Chapter 8: Rendezvous With TroyMinor spoilers

Clear the fog and deal with mages first, with Loretta taking enemy attacks. Use the ranged opening when Nuzzuo approaches, then follow butterfly counts through the Lost Forest after battle.

Draft · Updated 2026-10-19

Defeat Nuzzuo within 20 turns. Build your squad around 8 deployment slots, with Loretta as an Avoid-based frontliner. Make sure you have room to deploy a unit before recruiting them. Clear the fog at the start to locate enemies. Once mages appear, eliminate them on your turn instead of sending Loretta deep into the fog to face several at once. When Nuzzuo approaches, check whether he can attack before committing your own actions. If you want to keep clearing the map, activate a blessing before advancing. After battle, you still need to cross the Lost Forest. Choose exits with 1, 3, 2, 1, and 3 butterflies in that order.

Restart after three meals to retain support

Save before using meals to raise support. After eating all three meals that day, restart the chapter and check the support values you just gained. Once you confirm they remain, keep arranging meals for prospective recruits; you do not need to finish the entire route to carry this support over. Raise the support of units you plan to use first, then head out.

Build support first and hold off on recruiting anyone without a deployment slot. Unrecruited characters level up with your progress. Recruiting them early only to bench them loses those level gains. Fill gaps based on this chapter’s 8 slots, and recruit when someone can replace a current unit and deploy immediately.

Equip Dodge and build Loretta’s Speed

If Loretta will take enemy attacks, equip Dodge and her Avoid bonuses before battle. To stack Speed with Beatdown, bring a cheap pair of gauntlets specifically for the Combat Art. It costs 3 durability and grants Speed +1 after combat. When using cheap gauntlets to build Speed, weigh that against the Avoid from Dodge Gauntlets.

If Loretta fails her Pugilist exam at a 45% success rate, the game forcibly overwrites the save and you lose 500. Reloading does not avoid the cost. If her gauntlet proficiency is still short, make her a Brigand, which can use gauntlets, and keep her on the front line while training them.

Each fog-clearing device works only once

Your army deploys in the northeast. Enemies line a diagonal passage, with additional units on the northwest platform and in the small southeast area.

Use a fog-clearing device at the start to locate Nuzzuo and nearby enemies. Each device works only once, and the reveal lasts only for the current action phase. Choose your targets while the map is visible; do not expect to return and keep using the same fan. Before battle, also confirm that you brought Credna’s vision-granting blessing so you do not discover it is missing only after reaching an area with hidden mages.

The circular device in the yellow square southeast of your squad clears fog. Reveal the map here first, then choose this action phase’s targets.

Kill mages first after revealing the map. Save actions for initiating attacks before advancing farther into fog. Once you approach those three mages, Loretta may withstand other enemies but fail against the whole group of casters. If only one enemy comes out, do not chase it into the fog. You cannot see where the other mages have moved; keep drawing them out to fight.

Hold for approaching enemies or advance with blessings

Approach 1: hold your front line and let enemies come. When one side is nearly clear, put Loretta forward to take the next wave. Save mages for kills on your own turn. This costs time waiting for enemies to approach but avoids chasing unrevealed mages through fog. Even if enemies have Hit only in the twenties or thirties, do not plan repeated engagements around guaranteed dodges: all three low-Hit attacks can still land.

Approach 2: activate a blessing before clearing the map. If you want a full rout, activate a blessing before the whole army advances. Another group remains hidden in the fog and appears only as you move forward. If enemies remain next turn, activate another blessing. Continuing the advance requires repeated blessing use.

Keep advancing Wing Soldiers away from the two Archers. Do not fly around only to stop in front of them. Account for Critical when checking survival too. A unit who survives normal hits may still fall to an enemy crit.

Shoot Nuzzuo with a Longbow while he is blocked

Check Nuzzuo’s position again while waiting for enemies; he approaches on his own. If he is blocked and cannot currently attack your units, use that opening for ranged attacks, including a Longbow. Check Hit before spending an action.

If Hit is too low for the finish, activate a Hit buff before committing your remaining attacks. If you need lifesteal to stay alive, confirm that you can actually drain HP. Otherwise, calculate incoming damage from your current HP, especially while enemies remain.

Choose Lost Forest exits by butterfly count

Continue the main story after defeating Nuzzuo. In the Lost Forest, 1, 3, 2, 1, 3 refers to the number of butterflies at each exit. Count again at every junction instead of treating these as exit numbers from left to right. On the third step, find the exit with 2 butterflies; the direction will not always match earlier steps.
