Playing this class

Diviner is the shared Beginner starting point for black and white magic, with Magic growth +15 and Resistance +10. Train spells here before specializing in offense or healing at Specialty. Mastery gives only Magic and Resistance +1 each, so do not stay long for those two points.

Diviner growth and exam: Magic 45→60 and Resistance 35→45 on the right, with Strength and Defense falling by 5 each. Choose Black or White Magic D at the lower left.

Who benefits

  • Dante: Diviner into Shaman, then Troubadour for mobile support with both schools.

Training route

Renown 1 and either Black Magic D or White Magic D, with recommended exam level 5. Uses swords, axes, gauntlets, and both magic schools, with proficiency experience bonuses for both. Train Black Magic for offense or White Magic for healing. Reclassing does not teach the full spell list automatically; check the character’s own spells first.

Strength and Defense growth are −5 each, with no Speed bonus. Let frontliners receive enemies while you cast from behind. Physical weapon access does not make it a Gladiator substitute; Gladiator’s weapon experience is better for a physical Specialty route.

When to leave

Promote once Specialty unlocks and the required magic is trained. Black Magic continues to Shaman for Magic, Speed, and Dexterity; healing continues to Priest. Take Magic Basics along the way. Beginner mastery gives little, so do not delay the next stage for Magic and Resistance +1 each.
