Why recruit more characters? Auto-earn, service partners, and recruitment requestsMinor spoilers
More companions give you more options for Auto-earn income and service pairings; recruitment may also require completing a character’s personal request.

Even companions who do not deploy increase automatic income and give you more partner options for Divine Service. When recruiting, check negotiation for extra requests or material requirements as well as bonds and Renown.
More recruits improve income and Divine Service pairings
I want to recruit as many characters as possible. The first reason is Auto-earn. As your roster grows, the accumulated income becomes substantial. Even characters you do not deploy have a use.
I also want to test whether recruiting core members from other routes keeps them out of the opposing team and makes later matches easier.
Divine Service is another practical use. Each activity has suitable characters; more companions make it easier to find two who both excel at it. For activities such as feeding cats, the right pair can trigger a perfect result for high efficiency. With these uses, recruitment need not focus only on final deployment slots.
Accept recruitment requests after meeting requirements
Here, Support level 3 and Renown level 6 have already been met, but recruitment does not end immediately. The character explains that he once forged a weapon and gave it to villagers. Rogues later attacked the village, and the weapon ended up in their leader’s hands, where it became a tool for harming people.
He asks you to defeat the Rogues and destroy that weapon. To bring him into your party, you must address what matters to him as well as meet the listed requirements. When you see the negotiation conditions, finish reading the conversation and check for an additional task.
Use pegasus Avoid against archers
The small pegasus shown later has an ability that increases Avoid against enemies equipped with bows. A bow hit is still dangerous; the ability changes the chance of being hit. When deciding who should take an archer’s attack, consider both Avoid and effective damage.
Other recruitment negotiations ask for materials such as
Sandworm Meat and
Giants' Meat. A larger roster brings a wider range of requirements. Check the negotiation first, then decide what to pick up along the way on your next outing.
