The first wave adds four special weapons, with related side quests on all four routes. The bow with three-tile range especially caught my attention as another ranged attack option.

Three waves from weapons to new companions

The announced Expansion Pass has three waves. The first provides four special weapons, the second adds divine allies, and the last brings quests for four new companions. I am most excited about those four joining later, but first I will buy it and examine wave one.

All four routes can trigger the related side quests, accessed through “Special Weapons” in the Expansion Pass.

The first wave’s three-tile bow

When the bow with three-tile range appeared, my first thought was that Peter now had company as a permanent range-3 attack option.

After reviewing the other weapons, my existing exclusive weapons remain appealing. For now, I have seen wave one. Next, I want to know how the new companions will change the team.

The update notice lists Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda: each route triggers its own side quest for special weapons.
