The queen's team and schedule: Use a distinct roster and prioritize returning to reclass over collecting everythingMinor spoilers
Give each route its own team and recruit only where there is a role. Speed training must account for weapons and abilities. Drop side trips when needed and return to reclass first.

Separate rosters for all four routes
This time I am not recruiting duplicates for merging. Each route gets its own team.
Ninae fits well in a chariot group, but someone here already fills a similar job, and extra recruits cannot all deploy. First identify what the current team actually lacks.
After
Dadao joins, compare with
Tobias. Both lean toward armor, but the existing core unit is developed while the newcomer's stats lag and the roles overlap. The question changes from whether recruitment is possible to whether the recruit has a place.

Check weapon restrictions before improving the queen’s Speed
Theodora already has enough Strength, with
Tobias and
Dadao planned for armored roles. I therefore consider
Myrmidon or
Brigand for Speed. But I still want lances, so eliminate candidates unable to use them before planning the later class sequence.
Checking
Armored Combat and
Heavy Break later reveals that they require armor. Improving Speed loses abilities elsewhere, yet staying armored gives less Defense than the dedicated armored allies. HP remains the queen's standout stat. Choose classes around weapons and ability conditions, beyond a single growth rate.
Dadao has a similar issue.
One Chance requires neither side to make a follow-up. Being so slow that enemies double him prevents activation. Instead of considering only high Defense, ask whether a medium-Speed class meets the condition more often.

Fixed support effects are easier to plan than chance-based ones
An adjacent Dexterity bonus may be modest but directly improves Hit. Chance-based Dodge is harder to plan around. I want a benefit calculable for this attack, rather than hoping it activates.
Return to reclass before detouring for collectibles
Level 35 enemies block the sea journey, forcing a detour. Count return steps and buy more exam certificates because those at home are insufficient. I originally wanted both statues along the way, but the schedule no longer allowed a timely return.
Leave one statue and do its quest next time. The class change is already the priority, so return for it first. Leave the roadside cave too. If the trip can raise level 19 units to 20, prioritize those close to reclassing; level 18 units may not reach it this time.

Reserve exam passes and check new skills
Rogue offers Speed and
Locktouch, making it an option considered for
Lilian here. Let the level 20 unit finish the exam first. Only after counting passes and confirming two spares should another level 19 unit attempt a 50% exam. Skip the attempt if passes are short.
In battle, I discover several new abilities are unequipped. Equipped ability slots are limited, so replace them after learning. Learning alone does not make an ability active.
Before attacking, also check whether the enemy carries
Pilum. I thought
Dante was safe, but a thrown lance could cause trouble.
Check conversations after reaching the bond level
When checking
Lilian’s and
Lysander’s supports, both conversations were locked. A sufficient bond level does not mean the conversation is currently available. Before advancing chapters, check every conversation you can view and read prerequisite prompts for locked ones.
