Orchel’s frontline Sentinel route

Original: [“[Fortune’s Weave] Recommended classes and recruitment requirements for Orchel [Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave] - GameWith”](https://gamewith.jp/fefw/577374); “GameWith”

Promote Orchel to Sentinel to absorb hits on the front line with high Defense and Resistance while retaining white magic healing.

Spears and white magic cover tanking and healing

Sentinel requires Spear A and can use spears and white magic. The class further boosts Defense and Resistance while increasing white magic uses and healing. She can take both physical and magical attacks and heal allies from the front line.

Long-range spells expand her frontline role

Besides strong healing and long-range healing, she also has a wide-area Blaze Art attack. High durability lets her stand in front while still healing distant allies, and she also has an answer for distant enemies. Her personal ability grants the armored attribute, and she cannot become a cavalry or flying unit.

Finish her personal paralogue in Part 1

Complete Orchel’s paralogue in Part 1, and she will later join through the story in the Promised One’s story. If you missed the paralogue, return to the relevant chapter and clear it.

Growth distribution and personal ability

Her personal ability grants Defense +5 and makes her armored; she cannot become a cavalry or flying unit. HP, Speed, and Dexterity are low, while Defense and Resistance are very high. Diadem of Duality has a 25% activation chance when attacking and grants Attack +3; Diadem of the Apostle has a 20% activation chance and grants Hit +20.

Sentinel and Wiseman serve different roles

Guardian into Sentinel puts spear damage and White Magic support in one frontline role. High Defense and Resistance help him take hits, but low HP, Dexterity, and Speed still require checking accuracy and survival against consecutive attacks. Check whether he can endure them before deciding how far to advance. Heal allies when he has spare actions.

Another route takes Bishop and Wiseman before The Avatar. Wiseman preserves White Magic uses and healing and can wield axes for melee finishing blows alongside tanking. The Avatar offers both magic types, more uses, and magic accuracy bonuses that partly compensate for low Dexterity. These endpoints serve different needs: Sentinel for a Spear/White Magic frontline, Wiseman for White Magic sustain and axes. Consider The Avatar once its endgame qualifications are ready.

The early class sequence is Diviner, Priest, then Bishop. The roster's level 3 Diviner template has no playtest record. He actually joins as a Bishop in the Promised One's story. Continue from his current class after joining instead of retraining the early stages.

Focus on HP, Defense, Resistance, Strength, and Magic. HP growth is only 30% and determines how long his high defenses remain useful. Strength supports axes or spears. Magic affects White Magic healing and Strahl and Lanze during Overblaze. Speed 10% and Dexterity 20% are very low, so do not plan around follow-ups. Diadem of the Apostle's chance-based Hit and class accuracy only partly compensate. Check the battle forecast.

Keep healing through Wiseman, then improve HP

In Part 3, move Orchel from Bishop to Wiseman. Healing allies also restores her own HP. Fix low HP first.

Both defenses are high, but she can handle only limited frontline combat, and low Speed makes follow-ups difficult. Continue from her recruitment state; existing White Magic is enough to contribute. Castle Knight's Intercept, Sentinel, and The Avatar require extra investment.

Orchel is currently a level 62 Wiseman with 41 HP. The right separates personal abilities from White Magic class abilities.

Class progression by stage

Part 1: complete the paralogue first

Complete Orchel's paralogue in Part 1. She cannot formally join for long-term training then. The level 3 Diviner entry is a base template; do not plan controllable leveling or pre-earned Castle Knight mastery from it. Her equipment, abilities, and controllable leveling before recruitment remain unconfirmed.

Part 2: wait for Part 3 recruitment

There is no verified freely controllable training for her in Part 2, so class changes and proficiency training cannot be scheduled. Her personal ability prohibits mounted and flying classes; she needs no mount feeding. Part 3 participation depends on completing the paralogue and triggering the story event.

Part 3: become Wiseman and improve HP

  1. Continue from her current level and Bishop. Check existing Heal, Physic, Recover, Seraphim, and Starlight. Plan further training from the current menu. Late recruits continue from their existing level rather than going back to “train to 35.”
  2. Reach White Magic A, using level 45 as the reference for Wiseman. It unlocks after clearing Segment 1, retaining advantages in White Magic uses and healing so she can heal allies and herself. It cannot use Black Magic, so teammates must take over that damage role.
  3. Fix HP first. Low Speed makes her vulnerable to follow-ups. If total damage exceeds maximum HP, high defenses still will not save her. Seraph Robes can raise HP; quantities and acquisition routes remain unconfirmed, so allocate them according to your own damage forecasts. The 60% values are defensive growth rates; read current defenses from the status screen.
  4. Another option: Castle Knight before returning to healing. Around level 45, train Heavy Armor C and Spear or Axe A, unlock Castle Knight, build HP, and master Intercept before returning to Wiseman or another White Magic class. Castle Knight cannot heal with White Magic, so another unit must cover it; building HP also requires leveling in that class.

If Spear is already trained, Sentinel is an option. With level 45 as the reference and Spear A, take the Sentinel exam after clearing Segment 1 to retain spears and White Magic. After mastering Resolute Stance, healing allies can help her return to full HP. Whether she fully heals and whether reduction or self-healing resolves first must be checked in battle; do not assume constant reduction.

Orchel attacks an Underworld soldier with Seraphim at 100% Hit for 61 damage. Her initiating Magic Hit ability also activates.

The Avatar occupies the team's single slot for that class.

Who should receive The Avatar qualification?
Give The Avatar to Orchel

With Black or White Magic S, the Lotus of Reincarnation, and a 100% pass rate, choose The Avatar to use triple spell charges with her strong White Magic. Only one unit can hold the class.

Keep Orchel in a regular healing class

Keep her as a regular healer and give the qualification to someone else. Wiseman remains useful.

Change for more spell uses, or keep a normal healing class to save the team's slot.

Equip White Magic and improve HP first; if Dexterity is lacking, Armored Combat C is an optional detour. She cannot ride or fly, and no reliable unified battalion, Boon, and full-equipment setup is established. If switching to pure axe/brawling, assign another main healer.

Compare healing with self-recovery against attacking

Stand where she can support the front without being focused down, then compare healing with self-recovery against attacking this turn. Use learned effective White Magic against undead. The initiating Magic Hit bonus helps accuracy, but follow-ups still depend on Speed. Against strong axe users or repeated follow-ups, calculate the whole turn's incoming damage, including during split-team battles.

Orchel has only 18/23 HP while near multiple axe and bow enemies. Check both current HP and the full round's incoming damage before engaging.

Recruitment details

Complete her paralogue on any Part 1 route first. Part 3 records mention both limited participation in Segment 1 and formal recruitment in Segment 2; the permanent availability point remains unconfirmed. Do not plan free class changes during story-only participation. See Orchel's recruitment conditions.

Assign a replacement healer before changing class

  • Changing to cavalry because she has an armored tag: her personal ability directly prohibits riding and flying.
  • Staying in Castle Knight for Intercept without anyone covering her former healing role.
  • Confusing learnable, learned, and equipped. Check each mastery even when she joins in Part 3.
  • Stacking defenses without HP, leaving her unable to self-heal before high-damage follow-ups defeat her.
