Playing this class

Sniper focuses on landing bow combat arts: Bow Hit +10 while in the class, then another Hit +15 with a bow from Marksmanship mastery. Master it before deciding between infantry bows and mounted classes; this improves accuracy more reliably than focusing only on travel distance.

Sniper's exam shows recommended level 35, Renown 8, and Bow B at the bottom left. The bottom right separates class Bow Hit +10 from Marksmanship mastery.

Who benefits

  • Lilian: Follow Archer with Sniper, combining her personal Hit bonus against enemies unable to counter with reaching 100% Hit for extra Attack.
  • Peter: Combine personal bow-art Range with Longbow, using adjacent allies for Hit before shooting from afar. Improve Strength in Brigand or Warrior first if needed.
  • Inyoni: High Strength with lower Speed and Dexterity suits Sniper's single-hit accuracy for picking off fragile fliers.

Training

Prepare Renown 8 and Bow B for the recommended level 35 exam. Growth modifiers are Dexterity +20, Speed +10, and Strength +5. It uses only bows, not swords.

Carry a Mini Bow with Range 1–2. After attacking, if an enemy will move adjacent next turn, switch to Mini Bow before ending the unit's action to enable a close-range counter. Marksmanship only improves Hit. Equip it after mastery; it remains usable after changing class.

When to move on

Before changing to Forest Knight for mobility, take Marksmanship. Stay in Sniper if Hit is still tight. For endgame pure bow offense, continue to Bow Adept; Inyoni can follow this route throughout. You can briefly master Ranger for Countershot before returning to bows, but it has only a 50% chance. Mini Bow is the reliable close-range counter option.
