Use Auto-earn to avoid repetitive development. To save recruitment costs, focus on meals, then restart the chapter while keeping relationships.

Use Auto-earn when repetitive development wears thin

The four stories eventually come together. Training your favorites along the way makes the finished army satisfying. But I also dislike running around and repeating development between every battle.

Auto-earn is a welcome convenience. It offers money, experience, and weapon skills, with noticeable gains. If you do not want to handle everything personally, use it to advance time and save your energy for the main story and characters you want to play.

Use meals to reduce recruitment gift costs

Check Renown and support requirements in character information. Renown grows through the story and map quests, while support needs deliberate planning. Early money also pays for weapons, equipment, and forging. Constant gift purchases quickly exhaust it.

I give gifts first to unlock meals, then mainly build relationships through eating. Each chapter, choose people your current Renown can recruit and whom you actually want to use. Do not max everyone's support immediately. There are many characters, and the real-world time spent operating menus adds up too.

Seat the protagonist at recruitment meals

When eating to recruit someone, choose the current protagonist for the first slot and two recruitment targets for the others. You need their relationships with the protagonist, not a meal spent on a different pair.

Core units already recruited can also eat together. Higher support helps adjacent allies in battle and offers coordinated attacks in labyrinths. Decide whether this meal is for recruitment or teamwork before choosing the table.

Restart after weekly meals to preserve support

When you cannot invite them again that week, use Auto-earn at the inn to reach the next week and keep eating. Its income covers more meals without constantly running around the map.

Restarting keeps support but resets development

Shortly before remaining turns run out and the next story battle begins, open the system menu and select Restart Chapter. Support remains, but money, experience, weapon ranks, and similar progress return to the chapter's start. Relationships are the lasting result of this loop. Do not count levels gained alongside support farming as retained progress.

Replay the opening scenes, then check relationship levels and arrange recruitment. The two people in my demonstration have already reached Bond Level 3, while the chapter's starting money and turns are restored.

Build support even with someone you cannot recruit yet

Anatolia's information says she cannot be recruited, but the relationship still matters in her later joining process. Being unavailable now does not make interaction pointless. Build the relationship when you have early opportunities.

Opening experiences with the four protagonists

Dietrich's damage and teleportation are straightforward and good for learning combat. Leda raises nearby allies' attack and defense and has useful companions. I also recommend her for a first start.

Theodora is powerful herself, but her whole army needed more management in my experience. Cai also requires mount care, adding another concern before you know the systems. I would save him for later.

For a challenge, choose Hard and Classic and impose a no-Rewind rule. To settle into the story and army first, use these conveniences and gradually develop your favorites.
