Replay and ending planning: which route to revisit, when to fuse, and how to see a chosen endingMajor spoilers
Separate story, training, and ending goals. Start a new route from Chapter 1 for carryover, finish Part 2 to record retraining, and check support conversations before replaying for an ending.

After clearing the game, you return to before the final battle. Check existing training records and missing Support first, then choose a chapter to replay and avoid an unnecessary run.
- “Another playthrough” here means returning within the same progress to complete routes or retrain characters, rather than starting a separate campaign.
- To see another protagonist's story with less repeated exploration, finish one full Part 1, then begin the next route from Chapter 1. Resuming an older route midway does not automatically apply map exploration, blessings, and shared side quests completed afterward.
- To improve characters, check what existing records can add before replaying. Retraining on the same route requires a Part 2 clear to update the record; cross-route Merge Causality costs shards separately. Two routes covering one weakness are enough to assess the benefit. You need not train everyone fully on all four routes first.
- For Eshmel's ending with a chosen character, raise their Support to 5, actually view the A conversation, then clear Part 3. Confirm that the pair has an A conversation first. If several characters qualify, choose one after the final battle. Pairings between other companions use separate rules.
- Do not replay blindly for the words “true ending.” Completing all four routes adds characters, functions, and dialogue.
Decide what the replay should add
Choose this run's goal first: more story, a different ending partner, or character training. Story completion does not require optimized training, and changing an ending partner does not require replaying every route.
| Your goal | Decision order | Further details |
|---|---|---|
| Unread protagonist story | Start at Chapter 1 or keep existing progress | Route order, chapter list |
| Avoid missing content before a new part | Finish conversations/paralogues or continue | Stage checklists, missables |
| A clear core-unit weakness | Decide whether retraining is worthwhile and which gap to fill | Merge Causality, Level-Up Previewing |
| A chosen character ending | Check conversations, bonds, and route conditions | Support/pairing list, raising affinity |
| Missing allies/functions in Part 3 | Decide whether earlier-part records need completion | War Arc, Promised One’s story, paralogues |
Carryover rules for gold, items, mounts, and battalions
Confirm completion records between all three parts
After retraining in Part 1, you must also finish Part 2 to update the training record. Do not check your Part 3 stats immediately after finishing Part 1.
| What you just completed | What to do next | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A protagonist's Part 1 Chapter 12 | To receive full new-route carryover, start another route from Chapter 1 | Maps, blessings, and shared side quests carry over when opening a route; resuming midway does not apply them again |
| Retraining a cleared route and finishing Part 1 | Use the new starting state for that route's Part 2 Chapter 1, then finish or skip Part 2 | Part 1 updates the Part 2 starting state; Part 2 completion updates character training records |
| A satisfactory Part 2 training result, before entering Part 3 | Check characters and supplies, then enter Part 3 | Preparing beforehand reduces later record updates and rollback trouble |
| More Part 1 or Part 2 progress after Part 3 has begun | Check active versions and merge previews before accepting restart costs | Existing records show different conditions for when an ongoing Part 3 reflects updates; do not assume live synchronization |
Choose between playing and skipping Part 2 based on whether you still need training. Play it to keep developing characters or skills, or to experience that route's team. If Part 1's result is satisfactory and you only need to finalize the record, you can skip. Skipping updates the record but does not train missing skills for you. See the war story for full skip unlock conditions; you need not fight through it solely to finalize a record.
To bring every exclusive map function into Part 3, finish each of the four protagonists' Part 2 records. Animal assignment, hunting, and similar commands require the corresponding protagonist's completed record; merely recruiting them is insufficient. You do not need all four routes to enter Part 3.

What carries over when changing protagonists?
A new protagonist starts levels, money, items, Renown, and recruitment over. The table shows which preparations carry over.
| Result you want to carry over | Effect on your next run | |
|---|---|---|
| Map information, blessings, and completed shared side quests | Finish Part 1, then begin a new route at Chapter 1. Shared side quests resolve at their corresponding stages, rather than paying every reward in Chapter 1 | |
| Class unlocks and Boons of Salvation | These provide choices for another route, but characters still need exam requirements and separate mastery training | |
| Character levels, money, items, and Renown level | These do not transfer directly into another Part 1. Budget, earn Renown, and recruit again | |
| Support raised in Part 3 | Start the older protagonist's route from the beginning to bring it back. Do not assume conversation states in old chapters refresh immediately |
Even with map knowledge, check current-route access to passes and stations. Cai’s carriage quest still matters. Bond value, unlocked conversation, and watched conversation are separate records. For ending repairs in old chapters, a rising relationship bar alone does not confirm success.
When is another playthrough worth the fusion?
List one weakness for one core unit first. “Enough Strength, too little Speed” makes a replay decision clearer than “maximum every stat.” Fusion takes higher values per field. Two records improving only the same stat leave the other weakness untouched. Merged skills/masteries still face class and equipment-slot restrictions.
Before acting, write down the gaps and available records:
- 1Check your active character. Is the practical gap Strength, Speed, or a learned ability? Identify one weakness that affects combat.
- 2Check an existing record from another route.See which stats or learned abilities are actually better. Preview a usable record before starting another route just for a merge.
- 3Choose a starting point only if retraining is necessary.Record what you want to improve and where to train it. On the same route, replay from the needed chapter and continue through Part 2 completion. For new-route map carryover, follow the Chapter 1 starting rule separately.
- 4Finish any rollback before returning to Part 3 to assess gains.Decide whether to restart the current chapter, then check active characters and preview each stat gain and learned ability. Cross-route merging costs 300 shards per character per use. Wait if it only adds a few stats you do not need.
One approach repeats the same route for free updates and fewer fragments; another combines two already completed routes to save replay time. The former costs replay time, the latter fragments. Train explicit weaknesses if you enjoy optimization; stop when the active team is sufficient for progression. Small proficiency gaps trainable in Part 3 need not justify a whole route replay.
Distinguish same-route retraining from cross-route merging, especially for protagonists. Retrain Dietrich's stats across runs of his own route, then finish the war story to update him. Other protagonists cannot recruit him for merging. See Merge Causality for the full training workflow.

