Check recruitment requirements on the map’s character page

Press the right trigger to open the map, then press right twice on the D-pad to reach the character page. You can check everyone’s recruitment requirements for your current route. Some need high support, others high Renown. Review them first, then fast-travel to your target and give them their first gift.

Renown grows through story and quest progress, but support needs advance preparation. Aim to have support ready so you can recruit as soon as you reach the Renown requirement. Prepare any required items early too, rather than starting the errands only when recruitment becomes possible.

Prioritize recruitment targets for Sunday meals

Party members continue building relationships naturally through everyday combat. Characters you want to recruit lack those opportunities, so prioritize meals between the protagonist and recruitment targets at the inn.

Press X to check the calendar. Meals are half price on Sundays. Eat the available meals for the week, then use automated activities at the same inn to advance to the next week. Once meals refresh, repeat. The earlier you start, the less likely support is to block you later.

Check the support list too. Filter by your current protagonist and you will find that some early recruits have no support conversations with them. Note the relationships you want to see so you know whom to invite to meals later.

Chapter restarts retain support

Some chapters give you one hundred twenty turns. Spend them dining, giving gifts, and exploring, then choose Restart Chapter in the system menu near the end.

The item cost of restarting

After restarting, time and the items obtained during that attempt return to their chapter-opening state, but support gains remain. Characters who need more support can keep building it on another loop, and those gains also ease later routes. Use the same method to focus on one relationship you want to raise quickly.

Unlock discounts before shopping for gifts

Cheap gifts at the main market are worth buying, but the tavern deserves a visit too. You can pick up items nearby, and its gift merchant has affordable prices. Unlock the ten percent gift discount in Boons of Salvation at the Pale Raven’s Perch first. You will buy many gifts over time, so an early discount saves more.

Travel south from the capital to Megaira to use its facilities and enter the market, where snacks have unlimited stock. Stock up on cheap snacks too, and buy exam seals while there.

Once you know a target’s favorite gift, buy several and give one each week. Esmeralda’s profile says she likes handsome men, but her support conversations also reveal a sweet tooth. Watch for these preference clues beyond the first line of a profile.

Support activities after recruitment

Divine Service raises support, but only with recruited allies. The theater opens later, letting you watch or perform. Hot springs offer stat benefits as well as relationship gains. Keep including these activities in your schedule.

After a round of activities, advance to the next week and return for gifts and meals. To keep accumulating support, restart a chapter at a suitable point. Your support remains while you regain the chapter’s time.
