Playing this class

Gladiator is a starting class for physical units, adding +10 each to HP and Strength growth with no Speed bonus. To make early sword, axe, or gauntlet attacks hit harder, gain a few levels here before moving to your intended class.

Gladiator exam and growth screen: choose Axe, Gauntlet, or Sword D at the lower left. HP growth rises from 50 to 60 and Strength from 45 to 55 on the right; Speed is unchanged.

Suitable characters

  • Future physical units with low current Strength: Dietrich can follow with Myrmidon, Leda with Brigand, and Jester can start here too.
  • Units developing swords, axes, or gauntlets first. Diviner's skill EXP favors magic; train weapons in Gladiator for a physical route.

For Dexterity and Speed, choose Hunter. Gladiator does not help those stats.

Training priorities

  • Exam: level 5, Renown 1, and D in Axe, Gauntlet, or Sword. Train only the one your next class needs.
  • Uses swords, axes, and gauntlets, but no spears or bows. A bow user cannot keep using bows after switching here.
  • Growth bonuses apply through later level-ups. Reclassing does not immediately add 10 Strength.

When to move on

Mastery reward Attack Basics gives only Strength +1 and is not worth extending your stay for. Around level 20, once the next tier's skills are ready, move to Myrmidon, Brigand, or Pugilist for offense, then toward Shido or Warrior. Brigand gives Strength growth +15 and Speed +5, both better than Gladiator. Gladiator is a stepping stone.
