Carryover between routesMinor spoilers

There is no separate New Game Plus. Clear one protagonist’s Part 1, then start the next route from Chapter 1 to carry over Blessings, exploration, and shared side quests. Restarting a chapter and descending again work differently.

Clear Part 1 and start the next route at Chapter 1 for full carryover

Clear one protagonist's Part 1, then start the next route from Chapter 1 to carry over maps, Blessings, and shared side quests.

There is no separate New Game Plus. The game uses one progress save with multiple protagonist routes.

  • If you only switch protagonists: Global features such as supports and Boons of Salvation are shared, but exploration, Blessings, and shared side quests may not carry over.
  • For full carryover into a new route: Return to the Obelisk Chamber, select the option to replay from any chapter on the target route, and specifically choose Chapter 1. You will replay the opening rather than continue the old route from Chapter 4.
  • To change difficulty or mode: Use Descend Again. You do not need to replay all of Part 1. To redo a move in battle, use Fate Reversal.

Why did nothing carry over after switching protagonists?

A route started early does not automatically receive progress from a later clear. In one documented case, all four protagonists had reached Chapter 4, where route switching becomes available. After clearing Cai’s route, continuing Dietrich’s route did not carry over exploration and other progress. The fix was to replay Dietrich’s Chapter 1 from the Obelisk, creating a new start with the latest completed-route progress.

Replaying the opening saves time later. In one recorded replay, skipping previously seen scenes took about 1 hour to regain the old position, but revealed maps and automatically completed shared quests saved more time afterward.

Clear one route before starting the next to reduce backtracking. Returning to Chapter 7 for a paralogue, for example, also means replaying later chapters, so finish one route before starting another. Money, items, and Renown levels do not directly carry between routes.

Another replay example shows what fails: returning from Chapter 11 to Chapter 1 without finishing Part 1 resets maps, stations, and Blessings. Players who cleared a route but only returned to Chapter 10 or 12 also missed the exploration and side-quest carryover available when starting from Chapter 1. You need both a full clear and a Chapter 1 start.

What carries over, and when?

Shared globally and immediatelyCarried into Chapter 1 after clearing Part 1Does not directly carry between routes
Support points between characters; White Crow affinityWorld-map exploration and gathering-point information; check each route’s conditions for actually using stationsRenown level
Notable Deeds completion records; Karma ShardsCompleted shared side quests automatically resolve at their corresponding stageMoney and items
Unlocked Boons of SalvationBlessing levels, including progress toward the next levelCharacter levels and trained stats
Eligibility for unlocked classes, except DancerEligibility for unlocked hidden classes also carries into a full new-route startRecruited allies; you must meet their recruitment requirements again

“Class eligibility” differs from “this character has certified into and mastered the class.” Eligibility gives other routes more certification choices. A character’s class and mastery are training progress and do not transfer for free just because you switch routes. Classes and Boons of Salvation can be shared before clearing a route; hidden-class unlocks should not all be treated as requiring a Part 1 clear before they take effect.

Dancer is an exception to normal cross-route class sharing. Its unlock is tied to quests in Leda’s story, and its availability expands in the Salvation story. See the Dancer build.

Support carryover also depends on when the points were earned. Support on ordinary protagonist routes is retained. Support points gained in Part 3 require restarting a protagonist's route from Chapter 1 to carry over. A global record does not mean every previously opened chapter refreshes the same snapshot in real time.

Gates and waystations still need unlocking on a new route

Map records remain, but you still need to unlock gates and waystations on the new route before you can pass through or travel by carriage. Check the routes actually available before setting out.

Three exceptions for maps and side quests

  • Cai must still complete the side quest that opens stations. Inherited exploration does not bypass his own unlock quest. You must meet that requirement again.
  • Shared side quests award money and Renown chapter by chapter. All twelve chapters’ rewards do not arrive in Chapter 1. Paralogues and protagonist-specific quests, including Leda’s tour, the queen’s war preparations, and Cai’s requests to help people, are excluded from automatic completion.
  • Do not assume temple monster-clearing quests are complete. Some recorded temple quests to defeat golems did not resolve automatically and still had to be completed manually.

