A three-unit Hard Classic clear: outlasting Balor and splitting lanes against LyrahMajor spoilers
Eshmel holds the line with lances, Hong Hua deals ranged damage, and Troy handles the flank and healing. Prepare the levels, weapons, and positions needed for both boss battles.
Original video: Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave — A three-unit Promised One army clear on Hard Classic | Bilibili creator Nintendo Luohua no Bailong.
The team consists of
Eshmel,
Troy, and
Hong Hua. Eshmel takes close-range attacks and counters with lances. Troy clears the other flank and heals, while Hong Hua uses ranged magic to chip and finish enemies. Establish a sustainable cycle of taking damage and restoring one another before wearing down the bosses. Against Lyrah, Eshmel approaches alone. Against Balor, the other two stay to the north while Eshmel holds the boss's west side and handles approaching regular enemies.
Three-unit setups for two boss battles
The video shows Part 1's Balor battle before Part 2's Lyrah battle, with different levels in each. Against Balor, Eshmel is level 99, Hong Hua rises from 89 to 90, and Troy from 94 to 95. Against Lyrah, they are 75, 71, and 80 respectively. This is a high-level endurance strategy, so prepare the stats before copying positions.
| Unit | Class and equipment | Battle role |
|---|---|---|
Eshmel | The Trident; Javelin +3, Silver Spear +3, Shining Spear +2, Chosen Lance +3 | Take attacks and counter, switch lances according to range and damage, and use Purifying Flash on targets normal attacks cannot finish |
Troy | The Godhand; Zerberus +3 | Clear flank enemies, stay effective through Avoid and magical attacks, and use Heal on allies when needed |
Hong Hua | The Avatar; Salamander +4, Royal Sword +2; Bolting, Thoron, Bolganone, Agnea's Arrow, Glass Wheel | Cast and heal from the rear; handle enemies that resist physical damage |
Hong Hua's ability list includes Zhu Ming, All-Magic Zenith, Magic Hit +10, Magic Avoid +20, Black-Magic Mastery, Bind Resistance, Amplify Magic+, Bind Speed, and Divine Law. At level 89 against Balor, she has 96 Magic and 76 Resistance. With Salamander +4, her magical Attack is 114 and Attack Speed 58. These stats explain her sustained ranged contribution and why a newly reclassed Hong Hua cannot be expected to survive the same hits.
Eshmel holds Balor's west side
The victory condition in Balor Temple is to defeat Balor; Eshmel's defeat causes failure. Danger zones and reinforcements keep appearing. Chasing regular enemies with all three units separates your healing from your main damage.
Hong Hua and Troy mainly stay north to support one another. Eshmel moves west of Balor and uses Javelin +3 against approaching wyverns, lance users, and mages. Against a Bau Lord with 73 HP, the Javelin forecast shows 52 damage per hit, a follow-up attack, 100% Hit, and only 5 counterattack damage. Switch to a Silver Spear against nearby targets. Eshmel handles these consecutive fights while the other two maintain their HP, without entering the center for every finishing blow.
As Hong Hua runs out of Bolting and Thoron uses, keep using remaining Bolganone or Agnea's Arrow casts, or attacks with equipped weapons. She falls as low as 19 HP, and Troy as low as 18 HP. However slowly the turns progress, heal before engaging the next wave. Check lance durability in this endurance fight, too, switching to spare lances when Javelin and Silver Spear run low.
Keep a healing route open between Hong Hua and Troy. One Heal forecast in the Balor battle restores 40 HP to Hong Hua. If the pair is too far apart, you will need extra movement or items next turn.
Balor's purple barrier repeatedly returns. While it is active, focus on survival and clear enemies approaching Eshmel. When it drops and damage becomes possible, attack Balor again. Finally, Eshmel attacks from the west with Shining Spear +2. The forecast shows 22 damage per hit, a follow-up attack, 100% Hit, and a 4-damage Nether Dragon Roar counterattack. Balor reaches 0 HP and the post-battle story begins.
Split lanes against both flanks in Lyrah's battle
Advance from the north. Hong Hua and Troy handle enemies approaching from above and the right, while Eshmel moves south along the path slightly left of center. Ponds are impassable on foot, and ruins and rocks divide the paths. Choose destinations along walkable land rather than measuring Movement in a straight line.
Zombie dragons have multiple HP bars. Eshmel removes a bar with lances and Purifying Flash, then the other two add damage. When Hong Hua uses Thoron against a 90 HP zombie dragon, the forecast shows 22 damage per hit and a follow-up attack, yet 46 HP remains. Treat this as chip damage, rather than expecting one spell to defeat the entire enemy.
Once Eshmel nears Lyrah, the northern pair should keep clearing regular enemies instead of crowding south. Lyrah is level 69 with 73 HP and Light of Thanatos: range 1–4, magical Attack 85, and Hit 186. Standing two tiles away still leaves you in range. One forecast showed Eshmel taking 36 counterattack damage and falling to 13 HP, making another direct hit dangerous.
Heal before engaging, then let Hong Hua finish
After taking damage in the south, Eshmel retreats north while the other two approach to help. A Concoction restores 40 HP. Hong Hua also carries Concoctions, Dew of Protection, and Elixirs. The forest terrain panel shows +30% Avoid. Use the woods to arrange engagements, but still check the full Hit and damage forecast.
After removing Lyrah's extra HP bars, keep rotating the three units through approaching, withdrawing, and healing. Finally, move Hong Hua into range for Glass Wheel. The forecast shows 55 damage per hit, a follow-up attack, 90% Hit, and a 23-damage counterattack. She attacks at 44 HP and defeats Lyrah. This finish satisfies both the damage and survival requirements; checking total damage alone is not enough.
