Playing this class

Charioteer builds Strength and Defense and uses a straight-line charge to hit a row of enemies. Its growth improves with level, so it remains useful after level 35. Mounted Charioteers cannot evade and survive by taking hits.

Charioteer threat tutorial: a purple line marks the charge path. Tialla’s tip says to avoid the front and approach from the sides or rear. (English interface)

Who benefits

  • To retain follow-ups, add Strength and Defense to someone already fast. The level 20 growth tier has Speed -5, so a slow rider stays slow.
  • Without chasing follow-ups, use a slow frontliner for Shove and taking hits. The goals differ: the first preserves an existing Speed base, while the second replaces follow-ups with area attacks.
  • Halvin enters with Bow C and Riding D. Io must train his weak Bow proficiency first, then develop with his exclusive horse.
  • Cai also needs his weak Bow proficiency, then trains with a Ferghanan Horse on Cai’s route before High Savant. Benditz’s personal ability is tied to Charioteer, favoring staying in class.

Training route

The exam recommends level 20, with Renown 4, Bow C, and Riding D. It only uses bows. Build mount affinity before many level-ups. The displayed doubled mount growth example totals 25 → 50; only the mount portion doubles.

Check the endpoint before charging so you remain within healing and allied support. Chariot Armor grants Protection +5. Charger mastery grants Protection +10 after charging until the next player phase. Neither improves magical durability.

Use a range 1–2 Mini Bow for close combat. Quality and Luxury Weapon Crates have yielded one, but farming them for everyone takes time. Without one, have allies cover close-range enemies.

When to move on

Master Charger for a permanent Shove role. If you only want stats before changing to an attacker, do not stay longer just for it.

Do not rush to a higher tier at level 35. Growth improves again at the level 35 and 45 tiers, supporting continued stat training. Each full tier replaces the previous one; they do not add together.

To return to regular archery, Peter can change to Forest Knight for Speed and bow performance, while Charioteer retains durability and Shove. Halvin can also move to Forest Knight after training.
