Cai route playthrough: Prioritize core units when materials run short, and retreat after overextendingMinor spoilers
When lance repairs lack materials, rely on trained regulars. Save time to return after shopping, retreat to safety in battle, then decide whether to use a Blessing.

Aurora and Kalla's Blessings
After trying several Blessings, my favorite is Aurora's Blessing's effect against Underworld Boon. Level-three Aurora's Blessing disables the enemy's Underworld Boon, directly helping against those foes. Next, focus on developing Kalla's Blessing instead of dividing effort evenly among every temple.
Before taking on something new, check whether this week's meals and temple visits are done. After time away, it is easy to forget what you already handled and walk through everything again.

Prioritize core investment when repair materials run short
I want to repair a main unit's new lance, but materials are insufficient and
Smithing Stone is nearly gone. The needed ore is elusive, and the desired area is not open yet. Continuing to invest in everyone would tighten supplies further.
Deploy those already sufficiently leveled and reduce repeated roster and equipment changes. High-level units train low-level allies quickly, so catching people up can wait. Maintain a capable army for the immediate task first.
Reserve return turns and check spectating dates separately
I still want to shop, but counting the remaining actions leaves only eight turns and I must get home. Return first. Another target's deadline is far away and can wait until the next trip. Do not squeeze out the journey home just to finish every purchase now.
Yet with so much to do in town, I still miss spectating on October 4. Having visited temples and eaten meals does not mean the schedule is fully checked. Date-specific activities such as spectating still need a separate calendar check.

Pull back and reset engagement after advancing too far
Seeing enemies cross walls to close in makes me realize I advanced too far. The
Archer side is difficult too, and moving farther only increases the danger.
Retreat somewhere you can reorganize, then check how enemies will approach next. Blessings can help you hold on, but the decision to activate another can wait until the situation is clearer. In the end, I optimize the movements again and pull back the overextended advance.
The appeal of meetings and supports
Cai brings
Theodora to meet his mother. The queen blushes and fears insects; these small interactions make the journey charming. Seeing their meeting again from another route makes me wonder what the other side was thinking.
Most dungeons are not very long. You can watch Supports and train lower-level units along the way. The dungeon where Cai exchanges his spear felt long and drawn-out to me, though; it does not represent the usual dungeon pace. Money and materials can be scarce in daily activities, but spending more time with favorite characters keeps me wanting to play slowly.
