Building Leda as a Dancer and advancing to The Apsara

Leda works well on the Hunter → Archer → Dancer path. Use Dance to give your main attackers another action and songs to strengthen the team. To continue into a Divine class, pass through Shadow Seeker at Master tier, then switch to The Apsara. Speed and HP matter more than her offensive stats: she needs to avoid attacks and keep enough health to pay for songs.

From Hunter to The Apsara

StageTraining prioritiesCertification and mastery
HunterTrain Sword and Bow at Beginner tier, starting with her strengths.Recommended level 5, Renown 1; Bow D or Sword D. Mastery grants Hunting Basics, Dexterity +1 and Speed +1.
ArcherFocus on Bow at Intermediate tier to retain a ranged attack option alongside support.Recommended level 20, Renown 4, Bow C. Comes with Combat Arts +1 and Bow Hit +5; mastery grants Crescendo.
DancerAt Advanced tier, Dance gives an ally another action. Its +25 Speed growth modifier helps her avoid attacks. The table recommends level 35, Renown 8, and Bow B or Sword B; Leda can also gain certification directly through a Chapter 9 quest. Comes with Dance and Combat Arts +2; mastery grants Special Dance.
Shadow SeekerA Master class to pass through on the way to her Divine class, still using Sword and Bow.Recommended level 45, Bow A or Sword A. Comes with Combat Arts +3, Locktouch and Master Search; mastery grants Dropshadow Blade.
The ApsaraRestores Dance at Divine tier.Bow C and Sword A. Comes with Combat Arts +3 and Dance; mastery grants Divine Dance.

Crescendo stacks Hit after kills, so it is not fully stacked at the opening. Special Dance gives the refreshed ally Dexterity and Speed +3 for that phase. Refresh someone who can use those bonuses. These levels are recommended training points; handle the quest for Dancer qualification separately.

A Dancer side quest opens in Chapter 9 of Leda's story. Complete it to take the class without the normal exam. Your Part 1 goal is therefore to unlock Dancer and give the team reliable extra actions; you do not need to switch to a Master class immediately. Shadow Seeker lacks Dancer's regular Dance command. If your team still needs her to Dance every turn, stay in Dancer until her Divine certification is ready.

Check Speed and HP around level 40

Around the end of Part 1, at roughly level 40, check whether her Speed, HP, Dexterity and Luck exceed the expected values for the recommended path. Her personal Speed growth is 65%, her greatest strength, and directly affects Avoid. Her 50% Dexterity growth makes bow finishing blows more reliable. Her 40% HP growth needs extra attention: songs cost 7–15 HP each, and an Underworld-type Burst also reduces maximum HP. With too little health, she may still be able to Dance but cannot sing many times.

Luck has only a 25% growth rate, yet affects Dodge. An evasion unit can still take a hit, and good Luck reduces the risk of that hit becoming a critical. She is not designed to tank every attack with Defense. Meeting the expected Defense and Resistance values is enough; do not disrupt her Speed-focused training to chase those two stats.

She can support even with Strength, Magic, and Charm slightly below expectation. Dance and songs are her main work, with attacks supplementary, so offensive-stat requirements can be lower. Charm mainly serves Gambit Hit. For main offense, switch to a Strength-building route rather than judging her support build by low offensive stats.

In Part 1, she can train only on Leda’s route. If Speed grows poorly, replay Leda’s route to train another Leda, then take each higher stat through Merge Causality. It retains the better value per stat rather than adding both versions together.

Even a top support unit must avoid taking direct hits

Her personal growth rates are HP 40%, Strength 35%, Magic 35%, Dexterity 50%, Speed 65%, Luck 25%, Defense 30%, Resistance 35% and Charm 55%, totaling 370%. She excels in Sword, Bow, Infantry and White Magic, and struggles with Spear. Sword and Bow training naturally leads into Dancer and The Apsara certification.

