Playing this class

Dragoon crosses terrain by air while keeping swords, spears, and axes for physical damage. Its Besieger mastery helps against high-Avoid enemies in brush: Hit +20 when the target stands on beneficial terrain. You can carry the skill into another class after learning it.

Who suits this class

  • Alexandra and Nydine: Take Wing Soldier → Dragoon → Celestial Trooper to keep crossing terrain and reaching distant positions.
  • Mikaela or Guzran can use axes. Mikaela improves Hit and Attack at close range; Guzran joins early with balanced Strength, Speed, and Dexterity. Lysander also suits flight: train Spear and Flying early, then switch around level 35.

Training plan

Prepare for level 35, Renown 8, Flying C, and either Axe B or Spear B. Unlock the class first through Aurora’s guidance at Renown 8 on Cai’s route, or by completing all military preparation upgrades before Chapter 11 on Theodora’s route, then take the exam.

It uses swords, spears, and axes, has Movement 6, and adds a combat art slot. Flight bypasses ground obstacles, but archers still threaten it with effective damage. Check range before engaging and dismount if needed. Besieger only improves Hit; it does not remove the enemy’s terrain effects. Without beneficial terrain under the enemy, there is no +20.

When to move on

Physical units who often fight enemies in brush benefit from getting Besieger first. To keep flying, female sword and spear users can move into Celestial Trooper, while males or axe users continue into Bau Lord. If you only want the Hit skill, return to your main class after mastery.
