Chapter 3: Partings and HopesMinor spoilers
Recruit Guzran for extra strength and have Peter shoot through the fence. Use Cai’s Blaze Arts with two healers supporting him, then clear the soldiers on the right first in the final wave.
Complete the hairpin tutorial and invite
Guzran first. In the main battle, have Peter shoot through the fence while Cai clears enemies with Blaze Arts. Tialla and guest unit Ultand handle healing so Cai can keep fighting after using HP for Blaze Arts. Keep his allies out of Underworld Flame. Wait for the middle group to approach. When the final wave starts moving, clear the soldiers on the right before finishing Goliath. Even two enemies clustered together may need follow-up attacks.
Invite Guzran after returning the hairpin
Retrieve the girl's hairpin and return to complete the tutorial. Give Guzran Mature Ghosh, then choose Invite to recruit him. Do not stop after giving the gift and start spending your free time elsewhere.
Guzran joins as a Gladiator and cannot use spears. Even if you plan to make him a cavalry unit later, he needs to change class before equipping one.
Heal injured units before another field battle
Finishing a battle during free time does not automatically restore HP or spell uses. Check your remaining resources before traveling farther, and use base facilities if you need recovery. Do not force your way through the recommended-level-9 Rubes Forest when LP is low. Take the chests and retreat; you cannot even rest while enemies are chasing you. Equip Tialla with the Healing Staff once you obtain it. It increases spell healing by 10, letting her provide more healing.
If you have already entered an encounter with three characters at 1 HP, use Vulneraries or arrange healing first. Do not rush all three forward to finish enemies. They can kill at most two, leaving one enemy alive, and a single hit will down any of them.
Allow time to return and turn in requests
After completing a request battle, calculate the travel time back to town. Do not wait for free time to reach zero and send you home automatically before remembering to turn it in; requests expire when time runs out. You do not need to time your return to the last turn. Spend any time left on Auto-earn. If you are still in the field with only one turn remaining, you can also choose Auto-earn directly instead of fighting again.
Cut back on meals when money is tight. One meal costs 300, so ordering three dishes in succession can exhaust your funds. Existing allies can build support in battle; you do not need to keep giving gifts or dining just before the main battle. Before traveling far to buy equipment, check whether there is anything worth buying and save the trip if there is not.
Shoot through the fence and heal adjacent allies with Patch Up

Have Peter shoot through the fence at the start. If you have the Hunter's Bow, compare its damage with the Wooden Bow before attacking. Ultand's Patch Up restores a little HP to adjacent allies after they fight. Place units about to enter combat next to her so they receive healing afterward.

Two healers cover the HP cost of Blaze Arts
With Tialla and Ultand both healing, Cai can actively use Blaze Arts to kill enemies and recover the HP afterward. There is no need to keep saving them.
Move allies around Underworld Flame as they follow him. You have not unlocked the passive that prevents its effects on allies, so stepping into it still lowers Avoid. Do not have other units engage enemies while standing in the flames Cai leaves behind. If the middle group has not reached you, wait for it to approach before attacking again.
Clear the soldiers on the right in the final wave
Attack the soldiers on the right first near the end. Even if two enemies stand together, check whether you can kill them; do not assume one area attack will clear both. Follow up on survivors before finishing Goliath.
