Halvin’s Strength-building mounted archer route

Original: [“[Fortune’s Weave] Halvin’s recommended classes and recruitment requirements [Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave] - GameWith”](https://gamewith.jp/fefw/577341); “GameWith”

Bow Knight is the recommended final class for Halvin. Bow and Riding are strengths, and Speed has room to develop. High mobility helps him find ranged attack positions, but low Strength needs improvement during training.

Use Sword to qualify for Strength-building classes

Follow Gladiator → Brigand → Forest Knight, then Bow Knight. Gladiator and Brigand improve Strength and can be entered through Sword, avoiding forced training in his weak Axe proficiency.

Bow Knight improves positioning and accuracy

Bow Knight requires Riding D and Bow A, permits swords and bows, and grants Bow Hit +10. Movement helps adjust shooting positions. Certification also requires Kalla’s request in the Promised One’s story.

Prepare ten Dates

Recruitment requires Support level 3 and ten Dates. Renown requirements are Cai 5, Dietrich 9, Theodora 7, and Leda 7.

Growth distribution and personal ability

After each combat, Hit +2 accumulates to a maximum of +30 for the current map. High Dexterity and good Speed suit a mobile archer.

The mounted archer routes prioritize different weaknesses

One route starts in Hunter, uses Gladiator and Brigand for Strength, then enters Forest Knight and Bow Knight. Gladiator and Brigand accept Sword for exams, so there is no need to force her weak Axe proficiency.

The other route is Hunter → Archer → Forest Knight → Bow Knight. Archer provides Crescendo, while Forest Knight provides Hunter’s Eye. The former stacks Hit through kills; the latter improves bow follow-ups. Both lead to bow cavalry: the first builds Strength early, while the second prioritizes Hit and Bow. Choose what she needs more.

Her personal Adaptability stacks Hit after combat, up to +30 until the map ends. Opening accuracy differs from accuracy after repeated fights. Even with Dexterity growth 60%, check the first shot’s forecast. Bow Knight’s mobility helps find attack positions. Hunter’s Cross later provides high Hit and Critical, but requires class mastery before equipping; changing class alone does not grant it.

The Calamity is another endgame option. This third full route develops through Archer, Forest Knight, and Bow Knight, then prepares for Divine unlock requirements. Obtain Riding D through training or guidebooks. Stay in Forest Knight until Bow Knight unlocks; recommended class-change levels are not hard requirements.

Around level 40 at the end of Part 1, focus on Strength, Speed, Dexterity, and HP. Strength growth 35% limits damage, Speed 45% supports follow-ups, and HP 35% gives room to survive hits. Forest Knight can use a Ferghanan Horse for Strength and Defense, but you must acquire the mount and raise its bond to gain full bonuses.

Train bow support first, then decide on Strength

Follow bow classes and help allies finish targets with a Venin Bow and initiating Speed debuffs. Switch to Brigand and Warrior if you want him as a main attacker.

Hit builds through combat, and his Speed debuff improves after the level 35 upgrade. He can support once he has the debuff. Cai's route can also add stats through a chariot; a high-stat merged setup requires multiple routes.

Training route by stage

Check level, Renown, and proficiency separately for exams. Continue his current class until he qualifies.

Part 1: prepare Dates first

Prepare 10 Dates for recruitment. Cai's requirements are lower, but reaching the desert for materials is inconvenient. Obtain the first batch from quests and expand through farming, or get them from Vegetable Crates or exchanges before planting. Early completion depends on random results.

Continue from his joining Hunter class and Bow progress. Joining levels differ by route; level 7 is only a template. At roughly level 20 and Renown 4, choose among three options:

Intermediate support or Strength training
Keep bow support as Archer

Maintain bow support. Take Archer with Bow C and master Crescendo for kill-based Hit stacks. This suits teams that do not want extra weapon training yet.

Add stats through Charioteer

Use a chariot for stats. Take Charioteer with Bow C and Riding D. Developed, eligible mounts add Strength, Defense, and Dexterity at a Speed cost. Ornius Rider → Charioteer is another starting route, but a late recruit already qualified for Charioteer need not go back.

Train Strength separately as Brigand

Brigand adds Strength. Enter Brigand with Sword or Axe C. Axe is a weakness; if you only need the exam for Strength, use Sword rather than forcing extra Axe training. Invest in Axe if you plan to use axe arts later. :::

Adaptability's in-game description gives Hit +2 after every battle, up to +30 until the current battle map ends. Recruitment Support, Renown, and negotiation requirements for the current route appear on the right.
Adaptability's in-game description gives Hit +2 after every battle, up to +30 until the current battle map ends. Recruitment Support, Renown, and negotiation requirements for the current route appear on the right.
Part 2: initiating debuffs or Strength

For bows, aim for Sniper at level 35, Renown 8, and Bow B, or Forest Knight with Bow B and Riding D for mobility. Sniper mastery adds Marksmanship for Hit. Forest Knight's Hunter's Eye requires follow-ups; without one, its extra Attack does not apply.

If Strength remains low and you want an attacking role, another option is Warrior at roughly level 35, Renown 8, and Sword, Axe, or Gauntlet B. High Dexterity and accumulated Hit suit axe arts with large accuracy penalties, shifting him from Venin Bow support to damage.

For Venin Bow support, attack safely to poison and slow first, then let allies such as Kiroc exploit the status. If the slowed enemy survives, have the teammate who most needs the slow act next. Halt Advance+ wears off after the enemy fights once; do not waste it on an arbitrary chip attack.

For chariot mounts, choose a Black Horse or an individual that adds Movement.

Part 3: continue bows or merge

For low investment, stay with bows. After Segment 1, take Bow Adept at roughly level 45 and Bow A. Bow Knight also needs Riding D and Kalla's temple side-quest unlock. Keep debuffing in the current class until qualified.

An expensive alternative is splitting training across routes, then fusing. One route uses Gladiator → Brigand for Strength, Cai's route uses a chariot and movement mounts, and another preserves Speed and Dexterity before combining them in Part 3. The example finishes as Forest Knight. This high-Strength, high-Movement setup requires extra multi-route training and fusion.

Bow Knight uses its movement range to find firing positions and learns Hunter's Cross through mastery.
Bow Knight uses its movement range to find firing positions and learns Hunter's Cross through mastery.

Mighty Shot at Bow B lowers Hit, so check the forecast. Before using double-hit bow arts, confirm he has learned them and check their costs. More damage needs Combat Art training and Strength.

Lower Speed before allies follow up

Initiate from safe range, then let an ally who needs a follow-up attack next. Adaptability gives Hit +2 after every battle, up to +30 on the map. It starts at zero and does not increase simply as turns pass. Longer maps with more fights make it easier to cap. When Strength is low, Venin Bow and Speed debuffs contribute more than high Hit alone against armor.

Recruitment

All four routes need Bond 3 and 10 Dates. Renown requirements are Cai 5, Dietrich 9, and Theodora/Leda 7. Materials and growing cycles often delay recruitment more than meeting him does. See Halvin's recruitment requirements.

Adaptability builds Hit from zero
  • Calculate low-Hit opening arts without Adaptability stacks.
  • Check Hit, Strength, skills, and weapon durability together before attacking.
  • Train Sword C if you only need Brigand; invest in weak Axe only for axe damage plans.
  • High-stat merging requires multiple routes. Even learned white magic may be unusable in the current cavalry class.
