Mikaela’s path from Hunter to Bow Knight

Train Mikaela along the Bow path into Bow Knight. Use its seven-space Movement to extend her shooting coverage, then consider The Calamity once divine classes unlock. This path values her Strength and durability, but needs to address accuracy problems caused by low Dexterity. Her personal ability only works in adjacent combat. Long-range shots gain their value from safe distance and mobility; do not count her close-range Hit bonus as well.

Prepare Bow Knight qualifications early

After switching from her starting Gladiator to Hunter, focus on Bow. Hunter requires Sword D or Bow D and grants Hunting Basics on mastery. The intermediate Archer requires Bow C. It provides Bow Hit +5 and one extra Combat Art slot. Mastering it grants Crescendo, which gradually builds Hit after defeating enemies. Her Dexterity growth is only 35%, so this training is especially useful for her later Bow path.

The advanced Forest Knight requires Bow B and Riding D. Bow is already a strength, but Riding is a weakness, so do not wait until you are ready to reclass to start training it. Use arena training or guidebooks to improve Riding. Forest Knight keeps Bow Hit +5 and adds Mount/Dismount. After mastering Hunter's Eye, follow-up attacks with an equipped bow gain Attack +3. You only gain this benefit when you actually make a follow-up attack.

The master class Bow Knight requires Bow A and Riding D. Seven-space Movement makes it easier to find shooting targets. Bow Hit rises to +10, and extra Combat Art slots increase to two. Its mastery Combat Art is Hunter's Cross, which emphasizes high Hit and Critical. Bow Knight unlocks in the third division of the Promised One’s story. Keep fighting as Forest Knight until then.

At the divine-class stage, you can also switch to The Calamity. Bow S or Sword S meets its weapon requirement. It provides Locktouch, Ultimate Search, and three extra Combat Art slots. Its mastery ability Divine Will raises Luck. This is a further option for the Bow path, with a different role from Bow Knight’s mounted mobility. Its class abilities replace those of the previous class when you switch.

Ferghanan Horse improves damage and Defense

On Cai’s route, you can ride a Ferghanan Horse after switching to Forest Knight. At bond level 5, it adds 2 each to Strength and Defense, plus 10 percentage points to Defense growth. This improves both shooting damage and durability near the front line. You can capture animals from Chapter 5 of Cai’s route. At bond level 5, an animal’s growth bonuses total 25 percentage points. If you have not found a rare individual, use a wild animal of the same species first. Their total growth bonuses are equal, so you do not need to wait for a rare horse before training.

The key is to raise the specific mount in advance, then move into a compatible class. Personal, class, and mount growths are calculated separately; removing the Ferghanan Horse removes its bonuses.

Check whether Dexterity keeps up at level forty

Around level 40 near the end of Part 1, check Strength, Dexterity, Speed, and HP first. Her 45% Strength growth determines shooting damage, 40% Speed affects follow-up attacks, and 50% HP supports fighting near the front line. Dexterity at 35% needs the most attention of these four: if arrows miss, even high Strength cannot secure a kill. Ideally, all four should exceed the expected values for the chosen path. Do not overlook accuracy just because HP has grown well.

If Magic, Resistance, Luck, or Charm fall below expectations, you do not need to retrain this physical path. Magic and Charm are not core performance measures. Mainly cover her 25% Resistance weakness by using bow range to avoid mages. Luck affects Critical and Dodge, but ranks below the four stats above. If Strength falls well behind, use Merge Causality with the same character trained on another route. Each stat takes the higher value, recovering the better-trained stats from the other record.

Enough durability but inconsistent kills in the first two parts

Her personal growths are HP 50%, Strength 45%, Magic 30%, Speed 40%, Dexterity 35%, Defense 40%, Resistance 25%, Luck 30%, and Charm 40%, totaling 335. She is strong in Axe, Bow, and Infantry, and weak in White Magic, Black Magic, Flying, and Riding. Bow A is easy to reach along the main path, while Riding D needs extra training.

