Chapter 2: Dyan's UprisingMinor spoilers

Fight from Avoid tiles. Against the early general, compare counter damage before entering melee. Use Earthen Throw once per turn against Dyan, and prioritize a Vulnerary after a miss.

Draft · Updated 2026-10-17

Keep your current party and use Theodora's Earthen Throw against targets that cost too much HP in melee. Assign one enemy to each unit at the start and check Avoid tiles under both sides. Against the early general, compare ranged throwing costs with melee counter damage. If melee costs only 1 HP, move in. Use Earthen Throw once per turn to wear Dyan down. If it misses and HP is low, use a Vulnerary first.

Avoid tiles grant forty Avoid

Your army starts at the southern entrance. Enemies line the north–south passage, with a boss marker in the cyan area to the north.

At the start, each unit can attack a different enemy. Check the tile beneath your target first. Avoid tiles grant 40 Avoid, making enemies harder to hit too. Do not choose attacks from stats alone.

The yellow cursor highlights a cyan-patterned Avoid tile. The lower-left panel clearly shows Avoid +40%; enemies standing here are harder to hit too.

Compare throwing and melee against the early general

Approach 1: Throw Earthen Throw from range. If a suitable throwing position is available against the early general, have Theodora use Earthen Throw to avoid melee counter damage. Earthen Throw itself costs HP, so check her remaining HP before throwing again.

Approach 2: Enter melee when damage is low. If the melee forecast shows only 1 HP lost, move in and attack. Compare the HP costs of both approaches. When Defense reduces counter damage enough, you do not need to keep attacking from range.

Heal after Earthen Throw misses Dyan

Claim Avoid tiles before engaging Dyan to benefit from their 40 Avoid.

If trading HP with Dyan in melee is too costly, have Theodora use Earthen Throw once per turn and chip him down from its 5-tile range.

Earthen Throw can miss: even at close range, its forecast can show 77 Hit. If it misses while HP is low, check Dyan's Movement and use a Vulnerary. Continuing to attack may leave you without enough HP to survive the next exchange.

You can keep using Earthen Throw even beside Dyan. Throwing at close range prevents a counter, so there is no need to switch to normal melee attacks that cost more HP.
