Nuzzuo's high-Speed sword build and effective weapons

Nuzzuo suits a sword build that uses high Strength and Speed for follow-up attacks. His main route is Hunter, Myrmidon, Shido, and Swordmaster, followed by The Calamity as his Divine class. Effective weapons also let him activate Har Hali Wisdom, but his Defense and Resistance are both low. Choose his targets carefully to reduce the hits he takes while standing among enemies.

The sword route reaches its endpoint in the Promised One's story

The Beginner recommendation is Hunter at level 5, Renown 1, and Sword or Bow D, mastering Hunting Basics. The intermediate recommendation is Myrmidon at level 20, Renown 4, and Sword C, mastering DexRavaging Arts. These connect his sword/bow strengths to sword training. He actually joins as a level 30 Rogue, so continue Rogue → level 35 Shido → level 45 Swordmaster without returning to Beginner or intermediate classes. Hunter and Myrmidon describe early training directions; obtaining their masteries still requires filling class experience separately.

For the advanced stage, Shido is recommended at level 35 and Renown 8, requiring Sword B; mastering it grants Ever Vigilant. For the master stage, Swordmaster is recommended at level 45 and Sword A. Swordmaster's Speed growth modifier of +20 further uses his personal strengths of 50% Strength and 55% Speed growth. It only unlocks in the third division of the Promised One's story, so continue using Shido before then. Its mastery reward, Astra, attacks five times in a row, putting Strength to work through more hits.

Prepare Cleansing Blade for the Promised One's story as well. This sword nullifies the enemy's Underworld Boon, so Sword training is useful beyond ordinary physical damage in Part 1. For a Divine class, advance into The Calamity, requiring either Sword S or Bow S, and master it for Divine Will. This qualification also requires a Divine item and an available slot. Until you obtain it, you can continue fighting as a Swordmaster.

A Ferghanan Horse adds positioning options for swords and bows

On Cai's route, you can change the advanced stage to Forest Knight and use a Ferghanan Horse for mounted archery. Forest Knight lets him use the swords and bows he excels with while on horseback. At bond level 5 with his Ferghanan Horse, he gains Strength +2, Defense +2, and Defense growth +10%, shoring up his naturally weak Defense. This branch shifts investment from pure sword infantry toward mounted combat, and can retain the mounted archer role afterward.

Capture unlocks in Chapter 5 of Cai's route, and at bond level 5 a mount grants a total growth bonus of 25%. If you have not encountered a rare specimen, you can start raising a wild individual of the same species, since the total growth bonus is the same. The mounted stat and growth benefits come from actually obtaining and raising a mount; passing the Forest Knight exam alone does not automatically grant them all.

Good Strength and Speed still require avoiding damage

Around level 40 at the end of Part 1, prioritize checking Strength, Speed, Dexterity, and HP. His 50% Strength growth supports damage per hit, 55% Speed supports follow-up attacks and Avoid, 45% Dexterity helps Hit and Critical, and 50% HP leaves room to survive a hit. Do not look only at Speed among these four stats: landing hits, dealing meaningful damage, and making follow-up attacks together produce his full offense.

It is acceptable for Magic, Luck, and Charm to fall below expectations. This physical build does not rely on Magic or Charm, while Luck mainly supports Critical and Dodge. His 20% Defense and 15% Resistance growth are harder to fix through natural growth alone, so take fewer counterattacks and avoid standing in front of too many enemies. If his Strength grows poorly on one route, you can later use Merge Causality with himself from another route, taking the higher value for each stat.

Effective weapons improve both damage and Hit

Har Hali Wisdom requires his attack to be effective or super-effective against the enemy, granting Attack +3 when the condition is met. His upgraded ability, Precision Strike+, grants Hit +20 under the same condition. Choosing the right weapon and target therefore brings out his personal strengths more than simply equipping the normal sword with the highest displayed stats. Sword, Bow, and Gauntlet are all strengths, and he has no proficiency weaknesses.

Grounder costs 3 durability, grants Might +3, and is effective against flying units, working with his personal ability. Destreza also costs 3 durability and grants Might +3, adding another 5 Attack and 10 Critical against enemies below half HP, making it suitable for finishing blows. Flash Blow costs 5 durability and grants Might +7. When attacking, it has a percentage chance equal to half his Dexterity to add 5 Attack; this extra bonus is not guaranteed. His basic bow options include Vital Shot, costing 2 durability with Might +4 and Critical +5. Surprise Shot targets full-HP enemies, with a 30% chance to grant Attack +5.

He can secure kills through Strength and Speed in Part 1, but he joins in Chapter 6 at the earliest, leaving less training time than early companions. In late Part 1 and the beginning of the Promised One's story, his low defenses make repeated counterattacks difficult to endure. His overall rating is A. His strength is choosing targets proactively to deal damage; his weaknesses are durability and recruitment timing.

Rogue into Sniper

Develop Nuzzuo from Rogue into Sniper, using Strength, Speed, and effective weapons to pick off targets. His defenses are thin; do not make him tank.