“Does not carry over” in the Renown table does not contradict automatic side quests awarding Renown. Your old Renown level does not transfer; the new route awards completed quests’ rewards again when you reach their corresponding chapters. You must still recruit allies again. Maximum Renown on the previous route does not make them join automatically.

What do you lose when restarting a chapter?

Restarting restores a chapter snapshot. It does not take this chapter’s growth back to the chapter’s opening. You can select it at the Obelisk, through the White Crow, or in the relevant menu. The Obelisk also lets you choose earlier chapters. The further back you go, the less of your later training and supplies remain on the current route.

RevertedRetained
Character levels, skills, and stat changes gained during the chapterSupport points

Renown gained, allies recruited, quests completed, and rewards earned during the chapterCompleted-route clear records, until another clear updates them
Divine Service contributions made during the chapterCross-route carryover eligibility from a completed route, still subject to new-route rules

A completed Part 1 record is not immediately overwritten just because you replay earlier chapters. Finish Chapter 12 again to replace that clear record. Supports remain, but Divine Service rolls back: restarting a chapter undoes the Divine Service performed during it.

Descend Again changes settings and keeps all four routes

To lower Hard to Normal, use the Altar of Causality directly. Use this procedure to raise difficulty or change modes. See Difficulty and modes.

Save at the Obelisk before using Descend Again
  1. 1
    Return to the Obelisk Chamber
through the Pale Raven, and save manually at the Obelisk.
  2. 2
Select Descend Again from the title screen
return to the title screen through the system menu and select Descend Again.
  3. 3
Replay the prologue and resume your route
after returning to the Obelisk, continue your original route.

This changes difficulty, Casual/Classic mode, and the Promised One's name and appearance. The estimate is about 20 minutes even when skipping scenes. All four protagonists' story progress, training, and Boons of Salvation remain. Purchased Boons of Salvation are not cleared, and this cannot refund shards.

Track characters and supplies separately from Part 2 to Part 3

SpoilersData integration, Merge Causality, and the Reliquary

Check when records are saved and when they are applied. After Part 2 results update, check whether those changes have been applied to your current Part 3.

StageWhat is saved or appliedCheck before proceeding
Replay and clear Part 1Creates a new Part 2 starting record; use it from Part 2, Chapter 1After clearing Part 1, you still need to process Part 2 results to update Part 3 character records
Clear or skip Part 2Updates the same route’s best character records; stats, skills, and other fields retain their higher values individually rather than replacing the entire recordDo not apply the rule of taking each higher character stat to supplies or mounts
Enter Part 3, or restart a section after Part 3 has begunEntering Part 3 and refreshing existing progress are separate stagesCheck whether character records have been applied; restarting a section rolls back current progress
Pay for Merge Causality at the Part 3 altarOnce unlocked, applies training records from other routes according to the preview, for 300 shards per character per useStats are neither added together nor averaged across four routes

After each results screen, check character records, the current Part 3 state, and stored supplies separately.

Repeated training on the same route uses free data integration. Completing the same protagonist's Part 2 multiple times retains each higher stat for the same character, along with skills and other training results, without spending Karma Shards. After replaying Part 1, start Part 2 from Chapter 1 using the new clear data, then clear it or choose to skip it to update the record. Clearing Part 1 alone does not complete integration; you must process Part 2 results too.

Cross-route training requires Merge Causality in Part 3. This unlocks at the Altar of Karma after clearing Part 3, Section 1. You need records of that character recruited and trained on another route. Each use costs 300 Karma Shards per character. Values take the higher result rather than being added together. See Building characters with Merge Causality for training plans, previews, and the risk of restarting after fusion.

Accounts differ on when supplies are recorded. One explanation uses the first Part 2 clear as the snapshot for weapons, materials, mounts, and Battalions. The initial record carries over normally; supplies acquired on later replays enter the Reliquary and cost shards to retrieve. One example even charged 100 shards for Horse Manure, so do not treat “replay later for equipment” as free restocking.

Under this explanation, learn the route in Part 1, replay it to organize supplies if needed, then complete Part 2 for the first time once everything is ready. Characters can be integrated repeatedly, but supply snapshots do not follow the same logic. To leave room for Master-class growth starting at level 45 in Part 3, keep your Part 2 level at or below 45 and save levels for Master-class growth. Exceeding level 45 still lets you reclass.

