Chapter 11: Dagda’s CauldronMinor spoilers

Retreat toward the center and draw enemies off their Avo Spots. Use Cai to lure them, clear the final cluster with an area attack, and save Aurora’s action to finish.

Draft · Updated 2026-10-19

Bring Cai to lure enemies and an armored unit to cover your retreat. Save Aurora's action for a finishing blow near the end. Move toward the center at the start, away from the Avo Spots occupied by enemies. Do not crowd the whole party onto the initial healing tiles. Handle pursuers in groups, and use later Healing Circles when you can hold them safely. If you already have a chariot team, you can wait for all four to assemble before attacking. Use Cai's area attack on the final enemy cluster, then check counters and hit rates before finishing the axe wielder.

Complete paralogues and class changes before leaving

You have only 28 turns of free time, so plan ahead for the October 18 paralogue. Complete paralogues and planned class changes before starting the main-story outing with Aurora. Once it begins, you cannot move freely or detour for an exam. If you wait until after the main battle to remember the paralogue, this chapter's free time is already over.

Retreat toward the center at the start

Avo Spots add 40% Avoid, and healing tiles restore 30. Do not crowd everyone onto the starting position for the healing. Once enemies gather, they are hard to hit and it becomes difficult to escape their range. Move toward the center first to draw them off the Avo Spots. Check distant mages' ranges before acting, too, rather than counting only nearby enemies.

The party starts on special floor tiles under an expanding purple attack overlay. Nearby enemies are closing in from above.

If pursuers have already caught up, leave your armored unit behind to block their route to your allies. Move pegasus riders down early rather than waiting for archers to close in before looking for somewhere to land. After retreating, check that you are actually outside enemy range.

Lure with Cai or gather four chariots

Approach 1: Lure enemies with Cai. Once clear of the dangerous opening, send Cai out to draw a wave, then have allies clear the archers. When a group of armored enemies appears later, fall back another step and wait for them to spread out as they approach. The goal is to draw enemies off the Avo Spots. You do not need to turn back just to occupy a Healing Circle; if you can eliminate them before they attack, do so from your current safe position.

Approach 2: Assemble four chariots. If you already have a chariot team and the enemies are not charging, wait until all four are in position, then attack together.

You can engage enemies from the later Healing Circles as you advance. However, if Cai cannot return after using his area attack, wait for the enemies to move farther in. Check whether he can get back near the party afterward, not just how many targets he can hit.

Check hit rates before finishing enemies

Once the final enemies cluster, clear a group with Cai's area attack and surround the survivors. Against the last axe wielder, check the counterattack forecast first. Even with several allies still waiting to act, the current attacker may die to the counter before they can help.

Compare hit rates for each finishing option instead of judging by the Killing Edge or combat art's name alone. Switching combat arts here can lower hit to 8%, while another finishing option has only 39%; either can miss. Keep Aurora's action available so she can take over when low-hit finishers are unreliable. Compare Flowing Spear and Holy Spear, then choose the one that secures the kill.

Feed your wyverns before changing classes in Chapter 12

At the start of Chapter 12, units switching to wyvern classes can finish feeding their wyverns before changing class. If a unit is one level short of the target class, level up before taking the exam. When two level-34 units have only a 50% pass rate, gain that extra level first.

Check your materials before upgrading weapons so you do not find that the whole batch needs the same missing material. Mine what you need first, then return to upgrade.