There are reports of losing a paid merge after restarting the current Part 3 chapter. Restarting can also roll back training and supplies. :::
Separate main-story endings from support partners
| Content you want to see | Preparation you can plan around | What to watch | |
|---|---|---|---|
| The main-story conclusion with different route preparation | Finish unread protagonist stories, their Part 2 sections, and important paralogues, then experience the convergence | — | |
Eshmel's individual ending with a chosen character | Reach Support 5, view A, and clear Part 3; choose a qualifying character after the final battle | Not everyone is eligible, and not every individual ending means marriage | |
| Paired epilogues between other companions | Confirm an A conversation exists, view it before the ending, and consider Support-point competition between multiple A partners | — |
Finish all four routes to miss fewer characters, functions, and conversations. You can still challenge Part 3 with a smaller roster.
Check Eshmel’s ending conditions
- 1Check whether the character has an A conversation with Eshmel.Maxing the Support number cannot create a missing ending. Check the Support list first.
- 2Raise the pair's Support to 5.Unlocking A and reaching the ending's required level are separate conditions. Check the number even after viewing A.
- 3Confirm that you actually viewed A.A highlighted or unlocked entry still needs to be watched. View earlier conversations as they become available instead of leaving them until after changing parts.
- 4Clear Part 3 and check the choices after the final battle.
If several characters qualify, choose one. You do not need to lower Eshmel's relationships with every other eligible character to select your preferred partner. ::: If the ending partner is one of the four protagonists, clear their Part 1 first to be safe. Even if you have met them in Part 3, check their Part 1 clear record. For several targets, arrange meals and bond training at the start of Section 6 so shortages do not appear right before the finale. Repeated meals followed by chapter restart are a demonstrated relationship method, but roll back other chapter progress. Do not finish training and spend fusion fragments before using the same chapter to farm relationships. See raising affinity.

The post-final-battle “Person you want to see” list. This save offers Leda, Theodora, Catania, Alexandra, and Esmeralda. Check competing partners even after watching A
Check that the pair has an A conversation before investing resources. Listed pairs include Cai–Tialla, Dietrich–Esmeralda, and Leda–Mu. These three are not a complete list. See the Support and pairing list for other combinations. With multiple A partners, the highest Support points determine the pairing. For a specific target, finish their A first and prioritize later joint actions and meals for that pair. Unlocking every A is not insurance for a chosen pairing, and hidden priorities should not be assumed.
What should the next run add after completion?
Completion returns you to before the final battle. List missing goals, then choose the shortest scope. Fill low-rollback-cost gaps before deciding on a protagonist restart.
Step Check If something is missing 1. Set this run’s goal Chosen ending, unread route, or character training Keep one main goal instead of deciding to retrain everyone during bond work 2. Inspect supports Is A available/watched, and is
Eshmel’s bond 5?Use available activities first; revisit old parts only for route-limited conversations 3. Identify the missing record Their Part 1, Part 2 completion, or active Part 3 version Complete Parts 1–2 through their checkpoints; verify Part 3 refresh separately rather than merely switching back once 4. Check rollback costs New training, spending, and fusions this chapter Read chapter-restart losses before choosing; replay is not restoring a backup 5. Verify each result Conversation state, character preview, ending candidates Confirm relationship increases, recorded training, and candidate appearance separately If another protagonist’s Part 1 is unread, make “new story” the next goal and import qualifying progress from Chapter 1. Plan Renown and recruitment anew, use shared-quest auto-completion time for route-exclusive activities, then recheck paralogues/conversations at the end. See route order; you need not discard a developed mid-route team for one fixed order. For a different individual ending, qualify the new partner first, then confirm your choice through the clear sequence. After clearing, return to before the final battle, raise the relationship, and fight the final battle again to choose. Viewed Support conversations can instead be replayed at the Altar of Causality after clearing Part 1. These are separate functions.

Support Conversation Gallery is selected in the Altar of Causality menu, alongside movies, events, and sound playback. This menu replays content already obtained.
