Complete paralogues for Part 3 recruitment

Secondary protagonists' paralogue prerequisites

Talimun, Orchel, Bertrand, and Anatolia each have a paralogue. To recruit one in Part 3, complete that character's paralogue on at least one protagonist's Part 1 route.

Part 2 also has hidden, route-exclusive companions you can encounter in Dietrich's and Leda's stories. Cai's and Theodora's stories do not offer the same recruitment opportunities. If you want everyone, consider your route choices in advance.

New players can start with Cai

For learning the systems and getting through the opening, I recommend starting with Cai's story most. He is strong, and you get to experience capturing and planting. Mounts provide passive effects and growth bonuses, while growing crops saves many actions you would otherwise spend searching for rare plants.

Theodora's story works well as your second route. If you enjoy constant battles, you can start with Dietrich instead. Leda focuses more on expanding the setting. She is a support protagonist whose own combat is somewhat weaker early on, but her route unlocks Dancer. Who you play first depends on which content you want to experience most.

Carry Support and abilities across routes

Affinity between the same characters carries across routes. Choosing to restart from the current chapter also preserves affinity. Meals and gifts you invested earlier can save considerable effort when recruiting the same person later.

Each protagonist's Part 1 route has companions who cannot join. If you have a favorite, first check which route lets you recruit them. In Part 3, companions obtained across the routes come together. Characters you trained more than once combine the highest value of each individual stat from all routes.
