Lilian's bow cavalry mobility and damage at 100 Hit

Train Lilian through Hunter → Archer → Forest Knight → Bow Knight. Use cavalry mobility to find positions where enemies cannot counter, then gain Hit from Safety First. The later divine option is The Calamity. Reliable accuracy is her strength, but check actual Strength and Speed: accurate attacks can still fail to kill.

Bow cavalry puts more targets within reach

Start as a Hunter to continue training Bow. Either Sword D or Bow D is enough to prepare for the exam, and mastery grants Hunting Basics. At Intermediate tier, Archer is recommended at level 20 with Bow C and Renown 4. The class provides combat art slots and Bow Hit +5; its mastery ability, Crescendo, also supports her later accuracy.

At Advanced tier, Forest Knight is recommended at level 35 and Renown 8, primarily requiring Bow B and Riding D. Build Riding separately through training or guidebooks. Simply shooting arrows will not raise it to D. At Master tier, Bow Knight is recommended at level 45 with Bow A and Riding D. Its 7 Movement lets her reach more distant targets and more easily find firing positions where enemies cannot counterattack. The class raises Bow Hit to 10, and mastery grants its bow combat art. Bow Knight unlocks in the third section of the Promised One's story; keep using Forest Knight until then.

The Calamity is a later option requiring Bow or Sword S and divine-class eligibility. It adds Combat Art capacity, Locktouch, and exploration abilities; mastery gives Divine Will. Do not skip Archer and Forest Knight while waiting for it.

A Ferghanan Horse adds Strength and Defense

Cai can capture animals from Chapter 5. A Ferghanan Horse is recommended for Forest Knight: bond level 5 gives Strength and Defense +2 each, plus Defense growth +10%. It adds damage and helps a fragile archer survive the occasional hit. Animal bond level 5 adds 25% total growth. A wild individual of the same type can support training before you find a rare one; you need not wait to begin.

High Dexterity still needs enough Strength

At the end of Part 1, around level 40, check whether Strength, Dexterity, Speed and HP exceed the expected values for her path. Her 55% Dexterity growth supports Hit and Critical, while her personal ability adds Hit +10 when the enemy cannot counterattack. Together, these provide reliable shooting. Her Strength growth is a low 35%. Once her shots connect reliably, sufficient damage still depends on keeping Strength on track. Her 40% Speed growth affects follow-ups, and her 35% HP growth determines how safely she can take a hit.

Magic and Charm do not support this physical bow path. Since she usually attacks from outside enemy range, slightly low Resistance does not mean her training failed either. Her 50% Luck growth should rise naturally and does not need the same attention as a Strength shortfall. If Strength grows poorly on one route, train her on another and use Merge Causality to retain the higher individual stats.

She excels in Bow and Infantry and struggles with Gauntlet. Her advantages are reliable Hit and plenty of opportunities to fight from Part 1 onward. Her weaknesses are unremarkable Strength, follow-ups and health, and difficulty maintaining bow counterattacks on enemy phase. She is rated A: her strength is dependable ranged physical damage, rather than powerful bursts or all-purpose tanking.

Extra damage requires 100 Hit

Safety First checks whether the enemy cannot counter. Upper Hand+ instead requires 100% Hit when initiating and grants Attack +5. Check separately: safe range does not guarantee 100% Hit, and high Hit does not prevent a counter.

On an infantry path, Steady Shot+ grants Hit +10 with a bow or magic equipped. Evasion has only a 3% chance to grant Avoid +100 when attacked, so it is not reliable protection. Her infantry movement ability reduces terrain movement costs by 1, to a minimum of 1. Her favorable-terrain combat ability grants Attack +5. After switching to cavalry, check these infantry-only abilities again rather than stacking bonuses from both unit types. Defensive Formation gives adjacent allies Protection +1.

Her magic list includes Fire with 10 uses, 3 Might, 90 Hit, weight 5, and range 1–2; Heal has 10 uses, healing Might 10, and range 1. The physical bow route need not detour into magic for these.

Set aside 5000G before recruiting her

She joins automatically after the arena event in Chapter 4 of Theodora's route, with no separate recruitment required. On Cai's and Dietrich's routes, she is listed from the start of Part 1 Chapter 4 and requires support 2 and Renown 8. Leda's route requires support 2 and Renown 7. Pay 5000G during negotiations for her to join. Complete quests and save the money in advance, rather than reaching the support requirement only to find you cannot afford her.

Gifts and Pale Raven conversations

She likes gold coins, jewels and older men. She loves Eastern Earrings, Poems of the Greats, Strategy Manuscript and History of a Master. She likes Gaudy Bangle, Herbal Recipe Guide, Home-Recipe Book, Pastry Cookbook, Strong Seasonings, Trader's Handbook, Training Bracelet, Village Recipes and Wing Fletching. Mellow Pastries, Garum, Common Coffee and Young Ghosh fall into the generally accepted tier.

