Smyrnos: additional companion and temple information

Smyrnos is a companion planned for Expansion Pass Wave 2, joining in Part 3’s Promised One’s story. Divine companions cannot level up normally like other characters. The trailer shows him as The Avatar, attacking with Bolting and Sagittae. Temple blessings, requests, and trials have separate rewards; classes and equipment require their respective requests or trials. His joining inventory has not been revealed.

Join him in the Promised One's story after Wave 2 releases

These companions require the Expansion Pass and the release of Wave 2. Wave 2 is scheduled for winter 2026 and adds three deities: Aurora, Smyrnos, and Jurah. They become companions in the Promised One’s story. They cannot level up normally, but have abilities befitting their divine status.

This is a separate wave from Wave 1's special weapons and Wave 3's character stories. Having Wave 1 weapons does not mean Wave 2 companions are available. The ordinary approach of training a character from low-tier classes to master classes also does not directly apply to deities who cannot level up.

The preview shows The Avatar and long-range thunder magic

The trailer’s The Avatar is an infantry Divine class that uses swords, gauntlets, axes, black magic, and white magic. Its elective proficiency is White Magic S or Black Magic S. Smyrnos’s full proficiencies and how he acquires them have not been revealed.

Class skills include magic Hit +10, healing magic +20, and All-Magic Zenith. Mastering Divine Law grants Magic +10. Count inherent class effects separately from mastery rewards; the trailer has not shown him completing mastery.

Among the spells shown, Bolting strikes distant targets with lightning, while Sagittae fires magic arrows. The trailer also shows a new Bloodmark, whose effect has not been revealed. A similar-looking symbol does not establish its effect.

Blessings strengthen magic offense for one turn

Raise your blessing level at Smyrnos’s temple to obtain the following magic offense bonuses. Each use lasts one turn. Activate it on a turn when you need to cast; the Hit, Range, and Magic bonuses expire at the end of that turn.

Blessing levelEffect
Level 1Magic attack Hit +50
Level 2Magic range +1
Level 3Magic +5

The cost is 20 Divine Sand on Normal and 30 on Hard. Raise blessing levels through temple service, which consumes Motivation. Service on his holy days, Wednesday and Sunday, grants more blessing progress. Prepare blessing level, Divine Sand reserves, and access to the relevant spells separately. Magic Range +1 does not grant new spells.

The level 2 range bonus reaches more distant targets, while the level 3 Magic bonus strengthens magic during that turn. Schedule the relevant actions within their one-turn duration.

Restore the temple before accepting the fire request

After restoring Smyrnos's temple in Part 3, speak with him to accept his unique request: extinguish the flames in the Great Cave of Iapetos. This requires Fimbulvetr Night. First visit Jurah's temple and speak to the priest to obtain the relevant spell, then bring a character who can use it to deal with the flames.

Completing the request unlocks High Savant, giving ordinary team members another late-game class option. High Savant is a temple request reward; whether Smyrnos can change class still needs separate confirmation.

Bring high-Resistance units to the trial

After completing the request, you can challenge Smyrnos’s divine trial. It consists of consecutive battles against enemies with a divine blessing granting magic Hit +50 and Magic +5. Enemy attacks favor magic, so the team needs high Resistance rather than relying only on Defense.

Recommended classes are Wiseman and The Avatar, with Olympia and Ninae as character examples. Use these units for the challenge.

Victory rewards include Agnea's Tome and Smyrnos's Channels. Agnea’s Tome teaches Agnea's Arrow. The magically empowered gauntlets allow use of Thoron Gauntlet. Clear the consecutive battles with your existing team to obtain the rewards. His joining inventory has not been revealed.

Japanese and English voice actors

His English voice actor is AJ Beckles, and his Japanese voice actor is Shuhei Toyoshima.

Training route by stage

No training in Part 1

His playable content is in Expansion Pass Wave 2 and Part 3's Promised One's story. Do not plan Part 1 experience or proficiency for him. Ordinary characters' beginner and specialty class routes do not apply directly.

Develop your existing team normally in Part 2

Continue training the existing team normally. You do not need to pause other members or reserve a unique qualification for him.

Wait for Wave 2 in Part 3

Equipment, mounts, battalions, and blessingsHis equipment access, mutual restrictions, and practical combinations are not confirmed

Do not grind the Black and White Magic S required by ordinary The Avatar in advance. Whether divine characters take exams, earn mastery, or occupy an ordinary character's same-class slot is unconfirmed. Inability to level normally does not mean all growth rates are zero; the simulator cannot yet use a set of values.

Separate character training from temple blessings

To improve Hit, Range, or other effects for current mages, see Smyrnos's Blessing's blessing description. Temple blessings and divine characters use different access points. Blessing effects cannot be copied directly into his personal skills.

Recruitment

Wave 2 is planned to add him in Part 3; the specific quest, location, and availability date are not confirmed. Check the recruitment overview for later conditions. Character recruitment requirements are still unknown, so do not treat temple restoration or temple requests as the recruitment process.

Temple access still requires waiting for character content

  • Separate the base-game blessing, temple quests, and character recruitment. Playable training awaits Wave 2; temple quests do not prove recruitment is open.
  • Do not grind ordinary The Avatar qualifications yet. His class-change and qualification-slot rules are unknown.
  • Do not enter zero growth rates. Only the inability to level normally is confirmed.
  • Strength requires comparable practical battles. Preview damage is insufficient to rank mages.
