Chapter 4: The Indelible Past

Take the brush at the start and focus the boss when reinforcements keep coming. You still need to escape afterward, so equip Blessings early and leave someone to cover the retreat.

Draft · Updated 2026-10-19

Take the brush at the start. If you are saving levels until after changing class, prioritize finishing blows for Olympia, who has already changed class. Keep casting to build magic proficiency instead of holding back for the entire map just to limit EXP. When reinforcements keep arriving, stop farming smaller enemies and focus on defeating the boss. You still need to escape afterward. Equip Blessings in advance, leave an ally to cover anyone being pursued, and finish wounded enemies blocking your retreat.

Restock gifts and spell uses during free time

Choose a few recruits to fill gaps in your party; you do not need everyone. Before giving gifts, buy inexpensive ones at the inn and give one to each person you want to approach.

Sleep until night and check nighttime requests before leaving town. Do not leave after checking only the daytime ones.

If healing uses are nearly exhausted, return to town and rest at the inn. Save cave exploration until afterward instead of entering with almost no healing left.

Equip Blessings and check Sword C

Confirm that Blessings are equipped before planning retreat positions that rely on an Avoid boost. If you forget, you cannot use the planned escape method when pursuit starts.

If you want Sirocco to use Levin Sword later, you can give it to him during free time, but check his Sword proficiency first: it requires Sword C. Reserve training money when buying weapons so stocking up early does not leave you unable to train.

If you have Chosen Sword, give it to Leda and have her sing beside allies. The sword grants adjacent allies 1 Defense.

Take the brush and let Olympia finish enemies

Your blue units start in the southeast. Check the brush around deployment before advancing toward enemies to the northwest.

Occupy the brush at the start. If you want to level after changing class, give as many kills as possible to Olympia, who has already changed. Still, do not leave Leda idle all map just because she is close to leveling. Keep using magic, or its proficiency will not improve either.

Your blue party occupies dark-green brush on the right, with open ground between them and enemies approaching from the left.

If immobilization prevents your planned move, use a Blaze Art from your current position instead.

Stop farming reinforcements and focus the boss

Reinforcements keep spawning as you advance. When ready to finish the boss, stop chasing lesser enemies and concentrate your attacks on the boss. If you are waiting to change class, farming pursuers also keeps adding Commoner levels.

You must still escape after the boss falls. Only after escaping can you go change classes.

Cover your retreat and clear the escape route

If someone risks being struck while retreating, leave an ally to cover them before moving on. Equip the Avoid Blessing before battle.

If an enemy on the escape route has 6 HP left, let someone who can finish it do so, then keep retreating. Deal with immediate threats rather than turning back to defeat every pursuer. Units waiting to level after changing class have even more reason to leave quickly.
