Peppe’s sword evasion and late recruitment training

Peppe excels in Speed. Following Hunter → Myrmidon → Shido → Swordmaster, then The Calamity, lets him make use of both evasion and follow-up attacks. His real limits are Strength and HP growth of only 30% each, plus late recruitment. During training, also check whether he can deal meaningful damage, rather than focusing only on impressive Speed.

The sword route keeps Cleansing Blade offense

Start preparing for Hunter at level 5 and Renown 1, switch to the intermediate Myrmidon at level 20 and Renown 4, then the advanced Shido at level 35 and Renown 8, and begin preparing for Swordmaster at level 45. Myrmidon, Shido, and Swordmaster all continue training swords, so you do not need to change main weapons at every tier. Peppe is already recorded as a Hunter when joining, so continue his training from Hunter. If recruited late, proceed according to his actual level and the class qualifications already obtained, without going back to low levels.

Swords retain a clear role in Part 3: Cleansing Blade ignores Underworld Boon so attacks deal meaningful damage. Peppe’s Speed growth is 60%, with another +20 from sword-class growth, supporting both evasion and follow-ups. Swordmaster opens in Section 3 of the Promised One’s story. Keep using Shido until then; level 45 still needs the story unlock.

The mastery targets along this route are Hunting Basics, DexRavaging Arts, Ever Vigilant, and Astra, followed by Divine Will on the divine-class branch. Prepare Sword or Bow S to qualify for The Calamity. Divine Will provides a stat boost of Luck +10, but unlocking and mastering the divine class must be completed separately.

Forest Knight adds mobility and Defense

On Cai’s route, you can instead switch to Forest Knight at the advanced tier and have Peppe ride a Ferghanan Horse. Forest Knight can use his favored swords and bows, preserving his weapon options while using the mount to improve Strength and Defense. At Bond Lv5, it grants Strength +2 and Defense +2, with Defense growth increased by 10 percentage points, easing the pressure from his low Strength and durability.

Animal capture opens in Chapter 5 of Cai’s route. Before rare individuals appear, start raising a wild individual of the same species. Both provide 25 percentage points of total growth at bond level 5. This branch improves growth and mobility while mounted. Returning to an unmounted ground class removes mount benefits.

Check Strength as well as evasion

At the end of Part 1, around level 40, prioritize comparing Speed, Luck, Dexterity, and Strength against expectations. Speed at 60% provides evasion and follow-up attacks, Luck at 45% helps Dodge, and Dexterity at 45% improves Hit. Strength growth is only 30%; how well it grows directly determines whether follow-up attacks finish enemies or simply deal low damage twice.

Hunter’s Snare requires enemy phase and an already wounded enemy, then has a 30% chance to let him strike first. It works with allied chip but is not permanent first strike against full-HP targets. Magic and Charm are lower priorities for sword evasion. Below-expected Defense and Resistance need not derail the build just to equalize every stat. But HP growth is also only 30%, so this tradeoff depends on avoiding hits where possible. Low defenses still demand avoiding heavy blows.

If his Speed grows poorly this time, you can use a Peppe trained on another route for Merge Causality, taking the higher value for each stat. The overall assessment still gives him B tier: a fast swordsman can double and evade, but low Strength often leaves enemies alive, and low HP makes mistakes costly. His recruitment prerequisites also mean few actual battles in Part 1. Sword, Bow, and Infantry are strengths, while White Magic is a weakness, so prioritize training around his existing strengths.

LedaCannot be recruited———

Gabriel issues the request for Bertrand’s paralogue. Completing it unlocks recruitment for Gaitz and Peppe. On Cai’s route, the request window is September 17–25 in Chapter 10; on Theodora’s, it is the same date range in Chapter 11. On Dietrich’s route, it is September 17 in Chapter 9, so act that day. This paralogue does not occur on Leda’s route.

He cannot be recruited when he appears in early chapters. Prepare Support and Renown first, then handle the paralogue as soon as it opens. Missing it also loses Peppe, explaining his limited Part 1 availability. If recruited late, continue into the recommended route from his current level.

Chip enemies to activate his full ability bonuses

At level 35, King's Majesty+ grants Attack +4 and Critical +10 against injured enemies, targeting the same kind of opponent as Hunter’s Snare. Peppe is better suited to handling wounded enemies that teammates could not finish. Chip first, then finish them to benefit from both his Speed and conditional bonuses.

Evasion is infantry-only, with a 3% chance for Avoid +100 when attacked. The effect is strong but too rare to replace Speed, weapon Avoid, and terrain. Keep training to the required proficiency for arts not yet learned on joining.

Combat artDurabilityMight / Hit / CriticalConditions and role
Sunder2+4/0/+10Range 1, focused on Critical.
Destreza3+3/0/0Range 1; Attack +5 and Critical +10 if the enemy has no more than half HP.
Flash Blow5+7/0/0Range 1; a (Dexterity / 2)% chance to add Attack +5.

Encloser30/0/0Range 2; on hit, enemy Movement -3 until the next player phase.
Lend Dexterity00/0/0Range 1; grants an ally Dexterity +2 until the next player phase.