Veteran’s Mettle grants Hit +10 in adjacent combat. Her HP, Strength, and Defense let her handle melee pressure better than fragile back-line units. Ordinary long-range bow attacks rarely benefit from the personal skill, and low Dexterity affects kill efficiency in the first two parts. With Speed growth of 40%, she still cannot double some enemies. Bows have limited enemy-phase counter opportunities, leading to an overall B rating. She can serve as a Bow Knight attacker in the Promised One's story, but may struggle to kill or hit in the first two parts.

Tavern recruitment and a 3000-gold negotiation

On Dietrich’s route, she joins through the story after the tavern battle event in Chapter 4, skipping recruitment negotiations. The other three routes all require Support 3: recruit her in Chapter 5 of Cai’s route with Renown 5, Chapter 5 of Theodora’s route with Renown 8, or Chapter 4 of Leda’s route with Renown 6. Once you meet these requirements, pay 3000 gold in the negotiation. You do not need to find a special item or follow complicated choices.

She enjoys physical activity and looking after others. Her favorite gifts are Simple Pastries, Garum, Young Ghosh, Common Coffee, History of a Master, and Volcano Ghosh.

Gifts she likes include Alecto Garum, Aromatic Shosh, Herbal Recipe Guide, Home-Recipe Book, Huge Fish Eyeball, Jade Ghosh, Blue Shosh, Mature Ghosh, Mature Shosh, Orgus Coffee, Pastry Cookbook, Rare Spices, Rustic Ghosh, Secret Ghosh, Select Coffee, Southern Coffee, Southern Ghosh, Strong Seasonings, Sun Ghosh, Village Recipes, and Wing Fletching.

In Pale Raven conversations, choose “Do a somersault” when she mentions unconsciously raising her voice while singing; “Dance” when she worries that her daughter will repeat her marriage mistakes; “Threaten” when she says disloyalty makes people sluggish; “Avert your eyes” when she praises the food and pastries her older sister taught her to make; and “Threaten” when she asks how strong the Pale Raven is and wants to squeeze it.

Adjacency skills and combat arts have separate conditions

Redblade's Will+ grants Attack +3 in adjacent combat, with a 30% chance to gain another 3. Together with her personal Hit bonus, it favors close combat. This is also where the Bow path trades away benefits for range and mobility. Check the following learning entries against your current class type and weapon.

Focus on axes for close-range damage

For a straightforward path, take Gladiator → Brigand → Warrior and use axes from one tile away. Her personal skill improves Hit, with extra Attack from level 20 onward.

Redblade’s Will starts adding Attack at level 20 and improves again at 35; its chance-based extra effect is not guaranteed damage. Axes and gauntlets, swords and bows, and heavy armor all have viable paths. Choose what your team needs instead of training everything at once.

Class progression by stage

Certification Exams need level, Renown, proficiency, passes, and class unlocks together. With late recruitment, continue from her current state instead of returning to beginner classes.

Part 1: Axes and gauntlets or heavy armor

Main route: Gladiator → Brigand. If she joins in Gladiator, keep it and prioritize Axe. At level 20, Renown 4, and Axe or Sword C, take Brigand, concentrating investment in Strength and the main weapon. Her one-tile Hit bonus suits axes; level 20 adds Redblade’s Will's fixed Attack +3. Secure sufficient reliable damage before counting the level 35 upgrade's random extra damage.

Mikaela fights at close range with Qiankun Circles, with Veteran’s Mettle and Redblade’s Will+ active at the upper left. The forecast shows two hits of 26 damage at 99% Hit, an enemy counter of 18 at 51% Hit, and only 22 HP remaining. Account for the counter even with her close-range bonuses.

Focus on Gauntlet if you want to use fists. Train Gauntlet, then certify as Pugilist at level 20, Renown 4, and Gauntlet C. Close-range gauntlet attacks work with her personal skill. Start with the gauntlet arts she already knows.

