Chapter 9: The Legend of the White Egg
Visit the story destination early and schedule September’s paralogues. Advance through the desert with Dietrich and a Guardian, keep Sofia healing from behind, and protect the back line from flanking enemies.
Use the Divine Gate to visit the story destination early in free time. Confirm its check mark, then return to town to schedule paralogues. Reserve September 17 for Bertrand. In the desert battle, advance with
Dietrich and your main front-line unit in
Guardian, with
Sofia healing from a distance. Use Dietrich's teleportation ability when normal movement cannot reach an enemy. Keep watching your healers even once the front line is secure, as enemies can circle behind. Save a front-line action when finishing the map so you are not left with only healers unable to kill the last enemy.
Confirm the story destination's check mark
At the start of free time, use the Divine Gate to reach the main-story destination. Confirm the check mark beside the quest destination at the lower left before exploring or doing paralogues. Visiting early lets you return to town and schedule September activities without squeezing the initial journey in after your paralogues.
Leave enough return time for September's paralogues
Accept Leda's Paralogue: Diversionary Tactics first in September, then Theodora's Paralogue: Missing Brave-Warrior Statue on September 3 before leaving to find the statue. Return directly after Theodora's paralogue without fighting monsters to level on the way. Allow enough travel time to get back before September 8, then use Leda's conversation to advance to the September 9 battle.
Theodora's paralogue has scattered mechanisms, but keep the party on one route at first. Splitting up leaves units isolated; keep healers behind the front line. In Leda's paralogue afterward, preserve obstacles that block paths and use two front-line units to block the bears' approach, limiting how many can engage.
Handle Bertrand's Paralogue: Friendly Match with Brigid's King on September 17 before anything else. Do not spend that day leveling outside town. Deploy high-damage units to secure kills on giants. Before trying to claim the kill on a giant the opposing group is attacking, calculate who can reach it next round. If only Dietrich can reach it and he cannot kill it alone, give up that target rather than wasting feed.
Schedule 1: Leave Talimun for later. After Bertrand, save Talimun's Paralogue: Secret of the Vanished Carriage for the next chapter.
Schedule 2: Leave town again the same day. Go straight to Talimun's paralogue after Bertrand to reduce next month's workload. The tradeoff is an extremely tight route with no spare turns for detours. If you cannot make it, another acceptance window runs from October 1–10.
Prioritize Advanced Licenses for your main units
If Advanced Licenses are scarce, assign your class changes before leveling further. Prioritize Guardian for your main tank to improve survival against magic before sending them into the desert front line. Changing Dietrich to
Shido favors Speed and Dexterity, at the cost of reducing Strength growth to 50% instead of retaining Brigand's Strength growth.
If the licenses have already gone to other main units, stop deploying the two Armored Knights who have not changed class for leveling and save licenses for those who need them most. Do not level everyone to the class threshold only to discover back in town that you lack enough licenses.
Check exclusive weapons, durability, and ability slots before the story battle. Choose either the Hexlock Shield or Anguishing Shield. Before upgrading key weapons, review everything that needs Umbral Steel. Avoid upgrading the Fell Axe to +3 first and only then realizing that other weapons need the same material.
Mikaela's Fell Axe lowers her maximum HP. Repeated use becomes dangerous in a long battle.
Go back for the chest before leaving the dungeon
The preceding dungeon's chest contains
Salamander. If you are near the exit and have not opened it, turn back and collect it before leaving.
Set your combat arts before entering the desert

Once in the desert, check your equipped combat arts' ranges. If they all have range 2, they cannot hit more distant targets. If you cannot use an attack you need, rearrange your arts before advancing. Sand affects movement, and sandstorms obscure vision; enemies may still be hidden ahead.
Have Sofia heal your Guardian from behind
Lead with your main unit in Guardian while Sofia heals from a safe distance behind them. This build gives the front-line unit 37 Defense and 21 Resistance, allowing them to withstand physical and magic attacks. The healer does not need to stand adjacent. If Dietrich cannot reach an enemy after normal movement, use his teleportation ability to close in rather than moving and finding he cannot attack.

Do not let healers move beyond protection. Your front line may withstand mages, but enemies can still circle around and attack the back. When you spot a flanker, have your main front-line unit handle it rather than expecting the remaining healers to clear it themselves.
Save a front-line action for the finish
Keep an action available for a main front-line unit when clearing survivors. Do not spend every damage dealer's action just to distribute a little more EXP and leave only healers unable to finish the target.
