Playing this class

Sentinel lets a spear user also heal: white-magic uses double, and healing allies restores an extra 10 HP. Switching between spear attacks and healing is especially helpful in long Hard-mode battles. Growth modifiers are HP, Strength, and Resistance +15, and Defense +10 percentage points.

Sentinel's status screen shows the class at the top left and an equipped spear in the center. The class skill column on the right lists Combat Arts +3, Magic Heal +10, and the white-magic-use skill.

Who benefits

  • Eshmel, Theodora, and Ninae can form spear-and-white-magic mainstays, combining durability, physical damage, and healing.
  • Orchel can repeatedly heal herself to maintain full HP and use Resolute Stance mastery.
  • Ultand can also use Sentinel for adjacent healing support. Carry a Silver Shield or Healing Staff for a support focus.

Training

It opens after the Promised One's story's first segment, with recommended level 45 and Spear A. Guardian is a common transition; train White Magic along the way. Spear A only covers the exam; learn the spells separately to heal.

It uses spears and white magic, has base Movement 5, and grants Combat Arts +3. Resolute Stance mastery requires full HP for Protection +5 in combat. If still injured next fight, the bonus is inactive; heal yourself or have an ally restore full HP before engaging.

When to use it

Keep it as a final class if the team lacks a unit who can fight and heal. Continue to The Trident for triple white-magic uses if you want to strengthen the role further. If that slot belongs to someone else, Sentinel is sufficient.

For a gauntlet combat art followed by support magic in the same turn, switch to War Monk to learn Strike and Heal.

If borrowing mastery only for full-HP damage reduction, prioritize reliable self-healers. Units who regularly engage while injured struggle to keep the 5-point benefit active.
