Check the next battle’s information before planning training, weapons, Blessings, and recruitment. In battle, account for terrain, adjacent support, and Combat Art costs together. Preparation and growth on the four routes ultimately lead into the shared battle for salvation.
Choose a route through each contender’s wish
All four protagonists enter the Heroic Games with a wish they cannot abandon.
Cai comes for his abducted father,
Dietrich seeks challenges against powerful opponents, and
Theodora carries the weight of her kingdom and faith. Each character offers a different starting point in the tournament.
Terrain, support, and combat art costs matter
Bows reach distant targets and are especially effective against flying units. Magic can target heavily armored enemies that physical attacks struggle to handle. Terrain changes your Avoid, and standing beside allies provides stat support. Your destination and the allies beside you both matter.
Beyond normal attacks, you can use combat arts that consume weapon durability. Some increase power, while others extend Range. Choose what the situation calls for.
Blaze Arts trade HP for effects that can turn a battle, including summoning powerful monsters.
If you make a mistake, you can rewind time to an earlier action.
Classes determine roles and weapon access
Classes change stats, available weapons, and Movement. Sword users, mounted units, and white magic users fill different roles. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes unlock gradually, with more specialized options appearing along the way.
Armored Knight absorbs damage with heavy armor,
Wing Soldier crosses obstacles, and
Charioteer charges in straight lines. Higher tiers include
Cataphract, which combines mounted mobility with armored Defense, and
Guardian, which uses weapons and white magic. Decide what a unit should do, then choose a class that gives them those tools.
Plan each week around your next opponent
You have a limited preparation period between matches and receive information about your next opponent’s strength in advance. Use that time to train skills, learn combat arts, and meet the requirements for stronger weapons. You can also watch matches to study opponents.
Buy weapons and items in town, then improve them with materials you collect. Weekly Temple Service lets you gain divine Blessings as another tool in battle. To change classes, visit the Certification Exam official and meet the subject and exam requirements before taking the test.
Recruiting allies and exploring the world
People in town offer requests with rewards. To recruit other warriors, give them favorite gifts and invite them to meals to deepen your relationship. At the inn, you can spend turns automatically gathering experience and materials, and watch events between characters with stronger bonds.
Outside town, you can buy local specialties and gather information. Encountering enemies starts small battles. Dungeons contain weapon upgrade materials and treasure, while monster encounters can trigger Clashes with linked attacks alongside allies. Each protagonist also has exclusive activities, giving their preparation periods different ways to play.
Return to the past to save future allies
Five years after the Heroic Games, the revived Balor brings a new crisis. You can face that future directly or use the power to control time to return five years earlier and change the four contenders’ fates.
Those who successfully reach the future become your allies in battle. Their tournament preparations and individual stories connect to the later struggle to save the world.
