Before buying, confirm you have a Switch 2, then decide whether alternating exploration, army management, and tactical battles suits you. This September 9 pre-release introduction discusses ten topics in order.

1. Released only on the new console

The game releases only on Switch 2. The original Switch cannot run it, and there is no original-console version followed by an enhanced edition. If you lack a Switch 2, include the hardware cost. If you already own one, consider whether the gameplay suits your taste.

2. Reserve 29.5GB for installation

The announced pre-release installation size is 29.5GB, so digital buyers need enough space. Graphics, models, and audio all consume storage. File size does not directly measure content quantity.

GameSize listed in the video
Fortune's Weave29.5GB
Three HousesAbout 11.5GB
EngageAbout 16.5GB

3. Advance four protagonists' stories in parallel

The four enter the Heroic Games to save a father, find powerful opponents, fulfill a country's long-held wish, or seek revenge. Eshmel connects the stories. Switch protagonists to advance all four in parallel rather than finishing one route before seeing another.

4. Limited preparation time

Between matches, train, upgrade weapons, recruit, complete quests, and explore outside. Preparation turns are limited, so choose which needs to address first. Army management and character interactions also occupy part of the game's rhythm.

5. Explore the world map and dungeons

Visit world-map locations for quests, resources, and battles, and find equipment in dungeons. Favorite gifts and meal invitations build relationships before recruiting companions. Exploration, recruitment, and development all serve the next tactical battle.

6. Build your army for grid-based battles

Turn-based tactical combat remains the core. Classes, attack ranges, positioning, and character combinations determine battle performance. Added exploration does not remove the need to organize your army on the board.

7. Benefits of mouse controls

Joy-Con 2 supports mouse-style selection, attack-range checks, and unit movement. Tactical games require frequent selection, so try it if you enjoy that control style.

8. Check the console for Chinese support

Product information lists Simplified and Traditional Chinese, including on the Japanese physical cartridge. Software containing Chinese and a Japanese-language domestic console being able to switch text languages are separate questions. The latter also involves console restrictions and in-game settings.

Check both layers of Chinese support

Check both the software's included languages and your console version when buying. A cartridge listing Chinese does not make those two questions identical.

9. Digital download or game card

This video lists the following pre-release Japanese prices.

EditionOfficial Japanese price
Download8980 yen
Physical9980 yen

Digital's list price is 1000 yen lower and purchasing is convenient. Cartridges may have retailer discounts and can be resold after completion. Choose digital to start quickly, or consider a cartridge if you can wait for discounts and want to resell afterward.

10. Assess the training pace before buying

Enjoying stories, multiple protagonists, character development, and daily interactions makes the connected rhythm of city, map, dungeon, and tactics easier to embrace. If you prefer consecutive tactical maps and dislike town travel and relationship building, include the weight of preparation activities in your buying decision.
