Find the girl’s hairpin after registration closes
Cai,
Peter, and
Tialla reach the capital hoping to rescue his father through the Heroic Games, only to discover registration has closed. Even with a repechage, adults struggle to trust three children alone. Instead of immediately vowing to defeat powerful foes, help townspeople in trouble to raise Renown.
The first request fits naturally: a child lost a hairpin at the mine exit and is afraid to return now that bandits have appeared. The Maiden’s Hair Ornament request ends on February 28. After accepting, check its deadline and progress in the adventure handbook, then leave through the gate. The tutorial turns a wish to rescue someone into an achievable action.
Recover and resupply between battles outside town
Touching enemies on the world map starts skirmishes that earn experience, support, and items. A third-party enemy sometimes appears; defeat it before it escapes for extra rewards.
HP and spell uses do not automatically refill after battles during free time, so do not simply charge into the next fight. Check your condition before entering a labyrinth and recover at facilities such as an inn. Once you unlock Feasts, ingredients can also restore the entire party's HP and spell uses while raising support. Recovery varies with the types and quantities of ingredients. :::
New labyrinth exits can change your route home
The mine contains roaming enemies, treasure chests, and quest items. Enemies do not respawn until the next chapter starts, and you can reenter to gather more materials. Finding and leaving through another exit also opens a new path on the world map.
After collecting the hairpin, I continue deeper and emerge on the other side. Another enemy blocks the return journey, but the new path lets the party go around to the south and avoid another battle. That creates a real sense of adventure: exploring farther means more than finding extra chests. It can change how you get home.
Helping people builds Renown and leads to Guzran
Returning the hairpin brings the child's thanks and a Renown increase. Next comes inviting companions.
Tialla first reminds you to prepare gifts, then you can check recruitment requirements in character information.
After receiving a fermented drink,
Guzran offers the services of “the immortal
Guzran.” His lines are exaggerated, but the three children now have dependable fighting strength after the registration setback, giving them more confidence in the Heroic Games. Helping, raising Renown, gifting, and recruitment form one complete tutorial.
Check Pale Raven advice before spending free time
Once free time properly begins, you can adventure on the world map or strengthen your army through town facilities until your turns reach zero. World-map movement and entering or leaving bases and labyrinths cost turns. Most town facilities instead cost gold or Motivation.
The Pale Raven perch provides information about main-story battles, including recommended levels, classes, weapons, and deployment limits. Check those targets before planning leveling and equipment purchases. You do not need to maximize every stat right at the start.
Pale Raven interactions improve bond assistance
When
Eshmel takes the form of the Pale Raven and rests on the perch, companions can offer food and interact briefly. Playing as the bird, choose reactions that make them happy to increase support. Repeatedly choosing unsuitable reactions can also make for a funny scene.
Higher support improves the chance of receiving help through bond assistance in battle. This connects the young companions' conversations, battlefield rescues, and relaxed interactions in town.
Cai's talk of an “ordinary family,” paired with his father's absurdly strict training, also makes the trio's conversations entertaining.
