Aswan’s training, class routes, and recruitment

Original: Aswan’s training, recommended classes, and recruitment requirements; Game8

Aswan joins as a Sniper. If you have time to reach Riding D, switch to Bow Knight for more mobility; if time is tight, choose Bow Adept and stay an infantry archer. The Calamity is another Divine option. She joins very late, so build on her existing archery instead of retraining Beginner classes.

She officially joins in Part 3, Section 5

She joins through the story at the start of Part 3, segment 5, without Support or Renown negotiations on the four protagonist routes. She arrives as a level 55 Sniper, and all three paths continue from there. Earlier story appearances or guest battles do not give her additional permanent training time.

Joining late is her biggest limitation. Her bow accuracy is good, but few late-game battles remain. Match extra training, mastery, and Divine certification to the time left. If resources are tight, skip Riding and go straight to Bow Adept.

See the recruitment guide for protection preparations before she joins permanently. After recruitment, choose exams based on her existing proficiencies.

Unlock the class and prepare seals, then take the exam when Renown and proficiency requirements are met. She joins at level 55; level 60 is a later training milestone, not a required wait before taking exams.

Princess of Arrows already handles most accuracy needs

Her personal ability Princess of Arrows grants Hit +20 with a bow equipped. Together with 50% base Dexterity growth, this supports reliable bow attacks. Other weapons do not receive the +20 Hit, and it adds neither Strength nor Range. Damage still determines whether she can defeat an enemy in one round.

Her growths are HP 40%, Strength 35%, Magic 10%, Speed 40%, Dexterity 50%, Defense 30%, Resistance 15%, Luck 30%, and Charm 20%, totaling 270. Dexterity stands out, but Strength and Resistance are clear weaknesses, and Speed is not exceptional. Her accuracy is reliable, yet late recruitment and low Strength growth can leave damage short.

She excels in Bow, Authority, and Infantry, with no listed weaknesses. Authority develops quickly, but GameWith Watchfulness her low Charm makes Gambits less accurate. Assess Battalion stat modifiers and Gambit accuracy separately; her bow accuracy does not carry over.

The Diadem of the Earth Bloodmark has a 3% chance to add 7 Attack when attacking. Plan kills around normal damage rather than gambling on this 3% boost.

Bow Knight carries her shooting role farther

The first path is Sniper into Bow Knight. Bow Knight has 7 Movement, using mobility to reach more targets. It requires Riding D and Bow A; arena training or manuals can fill the Riding gap. Her high level does not remove the need to train Riding separately.

Sniper grants bow Hit +10, and its mastery Marksmanship adds another 15 bow Hit. Bow Knight also grants bow Hit +10, adds a Combat Art slot, and awards Hunter's Cross on mastery for a high-Hit, high-Crit attack. Check whether she has already mastered Sniper when she joins; if not, she still needs class experience.

The cost is additional Riding training and cavalry requirements. Infantry-only abilities stop working after switching to cavalry, and you must update Battalion and mount slots too. Choose mounts and accessories separately.

If little training time remains, check whether Riding D is practical. If you lack manuals and cannot train Riding enough, choose the infantry path.

Bow Adept avoids extra Riding training

Choose Bow Adept when there is no time for Riding. Sniper into Bow Adept still mainly requires Bow A and keeps her an infantry archer. The class’s Dexterity and Speed growths complement her accuracy for ranged chip damage or finishing blows, without extensive extra training for a short-lived role.

Bow Adept grants bow Hit +15. Combined with Princess of Arrows and Dexterity, it improves reliability against targets in forests, defensive positions, and other Avoid-boosting terrain. She can also use Longbow’s innate Deadeye. Such arts have low Hit, but her accuracy makes them easier to use. Reaching 100% Hit still depends on enemy Avoid, distance, weapon, and Combat Art.

Longbow provides Deadeye; carrying Longbow does not teach it permanently. Switch weapons or enter a class unable to use Longbow and the art becomes unavailable.

Sky Hunter is the later mastery reward from Bow Adept, requiring full class mastery. Her late arrival may leave too little time before the endgame.

The Calamity requires additional preparation

The third path continues Bow training from Sniper through Bow Adept, then enters The Calamity once an S-rank alternative proficiency, the class unlock, and the certification item are ready. Keep training Bow in infantry archery along the way; there is no need to retrain Beginner classes.

The Calamity provides an extra Combat Art slot, Locktouch, and exploration abilities. Its mastery Divine Will improves Luck, also helping exploration. If the remaining game is too short to reach S rank and earn Divine certification, stop at Bow Knight or Bow Adept.

A complete Divine loadout for the six inventory slots, five abilities, and three Combat Arts is unavailable. Existing equipment must still meet the current class’s usage requirements.

Check Strength, Speed, and HP first

Check Strength, Speed, and HP first. Strength growth is only 35%, so even excellent accuracy can leave damage short. Speed at 40% affects follow-ups and Avoid, while HP gives a margin for occasional hits. Dexterity already has 50% growth and Princess of Arrows behind it; meeting expectations is enough, without pouring every resource into already-strong accuracy.

