Chapter 3: The Rose of Caelus

Use your four units to suppress enemy respawn points, then reserve actions to relight flames. Leave room for follow-ups and check horizontal, vertical, and diagonal captures.

Draft · Updated 2026-10-17

With your current 4 units, defeat the color-changing enemies first, then suppress their respawn points to reduce opportunities for them to flip your flames back. An enemy on a floor tile can survive four consecutive attacks. Leave room for finishing blows when planning suppression. Save later actions for restoring flames. Check horizontal, vertical, and diagonal captures when lighting them, and consider abilities that can reach two flames at once.

Opening: defeat the color-changing enemies

Prioritize enemies who change colors. Simply turning the flames ahead blue is not enough; an enemy can touch them once to change them back. Defeated enemies respawn on the opposite side, so after clearing those nearby, keep suppressing their respawn points to stop them returning and flipping colors repeatedly.

Suppression: leave actions for follow-up attacks

Keep actions available to finish enemies on floor tiles. Do not schedule one attack and count the target as defeated. Even four consecutive attacks may fail to finish one, delaying your suppression plan.

Finishing: restore flames and look for captures

Reserve actions to relight flames in the later phase instead of focusing only on suppressing enemies. When choosing a flame, check whether matching colors can sandwich opposing flames between them. Captures work horizontally, vertically, and diagonally, so lighting one flame can flip an entire line between the matching ends.

The red box shows a horizontal capture: matching flames at both ends sandwich a line between them and change its color.

When you need to change several flames at once, check Hexsong’s coverage. It changes flames within its area to your color.

Before restoring flames, also check whether your selected ability can cover two at once. If it can, one action restores both.