Destreza likewise requires an enemy already reduced to half HP; do not count its extra Attack and Critical against a full-HP target. Encloser focuses on restricting movement to create positioning opportunities for the next teammate. Sword classes and sword/bow classes can equip different combat arts, so filter them by the current class.

Pastries and spirit-themed gifts

He likes spirits, the people of Brigid, the sun, and his homeland. You can prioritize saving his favorite Common Coffee, simple pastries, and gems for raising Support.

In the Pale Raven conversation, when he says he is bored and asks what amusing entertainment you can offer, choose “Do a somersault.”

一句话结论

Add a little Strength as needed from his recruitment state and use him to finish already wounded enemies. In Part 3, Shadow Seeker offers support; invest more if you want a main attacker.

Speed is plentiful; improve Strength and durability first. After level 35, Attack and Critical bonuses against wounded targets improve. Plan survival without the 30% first-strike proc.

Training route by stage

He arrives late, so do not calculate the training window from a level 5 template. Continue his joining class and level, then add the Renown and proficiency needed for the target class.

Part 1: improve Strength after recruitment

Complete Bertrand's paralogue and recruitment, then inspect current class, Strength, and learned masteries. If continuing to train him, prioritize HP and Strength instead of adding more Speed. A specific low-investment approach uses Warrior for a modest Strength boost. Its exam needs level 35, Renown 8, and Sword, Axe, or Gauntlet B. Until eligible, use an existing deployable class rather than restarting at beginner tier.

Choose one of swords, archery, or exploration support according to resources; there is no need to complete all three. Test existing weapons against wounded targets, then add Strength if damage is lacking.

Part 2: weaken enemies before finishing

Continue Part 1's offensive or Strength-building job instead of switching through swords, bows, and axes to match a table. At level 20, the wounded-target bonus gives +2 Attack and +5 Crit; the level 35 upgrade gives +4 Attack and +10 Crit. Both require an already wounded enemy.

The usual order is teammate chip damage followed by Peppe's finishing blow. Compare the finishing benefit with spending another ally action. Large-HP bosses and monsters retain wounded status more easily; for ordinary soldiers, compare two-unit cooperation with a direct kill by a main attacker. Hunter's Snare still gives only 30% initiative on enemy phase. Check survival without activation before leaving him in range.

Another option is Archer → Sniper, finishing at range to reduce exposure. Archer requires level 20, Renown 4, and Bow C; Sniper requires level 35, Renown 8, and Bow B.

Peppe's Hunter’s Snare in the paralogue: only during enemy-phase combat against an already wounded opponent does it have a 30% chance to strike first. Keep both the wounded-target condition and chance in mind.
Peppe's Hunter’s Snare in the paralogue: only during enemy-phase combat against an already wounded opponent does it have a 30% chance to strike first. Keep both the wounded-target condition and chance in mind.

Part 3: choose the endpoint by resources

Exploration support or Strength-trained archery
Low-investment Shadow Seeker

Choose Shadow Seeker for lower-investment exploration support. It requires level 45, Sword or Bow A, and the Part 3 unlock. Exploration gains lack reliable statistics, so changing class alone does not guarantee a combat slot is worthwhile. If the team already has a utility unit, further investment is less necessary.

Improve Strength, then fight as Bow Adept

Another high-investment approach levels as Battlemaster for Strength and switches to Bow Adept for serious battles. Battlemaster requires level 45 and A in Sword, Axe, or Gauntlet; Bow Adept requires level 45 and Bow A. Both need their unlocks. The plan also suggests Axe S for Strength, adding training and late qualification costs. Changing the final class to Bow Adept alone does not fix his weaknesses. Exact steps and costs for the Axe S reward need further verification.

Swords are another choice. The Myrmidon line can work with Support bonuses: Myrmidon at level 20/Sword C, Shido at 35/Sword B, and Swordmaster at 45/Sword A, plus the relevant Renown and later unlocks. Shido requires level 35; level 20 permits Myrmidon first.

Before choosing a branch, calculate training needed for Strength and two high-rank weapon proficiencies, then check whether the team has a deployment slot.

Follow main attackers and finish weakened enemies

Keep him behind allies to finish weakened enemies, prioritizing reliable kills. His wounded-target bonus works both when initiating and countering. High Speed may not survive enemy phase, and low Strength can leave targets alive even after two hits. Check damage and incoming damage without a first-strike proc before remaining in enemy range.

His abilities work better once enemy groups are wounded, but late recruitment and Strength training cost time. Invest more if you like him; initially select targets according to current damage.

Recruitment

Complete Bertrand's paralogue, then meet the current route's Renown and Support requirements. Leda cannot recruit him. Dietrich must accept the paralogue on September 17; other recruitable routes have different windows. Check the recruitment page before traveling, and do not equate meeting him early with being able to recruit.

Use wounded-target damage without gambling on first strikes

  • Attack wounded targets first. Full-HP targets grant no personal Attack or Critical bonus.
  • The 30% first strike is unreliable. Plan essential survival without it.
  • Continue from the actual late-recruit state. Schedule training around current level, proficiencies, and masteries.
  • Fix Strength and durability first. More Speed alone will not solve low damage or dying in one hit.
  • High-investment plans separate leveling and battle classes. Count qualification training for both.