Take heavy armor if the team needs a shield. If Esmeralda and others have switched to flying, Mikaela can move from her current Soldier or Brigand class into Armored Knight at level 20, Renown 4, Spear or Axe C, and Heavy Armor E+. Cover physical damage first, and use Armored Move only after confirming she has learned it.

Part 2: Choose weapons by follow-up potential

On the axe path, reach level 35 and Renown 8, with Sword, Axe, or Gauntlet B, to become Warrior. After mastery, equip Practiced Art for another 10 Hit on combat arts. If a lighter sword allows follow-ups, its lower weight can improve actual damage. If an axe kills in one hit, you need not force a new path for follow-ups. One approach focuses on Axe and Strength; the other preserves Speed and uses light swords for follow-ups.

Use swords and bows if you want to preserve Speed. Switch to Hunter early, then work toward Ranger. Train Sword and Bow, with Authority B while on foot. Ranger requires level 35, Sword or Bow B, and its route-specific unlock. A Mini Bow at one tile benefits from her personal skill; a two-tile shot does not.

The armor branch continues into Dreadnought at level 35, Renown 8, Spear or Axe B, and Heavy Armor D. Switch when you meet the requirements without delaying chapter progress or displacing core units’ training.

Part 3: Finish along existing investments

Finish Part 3 along your existing path
Axes and gauntlets for melee

Axes and gauntlets: At level 45 and Sword, Axe, or Gauntlet A, become Battlemaster after clearing Section 1. Continue fighting in melee, then use War Master’s Strike after mastery. Certifying and mastering the class are separate steps.

Swords and bows for damage

Sword and bow branch: From level 45, choose Shadow Seeker once unlocked, with Sword or Bow A. For a bow focus, Bow Adept requires Bow A. This continues the sword and bow approach; the main axe path does not need this detour.

Heavy armor for tanking

Heavy armor branch: Keep an armored class to hold the line if Protection is already sufficient. To switch to flying, prepare the qualification and mount first; changing the planned final class alone is not enough. Raising Resistance across routes and switching to wyverns after the routes converge is a separate investment.

Reach B in Sword, Axe, or Gauntlet. The Warrior exam recommends level 35 and Renown 8.
Reach B in Sword, Axe, or Gauntlet. The Warrior exam recommends level 35 and Renown 8.

For a flying path, start with Ornius riders. Take Ornius Rider → Armored Ornius Rider, master Sense Threat, then switch to Wing Soldier to improve Resistance and attack mages. Tempest Spear improves Hit, a cavalry-effective spear handles cavalry, and a spare sword gives another damage option based on the forecast. Against archers, still check enemy Hit and effective damage. This approach requires additional Spear and Flying training and the relevant class unlocks.

The infantry path needs no mount. On Cai’s route, Charioteer is another option: a Ferghanan Horse improves Strength and Defense, while Monoceros improves Resistance. It requires separate Bow, Riding, and mount bond training. The close-range axe path does not need this detour.

Fight at one tile and keep fliers away from archers

Place melee builds on a side that can follow the main force and attack at one tile. Prioritize one-hit kills or light-weapon doubles. Carry two-tile weapons for unsafe melee targets, subtracting adjacency bonuses in the forecast. Low Resistance and enemy bows threaten the flying branch. Check the whole enemy group's ranges before entering.

Recruitment details

She joins through the story in Chapter 4 of Dietrich's route. Others need support 3 and 3000 gold, with Renown 5 for Cai, 8 for Theodora, and 6 for Leda. See Mikaela's recruitment requirements for appearance windows and prerequisites.

Close-range bonuses still need reliable Hit

  • Her personal bonus requires combat at one tile; a Mini Bow works at close range too.
  • Personal Hit +10 can still miss. Leave Redblade’s Will’s chance-based extra effect out of guaranteed kill damage.
  • Choose one of the five paths—axes, gauntlets, swords and bows, heavy armor, or flying—and focus on its secondary certification requirements.
  • Better Resistance does not make a flier safe in an archer formation. Check archer Hit, effective damage, and whether Sense Threat can trigger.
