Playing this class

Light Cavalry is an intermediate physical class using Movement 6 to reposition, with sword, spear, and axe access. Its value depends mainly on the mount; growth modifiers are Strength, Speed, and Defense +5 each and Magic −5 percentage points.

Light Cavalry exam: Riding D is the main requirement at the lower left, with Spear C/Sword C in the optional proficiency section. Mounted-class growth and weapon access appear on the right.

Suitable characters

  • Io brings his own mount and finishes wounded enemies quickly. Do not make him the sole tank and damage dealer.
  • Cai can move from Ornius Rider to Light Cavalry for Bolster Health. For physical spear cavalry, continue Bardinger → Orichaldia.
  • Gaitz can follow Light Cavalry into Bardinger, add Heavy Armor, then finish as Great Knight. An unlocked Cataphract is another intermediate option.

Seteth can use this cavalry setup to move in and out quickly; Buccar also has an intermediate Light Cavalry route.

Training requirements

Renown 4 and recommended level 20, with Riding D plus Spear C or Sword C. Spear experience +1 and Riding +2 support training toward the next class.

The class itself grants only Mount/Dismount, with no innate Canto. Check mount abilities and cavalry-effective enemies before riding. On difficult terrain, compare the dismounted movement range.

When to leave

Io can continue Bardinger → Orichaldia, or take Charioteer → Elephant Rider. Mastery Bolster Health grants only HP +3, a small later benefit. Do not delay Advanced classes for it.
