Playing this class

Warrior helps physical attackers build HP and Strength, with +20 percentage points to both growths. Mastery Practiced Art adds Combat Art Hit +10. It uses swords, axes, and gauntlets, but adds no Speed growth; switching from Pugilist loses that Speed benefit.

Warrior’s exam panel: Sword, Axe, and Gauntlet B at lower left are alternatives. Innate abilities on the right are Axe Hit +5 and Brawl Hit +5; mastery is Practiced Art.

Who benefits

  • If Dietrich or Jester has poor Strength growth, spend some time here before returning to swords. Dietrich can add a dozen or more levels; Jester already has high Speed and should prioritize Strength.
  • Inaccurate attackers such as Tobias and Buccar can borrow Practiced Art to improve Combat Art Hit.
  • Mu can switch from Pugilist and keep using gauntlets. Before prioritizing Strength, make sure Speed and Dexterity are sufficient and follow-ups are common.
  • Goliath can enter Warrior to switch from heavy armor to infantry damage, sacrificing some durability.
  • A physical Leda can use Brigand, then Warrior for Strength, before Battlemaster.

Training

Renown 8 opens Advanced exams, with recommended level 35 and any of Sword, Axe, or Gauntlet B. Innate Hit +5 applies to axes and gauntlets, not swords; the class also grants Combat Arts +2. Mastery Hit +10 applies only when attacking with a Combat Art, not normal attacks. Magic and Resistance growth are both −5, so high HP does not remove the need to watch enemy spells.

For inaccurate axe users, combine Practiced Art with accurate weapons and arts; this one ability alone may still leave misses. Archers borrowing mastery must first switch to swords, axes, or gauntlets, because Warrior cannot use bows.

When to leave

After sword users improve Strength or earn Practiced Art, continue to Swordmaster. Axe/gauntlet attackers can enter Battlemaster, or War Monk for White Magic too.

If Combat Art accuracy is already sufficient and you only want Strength, switch according to growth results rather than waiting for mastery. Prioritizing growths over a limited mastery benefit is valid; inaccurate frequent Combat Art users gain more from mastering it first.
