Playing this class

The Blade gives sword attackers Critical and Speed: Sword Crit +10 while equipped, then Speed +10 from Divine Insight mastery. Give the slot first to someone already at Sword S. A Swordmaster can also take the mastery and pass the slot on.

The Blade’s exam panel shows Sword S and the Demonic Swordguard at lower left, with Sword Crit +10 and Divine Insight mastery on the right. Distinguish exam preparation, class abilities, and mastery.

Who benefits

Dietrich can move from Swordmaster and remain a main attacker. Diego and Guzran also have sword Divine routes.

Esmeralda and Gaitz can borrow Divine Insight when short on Speed. After Speed +10, Gaitz can return to an archer class, Swordmaster, or Battlemaster according to his final weapon.

Training route

From Section 4 of the Promised One’s story, bring a Key of the Diadem to Heaven’s Crown Temple for the Demonic Swordguard. Reach Sword S and 100% success to take the exam. Only one unit can hold the class at a time; return eligibility to pass it on.

It uses swords and spears, with Movement 6 and Combat Arts +3. Use swords for Critical +10 and bring Shido’s Ever Vigilant for sustain. Learn Astra in Swordmaster before changing to retain five-hit attacks against tough enemies.

When to use it

A main sword attacker can stay through the endgame, with Speed and Dexterity growth +20 each and Strength and Magic +10 each. If follow-ups are still lacking, prioritize mastery for Divine Insight’s fixed Speed +10. The class change itself does not grant it.

Alternatively, learn Divine Insight and return to Swordmaster, passing eligibility to the next unit. Swordmaster already fights well and can remain a main attacker after borrowing the Divine mastery.