Ordinary bow attacks do not require prioritizing Magic or Charm. With 15% Resistance growth, use bow range to avoid enemy mages, check enemy movement ranges, and leave a retreat route. Slightly low Luck does not change her role, but check forecasts against enemies capable of critical hits.

She can also learn weapon-rank abilities and some Black and White Magic, though the bow Combat Art setup is incomplete. Black Magic includes Fire, Thunder, Bolganone, and Thoron. White Magic includes Heal, Nosferatu, Seraphim, and Holy Light. None of the three bow-class paths can cast these spells. With 10% base Magic growth, she should still focus on bows.

Prepare equipment around her current archer role. Longbow is an option; choose other effective bows, rings, and consumables from what you actually own. Even at level 55, she must obtain the equipment and meet proficiency requirements.

Coffee and books make good gifts

She likes Dante’s plays, board games, sewing, and beautiful scenery. Recommended gifts include The Works of Dante, Eastern Board Game, Spirit Board Game, Common Coffee, Select Coffee, Southern Coffee, and Coffee Pastries.

Other books include History of a Master, Tome from Away, Eastern Love Story, and School Scandal. Full Sewing Kit and Pack of Pastels are additional liked options.

Gifts improve Support and interactions. Her story recruitment has no gift or Support requirement.

Fill an archer or refresher role after joining late

Continue Aswan's existing bow route into Bow Adept for high-Hit finishing attacks. If you already have archers but need refreshes, choose Dancer.

With a bow equipped she has Hit +20, making her useful for back-line Longbow finishing attacks. She joins late with low Strength, so continue from her actual Part 3 state. Do not return to level 35, or include unlearned consecutive-hit arts in her damage.

Check Bow B in the lower center, then the personal, class, and equipped skill columns on the right. Before Bow A, do not include A-rank consecutive-hit arts in current damage.

Training route by stage

No normal recruitment in Part 1

She cannot be recruited normally in Part 1. Even after meeting her in the story, you cannot train her; do not schedule Hunter, specialty classes, or early proficiency training.

Keep both characters alive in Part 2

Protect her in Part 2 Chapter 3. Keep Tahonia alive too as a precaution. Survival affects Part 3 joining, so protect them first and train her after she joins.

Choose archer or Dancer in Part 3

If you need an archer, continue from her joining bow qualifications. Inspect her level and qualifications in your save instead of returning to level 35. Longbow with high Hit allows safe attacks from farther away. Princess of Arrows adds Hit, not Strength, so check damage per shot first.

Choose a role after recruitment
Sniper into Bow Adept
  • Keep Sniper, then switch to Bow Adept when eligible. Bow Adept recommends level 45 and Bow A, unlocked after the Promised One's story's first segment.
  • Add a usable back-line archer along existing Bow training, without detouring into other weapons.
Dancer refreshes your main units
  • Switch to Dancer: recommended level 35, Renown 8, Sword or Bow B. Other-character eligibility opens in the Promised One's story, one holder at a time.
  • Choose this when existing archers are strong enough and your team needs extra actions for its main units.
Bow Knight adds mobility
  • Consider Bow Knight if Riding is already trained: recommended level 45, Bow A, Riding D, plus its class unlock.
  • A mobility option from the class table; choose it only if extra training and mount development fit the time left.

After reaching exam level, proficiency and unlocks still apply. Continue an existing class after late recruitment; investing in Bow is additional if you want bow access.

Shooting plan: Finish enemies with current bows, Longbow, and learned combat arts. Equip Marksmanship after Sniper mastery and Sky Hunter after Bow Adept mastery. Check the skill menu for Bow A consecutive-hit arts; if she arrives with only Bow B, do not calculate damage as though Haphazard is available.

Refreshing plan: Switch to Dancer, stay safely behind the line, and Dance for main units. If someone already holds Dancer eligibility, return it before transferring it. Special Dance requires mastery. Compare existing refreshers before deciding to replace one.

Infantry archers and Dancers do not need a new mount. Bow Knight additionally needs her own bond and suitable mount abilities. Fill the role with equipment you already have.

Keep Longbow behind the front or Dancer near the main units

Shoot from the rear, using range and Hit for safe finishes. Leave armor she cannot damage to mages rather than repeatedly scratching it because accuracy is high. Her low Resistance growth makes trading hits with mages unsafe; do not end in enemy magic range for one arrow. Dancer only needs to approach the core unit requiring an extra action while keeping distance from enemies.

When replacements are scarce, Longbow and high Hit let her finish enemies. If you already have trained archers, rebuilding another offers less return; refreshing saves training.

Recruitment

She joins in Part 3 after defeating Hanno and returning to Dagsion. Preserve her Part 2 survival record in advance; see Aswan's recruitment requirements for multi-route records and joint-survival conditions.

Late training should fill the current gap

  • Continue her existing class after late Part 3 recruitment; do not add a long Part 1 training and level 20 class-change route.
  • Bow Hit +20 only adds Hit. Do not count a 3% Bloodmark's Attack +7 toward guaranteed kills.
  • While Bow is B, calculate damage from learned arts.
  • A whole new training branch for bow cavalry mobility may leave too few maps to use it. If current Bow works, put it to work first.