Nuzzuo has a strong Strength/Speed balance and adds Attack and Hit against targets vulnerable to effective damage. Bring several effective weapons; his level 35 Hit upgrade makes them more reliable. Being able to evade does not make him a regular frontliner.

Nuzzuo's native level 61 Ranger status screen shows Strength 35 and Speed 57, but Defense 12 and Resistance 11 at the lower left. A sword is equipped in the center. Fast attacks do not guarantee surviving counters; check damage against current defenses before closing in.

Class progression by stage

Part 1: prepare effective weapons as Rogue

Do not return to Hunter merely to complete the class arrows. If he joins as a Rogue, keep developing Bow and switch swords/bows by target. Strength 50%, Speed 55%, and Dexterity 45% already provide an offensive foundation; extra Strength training is not mandatory for everyone.

  1. Prioritize Bow B for Sniper. Its requirements are level 35 and Renown 8. Bows find effective targets among fliers, giving a second archer a clear team role. Still check each target's forecast.
  2. Broaden effective coverage first. Use bows against fliers, Horsekiller Bow against cavalry, and Hunter's Bow against the corresponding beasts. For swords, prepare anti-cavalry weapons such as Zanbato. Check class access and enemy tags before use. Upgraded effective weapons matter more than carrying several ordinary bows.
  3. Another option: train stats as Charioteer on Cai's route. It requires level 20, Renown 4, Bow C, and Riding D; move to Forest Knight or Bow Knight when satisfied. Choose this if you have a mount and can afford extra training.
When Nuzzuo shoots a wolf-type enemy, Har Hali Wisdom and class-ability notifications appear at the upper left.

Nuzzuo is already a level 28 Rogue in this save. Check his current class and level at the lower left, then continue Bow training from Rogue; do not return to Hunter just to follow the route arrows.

Part 2: Sniper or sword/bow cavalry

Stay an archer, prioritizing fliers and other effective targets. Once level 35, Renown 8, and Bow B are met, move into Sniper. Master Marksmanship, then equip Bow Hit +15.

Sword/bow versatility or mounted archery
Switch between sword and bow as Ranger

Requires level 35, Renown 8, Sword or Bow B, and the route unlock. Use swords against ordinary targets and bows against wyverns. Armor can still be difficult; access to two weapon types does not counter everything.

Mounted Forest Knight on Cai's route

Requires level 35, Renown 8, Bow B, and Riding D, using the mount you have developed. The mastery Hunter's Eye adds Attack only on bow follow-ups, not all bow attacks. The exact mount species, bond, and substitute individuals are not fully specified.

His thin defenses require staying within allied protection. Check whether distant enemies can counter your shots. Choose battalions and Boons for the current class.

Part 3: add Sword for more effective coverage

To retain sword and bow access, move into Shadow Seeker. It requires level 45 and Sword or Bow A and unlocks after Segment 1 of the Promised One's story. A pure archer needs separate Sword training before using swords. Sword-focused routes can also use Shido and Swordmaster with Cleansing Blade against the corresponding enemies. This adds different effective coverage from ordinary bows against fliers.

A longer option is Charioteer → Shido → Swordmaster → Bow Knight or Shadow Seeker. Build stats, obtain sword masteries, then return to a sword/bow role. Meet each unlock and exam requirement separately; Swordmaster must wait for Part 3. Swordmaster requires level 45, Sword A, and its unlock. Bow Knight requires level 45, Bow A, Riding D, and its unlock. Mastery takes additional time.

He can also work with Ursula to change charms for different targets on the spot. If Defense is insufficient, consider armor training while reserving time to return to sword/bow duties.

Bring effective weapons for the enemy types

Check enemy types before deployment and bring weapons that trigger effectiveness. An ordinary bow against ordinary ground enemies does not gain Har Hali Wisdom for free. The level 35 Hit upgrade also requires effectiveness. If a flying enemy already dies, extra Attack may be redundant and another attacker can handle it. More effective weapons let him change targets while keeping his personal bonus.

When closing in with a sword, prioritize targets he can kill before they counter. Try a double-strike art if he has learned it. Leave armor he cannot damage or ranged mages that can counter to teammates rather than gambling with his thin defenses.

When Nuzzuo selects a sword at close range, the left shows Protection 12 and Resilience 9. Several wolf-like enemies remain nearby; check counters and subsequent focus fire before attacking.

Recruitment details

Cai's route requires Renown 6, Support 2 with Cai, and 3 Iron Bows. Dietrich requires 2 Iron Bows; check the selected route for other thresholds. Meet them early if you want him. See Nuzzuo recruitment.

Recheck effectiveness after changing targets

  • Recheck effective tags for each new target. Extra Attack and Hit can disappear together.
  • Check enemy range before firing from afar. Enemies can still counter if they reach you.
  • Do not face entire groups with thin defenses. High Speed does not withstand repeated hits.
  • An archer role already works. Take the longer Charioteer, sword-mastery, and mounted-archery route only with enough mounts, training, and time.