Her value comes from both single-target Dance and area songs. Song of Angels gives allies in range another action once per map. Song of Passion+ grants Strength and Magic +7 in an area, while Song of Icewater+ grants Defense and Resistance +7. Song of Madness can confuse groups of enemies, and the beast-summoning song calls forth a beast. The stronger your allies and the more effectively they can act together, the greater these support benefits become. Her overall rating is therefore SS, with particularly strong support value in the Promised One's story.

Her weaknesses are just as clear: low HP and Defense growth, plus low Luck, leave little room for error when evasion fails. As an Underworld type, fighting with cursed treasures increases her Blaze Gauge, and Burst reduces her maximum HP. Rampage allows Underworld Madness, which raises the gauge to 6 and maintains Overblaze after Burst. Maintaining Overblaze and singing frequently both drain her health reserves. High Speed alone is no reason to leave her in range of several enemies. Earth String: Obsidian provides Resistance +5. Blindside gives a 5% chance to avoid a counterattack when initiating combat, while the Diadem of Earth has a 3% chance to grant Attack +7 when attacking. Neither chance-based effect provides a reliable survival margin or kill threshold.

Choose the right turn for each of her eight songs

SongHP / Soulflame costEffect and acquisition

Use the offensive buff before your team launches a concentrated attack, and save the defensive buff for a turn when you will engage enemies. For the area extra-action song, let your allies take useful actions first so its single use does not go to waste.

Improviso lets her attack after singing

A protagonist available from Chapter 1

She is available at the start of the Barsk Post Town battle in Chapter 1 of Leda's story. You do not need Renown or support to recruit her. She cannot be recruited in Cai's, Dietrich's or Theodora's story. Choose Leda's story if you want to train her in Part 1.

Gifts for a performer

She likes memories of her parents, performances of songs from home, cute girls, jewels and applause.

For Pale Raven conversations, follow the themes of song, dance, applause and posture. Choose Sing beautifully when she asks the bird to sing along with a vihuela, or talks about sleeping positions and lullabies. Choose Spread your wings when she talks about applause. Choose Fly gracefully when greeting her during a long horseback journey, Dance when she discusses dancing poses, and Gaze intently when she questions the point of praying to the gods.

Support partners and voice actor

Her support partners include the Promised One, Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, Esmeralda, Buccar, Sirocco, Olympia, Mu, Dante, Talimun, Orchel, Guzran, Jester and Aswan. Her Japanese voice actor is Mariya Ise, whose roles include Killua in HUNTER×HUNTER, Urara Kasugano in Yes! Pretty Cure 5, and Stocking in Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt.

Unlock Dancer first, then divide support roles

Use Hunter and Rogue as stepping stones, then switch to support once Dancer unlocks to give a main attacker another action. In Part 3, divide dancing and singing according to the party's needs.

Song of Abjuring on the right costs 11 HP and grants allies in range effectiveness against netherfiends. The pale cyan tiles show its current coverage; gather allies before singing.

Class progression by stage

Prioritize Dancer eligibility in Part 1

The simple route is Hunter → Rogue → Dancer. Hunter requires level 5, Renown 1, and Sword or Bow D. Rogue requires level 20, Renown 4, and Sword or Bow C. Keep training swords and bows along this route. Rogue mastery grants In Shadow, giving Avoid in the next engagement after a kill. It is not active from the start of a map, and she does not need to steal kills on every map. Switch to support once Dancer unlocks. You do not need to build a damage dealer first; give actions to the main units best able to handle enemies.

Dancer depends on the quest, not just level. Complete Great Dancer's Successor from Chapter 9 of Leda's story, then visit the examiner with your qualification. The story unlock can come before the usual level 35. The standard table lists level 35, Renown 8, and Sword or Bow B, but that does not rule out the early quest reclass. Follow the quest instructions.

Another option is Archer before Rogue. At Bow C, master Archer for Crescendo: +3 Hit per kill, up to +30 on one map. Then use Rogue for In Shadow. This improves bow reliability but adds another specialty-class mastery. If you need another action, switch to Dancer first rather than waiting for both masteries. After mastering Dancer, equip Special Dance to give the dance target Dexterity and Speed +3 for that phase.