Choose Pale Raven gestures by topic: tilt your head when she values money above trust; look around when she wants to see beautiful feathers; dance when she says working for a former enemy for money is acceptable; move closer when she wants comfort amid her busy life; gaze intently when she wants to show jewels. A similar line about wanting comfort instead uses Sing Beautifully. Read the wording carefully, since the answers differ.

Her support list includes the Promised One, Theodora, Bonaventure, Tobias, Lysander, Mu, Gaitz, Talimun, Simon, Diego and Nydine. Her Japanese voice actor is Shuka Saito, whose notable roles include You Watanabe, You and Rika Kawai.

Reach full Hit with an infantry bow build

Take Hunter → Archer → Sniper → Bow Adept. Enemies unable to counter give +10 Hit first; reaching 100% Hit against the current target grants extra Attack from level 20, upgraded at 35. Insert Brigand or Warrior if Strength is lacking.

Class progression by stage

Exams require level, proficiency, and unlocks together. With late cross-route recruitment, continue from the current class.

Part 1: Shoot safely, then reach full Hit

Start Hunter and focus on Bow. Around level 20, Renown 4, and Bow C, take Archer and master Crescendo: each kill stacks +3 Hit, up to +30 on the map. Kills come first; it is not fully stacked at deployment. Infantry D learns Steady Shot, with an upgraded version at B. Remain infantry to meet those restrictions.

For every shot, check counterattack availability, then final forecast Hit. Longbow expands safe targets, while accurate bow arts help reach the threshold. Using Mini Bow up close against an ordinary archer unable to counter at melee range is another safe-shot scenario. Upper Hand gives Attack +3 at level 20 and Upper Hand+ raises this to +5 at level 35. An enemy being unable to counter does not automatically grant extra Attack.

Lilian's skill preparation screen separates her personal skill Safety First from equipped Steady Shot+ and Upper Hand+. The top left shows Ranger with Movement 5; confirm 100% Hit in the combat forecast before attacking.

Spend some levels on Strength if it clearly lags. Take Brigand around level 20 with Sword or Axe C. For further Strength, around level 35 and Renown 8, take Warrior with Sword, Axe, or Gauntlet B. One specific plan switches to Gladiator at level 10, Brigand at 20, and Warrior at 35. Follow this branch if Strength is low; both Strength training and Archer mastery take time.

Part 2: Infantry preserves accuracy; cavalry gains mobility

Keep infantry Hit or gain mobility in Part 2
Sniper preserves infantry Hit

The core takes Sniper around level 35, Renown 8, and Bow B. Master Marksmanship for Hit +15 while using a bow. Equip Encloser at Bow C and Sneaky Shot at B when actually learned. Encloser restricts enemy movement, providing a job even when damage is insufficient. Budget Longbow durability instead of firing at range throughout the map without a plan.

Forest Knight trades for mobility

An alternative takes Forest Knight with Bow B and Riding D to find safe angles through movement. Successful examples exist, but losing infantry-only Hit requires rechecking the 100% threshold. Stay in Sniper if you cannot meet it. Mount breed and development are not confirmed; calculate bonds from your current progress. :::

Part 3: Let accuracy determine the endpoint

Default to Bow Adept: around level 45 and Bow A, unlocked after the first segment. Continue infantry accuracy without a divine slot. Mounted Bow Knight also requires Riding D and the Temple of Kalla side quest. Level 45 does not mean it is already unlocked.

Another multiple-route approach trains bows on one route and Gladiator → Brigand → Warrior for Strength on another, then returns to bows after merging. You can also use The Eternal to improve Strength before finishing in Shadow Seeker. This requires heavy investment; prioritize the core bow route on a first clear.

Mars's blessing can help reach full Hit; see its effect and acquisition requirements on the blessing page. Check the Hit forecast for every attack. Infantry uses a bow with a Longbow backup; mounted builds cannot receive battalions or copy infantry-only skill benefits. See battalion assignment restrictions.

Dancer offers another role: around Sword or Bow B, focus on Dance after it opens in Part 3. Switch if the team needs refreshes; the bow route can continue to Bow Adept.

Find targets unable to counter from behind the front line

Stay behind the front and find enemies unable to counter, prioritizing fliers and weakened targets. When she cannot kill, use control arts to create safe positions for allies. Do not keep firing ordinary shots at high-Defense enemies with low Strength. Recheck Hit before Crescendo stacks, against long-range counters, and after switching to cavalry.

Recruitment details

She joins automatically in Chapter 4 of Theodora's route. Other routes can recruit her: Cai and Dietrich require Renown 8, Leda Renown 7, all with support 2 and 5000G. Count recruitment costs and remaining training time before cross-route investment. See Lilian's recruitment requirements.

Full-Hit Attack and safe shooting are separate checks
  • Check that enemies cannot counter, then confirm 100% Hit before counting Attack +5.
  • Crescendo does not start with Hit +30; use high-Hit moves on the first enemies.
  • Cavalry cannot receive Steady Shot's infantry benefits.
  • When attacks hit but do little damage, change targets or improve Strength.
