Story theories from an eight-point compass, and trial and error with Yang JieMinor spoilers
The opening compass suggests stories for four more characters. Choose Yang Jie’s preferred answers during negotiations and speak again after a mistake.

The eight-point compass made me think of four other characters beyond the protagonists, and I wondered whether they would later have stories of their own. In the second half, I try
Yang Jie’s wine-tasting questions while checking his recruitment conditions.
The eight-point compass and its character connections
The opening compass has eight points that then converge. Beyond the four heroes,
Bertrand,
Talimun,
Orchel, and
Anatolia are important counterparts, matching that number.
My theory is that these other four also have stories worth exploring. Perhaps additional content could explain how they connect with the existing routes. Seeing the eight-point design alongside those relationships makes this a tempting clue to keep following.
Yang Jie’s Renown requirement varies by route
Next comes
Yang Jie.
Cai needs Renown 3 to recruit him, while
Dietrich does not require that Renown level. Other protagonists may differ again. Check support and Renown on the current route before recruiting rather than preparing according to the previous protagonist's requirements.
Negotiation also asks about his preferences. For the drinking-setting question, I initially guess his fiery personality would favor a scorching desert. That is wrong. After eliminating it, I try a full-moon night and finally match his taste.
