Playing this class

Bau Lord crosses terrain with swords, spears, and axes, Movement 7, and Combat Arts +2. It suits physical units who want to retain flight. Check archer ranges before entering rather than focusing only on reaching a target.

Bau Lord’s exam shows recommended level 45 and Flying C at lower left, with Axe A/Spear A as selectable proficiencies. The wyvern mount is already visible in the center.

Who benefits

Lysander and Buccar can also transition from cavalry. Other flying candidates include Seteth and Mikaela.

Buccar loses the use of armored movement skills after switching to flight.

Choose it for men who want to keep flying or axe users who still need axes. Women on sword/spear routes can also move to Celestial Trooper.

Training route

Unlocks after clearing Section 1 of the Promised One’s story. The exam recommends level 45, Flying C, and either Spear A or Axe A. Mu can focus Spear to A and train Axe only enough to use Hammer against armor, without taking both to A.

Ambush mastery grants Attack +4 while standing on terrain that cannot be traversed on foot. Ordinary ground gives no bonus. Choose a tile from which you can attack while avoiding archers, then calculate the kill.

When to use it

Stay in it if you still want to attack across obstacles at the endgame. Ambush requires suitable terrain; do not farm mastery as though it always adds 4 Attack. Women seeking initiation benefits can switch to Celestial Trooper for Lightning Reflexes. Stay on wyvern to keep using axes.