Another option trains magic before Dancer. Take Diviner → Shaman early, then use story eligibility to switch to Dancer and counter with a Magic-powered Levin Sword. This route requires magic training; Bow alone is insufficient. Staying at level 1 or controlling EXP to reclass before level 20 needs extra preparation and is unnecessary for a normal clear.

Part 2: give your main units extra actions

Higher levels alone are no reason to switch to a damage class. Against armor, give your mage another action. Against enemy mages, refresh a flying unit or brawler that can reach them. If your main attacker removes one boss HP bar in one hit, dancing for a second bar is worth more than Leda adding an arrow.

Keep training your existing sword and bow skills. For mobility, learn Infantry Move at Infantry A. A Mini Bow covers range 1 when usable; use a War Bow for damage, Horsekiller Bow against cavalry, and a forged Iron Bow for routine combat arts. Use what is in storage; you do not need every weapon.

When to buff and when to grant another action
Strength/Magic or both-defense buffs

Gather the allies who benefit and sing at the start of the turn.

An extra action through ordinary Dance

Wait for the main unit to act, then grant that one unit another action.

Songs cost HP, so reserve an action for a healer first. Check the current art menu for values, range, and remaining uses before singing. Calculate each song and upgrade state separately.

Leda's status screen: personal skills, shared skills, and special combat arts all appear on the right. Build around what she has actually learned.

Part 3: divide dancing and singing duties

With a larger party, group songs help more allies. Another character can serve as the ordinary Dancer while Leda focuses on songs that boost Strength/Magic, both defenses, or effectiveness against netherfiends. She can still use the relevant Blaze songs after switching to a combat class, but this does not automatically preserve the Dancer class's ordinary Dance command. Improviso must be learned and requires Overblaze. Ordinary singing alone does not grant a free extra action.

Staying as Dancer also works. If the party needs her ordinary extra action, there is no need to force a different final class. For The Apsara, train Sword A and Bow C early, obtain the Muses' Necklace in Part 3, segment 4, and meet the Divine exam requirements. Decide whether to reclass based on the party's available dancers. She can also become The Calamity and hand both dancing roles to others.

For group extra actions, let nearby allies act first. The once-per-map area song can refresh four allies around her. Have them finish attacking, then move Leda into the center and activate it. It is separate from ordinary Dance and does not require her current class to be Dancer. Check range, gauge, and HP before using it, and position allies first.

A more demanding alternative builds armored Avoid. Spend the first two parts in Dancer to develop Speed while training Heavy Armor to B and investing skill books. Later, maximize a Black Horse's bond and switch to Great Knight. That class requires level 45, Spear or Axe A, Heavy Armor D, Riding D, and its corresponding unlock. Finish the Dancer Speed training and Black Horse bond before entering this branch.

Prioritize Movement Boots to help her reach the center of group support. The main infantry route needs no mount.

Sing buffs first and grant extra actions afterward

At the start of a turn, decide whether you need a team buff or another action for one main attacker. For buffs, gather and sing first. For a refresh, let the target act before dancing. Reserve a central tile for group refreshes. Do not trade an ally's opportunity to clear a key enemy group for one arrow from Leda. Check her HP after singing, along with enemy bow and magic ranges.

Recruitment details

She is the protagonist of Leda's story and cannot be recruited in Part 1 of the other three routes. Her permanent Part 3 recruitment depends on completion of her own story. Limited deployment does not itself fulfill permanent joining requirements. See Leda's recruitment requirements.

Reclassing removes ordinary Dance

  • Switch to Dancer once story eligibility is obtained; you do not need to wait for level 35.
  • A normal clear does not require staying at level 1. Do not delay the party for it.
  • A damage class loses the ordinary Dance command. Special Dance mastery does not preserve it.
  • Sing buffs before allies attack; use group refreshes after they act.
  • Keep enough HP for consecutive songs. Additional attacks also require Overblaze.
