Why Guzran works as an early evasive frontlinerMinor spoilers
Low recruitment requirements on Cai’s and Leda’s routes, high Speed, and random combat bonuses let him fill a front-line slot early.

Guzran is worth recruiting early because he arrives when the party needs a frontliner, with Speed and random combat bonuses supporting follow-ups and Avoid. The focus here is early value on
Cai’s and
Leda’s routes. Without spending heavily on Support, you gain a physical companion who can last through the endgame. “Immortal” is his trademark, but his actual survival relies on dodging. Do not treat him as high-Defense heavy armor.

Low recruitment requirements fill the front line
Cai’s story requires only Support 1 and Renown 2; Leda’s requires Support 1 and Renown 3. Low Support avoids an upfront recruitment expense. Earlier deployment also means enjoying his personal ability sooner.
Cai’s early team especially lacks reliable units to receive attacks. Guzran reduces hits through Avoid rather than lowering damage through high defense, then uses Speed for follow-ups. Filling that role early gives him value without needing to prove he is the game’s strongest character.
Only one stat receives a random bonus each combat
Hot-Headed randomly improves one of Hit, Avoid, or Critical in combat. The base bonus is 10, rising to 15 with
Top Form and 20 at level 35 with
Top Form+. All three help early: Hit improves unreliable attacks, Avoid may help receive enemies, and Critical may add Burst. Only one applies at a time. Do not add all three to the forecast.
These bonuses help his physical growth perform, but cannot guarantee a particular enemy attack will miss.
Sirocco also has an Avoid-oriented personal ability, while Guzran includes Hit and Critical in the random pool. Their effects differ.
Guzran's combat stats as a Myrmidon
His personal growth total is 335%, without overwhelming others through sheer total. HP and Strength are 45% each, Speed 50%, Dexterity 45%, Defense 35%, Resistance 20%, Luck 45%, Charm 30%, and Magic only 20%. Growth concentrates on physical offense, follow-ups, and Hit, with little in Magic.
This run’s level-30
Myrmidon Guzran has 29 Strength, 30 Attack Speed, and 18 Dexterity. Defense and Resistance are low, but Avoid lets him keep receiving attacks. The end-of-Part-1 display shows 32 Avoid, before the random personal bonus. These are examples from this save. If your Strength and Speed have not grown, the same kill and tanking plans will not transfer directly.
Endgame viability does not mean invulnerability
On the completed Hard-mode run, Guzran stayed through the final battle and contributed meaningfully. He is worth training from early on, but low Defense and Resistance still require Avoid for survival and follow-ups and criticals for damage.
His exaggerated confidence, love of alcohol, and sociability also make him memorable. The opening personal song and “good luck stat” are jokes. His reliability still comes from early availability, Speed growth, and random bonuses with opportunities in every combat.
