Planning free time: Finish town activities, then gather quests and materials along one routeMinor spoilers
Check the calendar and town activities, then explore along side-quest routes and open waystations. Prepare class and recruitment requirements; restarting resets the chapter’s gains.

Check the calendar and finish city activities first, then explore toward side quests and unlock waystations. Check reclassing and recruitment requirements in advance. Restart Chapter returns progress to the chapter-start state.
Check the calendar and weekend discounts first
When free time begins, check the main-story objective and remaining turns at the lower left. One turn is six in-game hours. At zero turns, the story battle or event triggers.
Press X for the calendar to inspect activities and birthdays. Weekend discounts are especially useful when money is short.
| Day | Half-price activities |
|---|---|
| Saturday | Arena training |
| Sunday | Arena training, inn meals |
Choose today's activities by remaining turns, discounts, and approaching deadlines together.
The four protagonists focus on different resources:
Leda earns money and Renown through performances,
Cai captures and raises animals,
Dietrich actively farms battles, and
Theodora dispatches battalions for materials.

Renown unlocks and town activities
I prioritize Renown. It affects higher-tier certification exams, recruitment, and world-map access. Raising it first opens more options later.
Before leaving, arrange interactions with
Eshmel, Temple Service, gifts, and meals. Temple Service develops Blessings and support between two allies. Meals restore HP and spell uses while raising support. Arena training adds skill experience and support together. Combining these rewards is easier than repeated trips.
Facility access varies by route progress.
Cai cannot perform Temple Service during his initial free time. Check the adventure guide for currently available functions. The theater also opens gradually with Renown: level seven permits watching, and eight permits performing.
Exam requirements and recruitment preparation
Prepare an exam ticket first, then check character level and skill-rank requirements. Reclassing changes more than appearance: stats, available actions, and class skills change too.
For a recruit, find them on the map and open character information to check preferences. Giving a gift reveals the recruitment option; then meet the required Renown and support. Gifts found on the road work too, so you need not buy everything. Another companion adds tactical options, supports, and paralogue content.

Open waystations along side quests to save travel turns
Before heading out, finish activities that cost no turns, then see which direction side quests take you. Gather materials, fight for levels, and complete quests along that route rather than making a separate trip for every target.
Once at least two waystations are open, spend gold to teleport between them and save travel turns. Completed side quests raise Renown, opening more locations and functions so the next expedition reaches farther.
Press the plus button on the calendar to set reminders for birthdays and activities. Visit caves along the way for experience and materials. Skip repeated battle animations with plus to save real-world waiting time.

Restarting rolls back the chapter's gains
If you planned free time poorly, visit
Eshmel and choose Restart Chapter to rearrange it. However, companion strength, held items, and other progress return to the chapter's start. Newly gained levels and items roll back too. Before restarting, decide which of this chapter's gains you are willing to give up.
