Among prerelease details, growth rates, weapon costs, and separate four-route progress matter most for early planning. Check character growth before choosing classes, then decide whether to finish routes separately or alternate between them.

A customizable avatar and four fighters

The game is a Switch 2 exclusive, with a traditional data cartridge for the physical version. You can customize the protagonist’s body, skin tone, hairstyle, and clothing style. The opening confronts Balor, the Demon God: fight directly or use the time god’s power to return five years and change the fate of four doomed warriors.

The Heroic Games are about to begin then, with a wish promised to the champion. Cai wants to save his father, Dietrich seeks powerful opponents, Theodora fights for her country, and Leda searches for the person who ruined her life. Four motives lead to different stories.

Combat arts cost durability, while Blaze Arts cost HP

Characters can change classes, changing their available weapons too. Normal attacks consume no durability; combat arts do. Some increase damage, while others extend attack range.

Blaze Arts instead spend the user’s HP for powerful area attacks or teleportation. Battle rewinding lets you adjust mistaken actions step by step, with usage limits on Hard. The prerelease introduction presented Normal and Hard as the two difficulties.

Preparation activities and visible growth rates

In town, you can train, build support with characters, and recruit. The inn offers automatic training for experience, while outside town you find skirmishes and labyrinth chests. World exploration expands preparation activities, and fast travel takes you directly to chosen locations or near characters, reducing repeated walking.

Compare growth rates before training

Growth rates are visible directly. Compare characters and classes for the stats you want, then plan class changes. That gives training more direction than relying on intuition alone.

Separate progress for all four routes

You can switch the current fighter in the main city, with separate progress saved for all four routes. Follow one person first or alternate among all four.

I find the latter appealing as a mystery: an event seen on one route may receive another explanation elsewhere. Combining viewpoints gradually reveals the whole world.
