Playing this class

Forest Knight is a mobile sword-and-bow user: Movement 7, mounted repositioning, and swords for close combat. Choose it for mobility; if Hit matters more, master Sniper before mounting up.

Forest Knight's exam shows recommended level 35, Renown 8, Riding D, and Bow B at the bottom left. Mount/Dismount, Bow Hit +5, and Hunter's Eye appear on the right.

Who benefits

  • Peter: With damage and follow-ups already established, Forest Knight uses a mount to improve offense, then Hunter's Eye strengthens follow-ups.
  • Lilian: Continue bows after Archer, with a fully bonded Ferghanan Horse as a cavalry option. Build Hit along the way to activate her full-Hit personal damage bonus.
  • Halvin: Use Ranger → Forest Knight to preserve Speed; Charioteer instead emphasizes Strength and Defense.

Training

Prepare for the recommended level 35 exam with Renown 8, Bow B, and Riding D. It uses bows and swords, with Bow Hit +5 and Combat Arts +1. Speed and Dexterity growth each gain +10, Strength +5.

After mounting, Steady Shot and its upgrades lose their infantry Hit bonus. Do not keep calculating the same 100% Hit you had on foot.

Master Sniper first for Marksmanship's Bow Hit +15, then come here for mobility. Stay in Sniper if Hit is still insufficient. Swords handle close combat, but Forest Knight's follow-up mastery only applies to bows.

When to move on

Hunter's Eye mastery grants Attack +3 on follow-ups with a bow equipped. Fast archers can carry it into Bow Adept or Bow Knight. Units who rarely follow up, or often kill with the first arrow, need not wait specifically for it.

If only borrowing mastery for damage, return to Sniper afterward. Keep riding when you need to respond quickly to reinforcements or switch firing sides.