Updating an already-started Part 3 has further conditions. One explanation says it will not update directly once Part 3 has begun. Another record says non-protagonists may need Section 2 restarted before changes appear, while protagonist changes can apply directly. See the folded records below. Restarting a section rolls back current progress. Organize the training and supplies you want to keep before deciding to restart.

Separate same-route updates from cross-route fusion first. Same-route character records update after Part 2 results, while cross-route training is applied at the Part 3 altar. Identify the menu, protagonist route, and latest Part 2 results before checking shard costs.

Additional Chinese-language tests: record the save stage before judging carryover

Check record updates in three steps. Replaying Part 1 through the end of Chapter 12 overwrites Part 2’s starting data; it does not immediately take the higher values within Part 1. Clearing or skipping Part 2 from that new starting point then updates the same route’s best character records. For an existing Part 3, records also indicate that new training for non-protagonists may require restarting Section 2 to appear, while protagonist updates can appear directly. Check “the Part 2 results changed” separately from “the current Part 3 characters changed.” Simply switching back to Part 3 is not enough to conclude that integration failed. Restarting a section rolls back current progress, so review the loss table above first.

For repeated same-route training without shard costs, verify every updated field. A follow-up test record states that stats, levels, black magic learned from records, certified classes, class specialization, and mastery abilities can all update for free by replaying Parts 1 and 2. That gives you more fields to check than the stat screen alone. After each training cycle, compare stats, skills, class eligibility, and mastery results separately.

Explanations still differ for ordinary equipment and mounts. One conservative approach is to unequip everything into storage, though each stage was not tested individually; another explanation says ordinary equipment need not be removed, the normal item inventory locks at Part 1 results and can be overwritten by later Part 1 results before Part 2 is completed, and mounts update to their latest state with Part 2 character records. The claim that equipment must be removed also remains unresolved in the records. Organize character training, ordinary equipment, and mounts separately, then inspect the current state and storage after results.

The disagreement over same-route fees also remains: one record charges 300 for the same route, while another distinguishes free updates at Part 2 results from paid cross-route fusion at the Part 3 altar. When checking, record which menu, which route, and which Part 2 clear came beforehand, rather than only saying “I used fusion once.”

Update the War story record after every training cycle. Dietrich, who cannot be recruited across routes, is one example. Focus each Part 1 run on one or two weak stats, then clear or skip the War story to update his record and bring the individual higher values into Part 3. This requires repeated runs through Parts 1 and 2 and suits intensive optimization. Dietrich cannot be recruited on another protagonist's route, so train him through same-route replays. Stats take the higher value individually; they are not added together.

Which Boons of Salvation should you buy first?

Each protagonist’s first Part 1 clear awards 5000 shards, for 20000 across all four. This is the total of four first-clear rewards, not an infinitely repeatable reward. Notable Deeds provide separate one-time objective rewards.

One approach is to boost earned EXP first, then class/skill EXP, reducing repetitive training. There is a counterexample: if Part 1 certification permits and Renown unlocks lag behind, fast EXP can leave you stuck in an old class and make it harder to benefit from a new class’s growths.

Toggle EXP boosts to suit your training goals
Enable EXP boosts to progress faster

Enable EXP boosts to reduce leveling time. Certification permits and Renown unlocks may fall behind.

Disable EXP boosts around class changes when needed

Prepare certification resources first. If necessary, turn off EXP-boosting Boons of Salvation before entering a chapter and keep only skill-related boosts, so you do not level too quickly in an old class.

Unlocked Boons of Salvation can be toggled. You can also disable them to preserve the difficulty of later routes. See Advanced Blessing use for the two cost-reduction tiers, tested costs, and disputed unlock conditions.

What can you do after the ending?

After clearing the game, you return to before the final battle and can continue or replay chapters from earlier parts. There is no separate New Game Plus campaign. You can finish other routes, recruit more characters, and train them again.

The same rules apply when revisiting content: chapter replays restore snapshots, new-route carryover requires Chapter 1, and character integration differs from supply carryover. Seeing the ending does not mean every rollback preserves equipment you just acquired.
