Recruitment deadlines: Reach Gaitz on September 17 and finish the two knights correctlyMajor spoilers
Divide recruitment among four protagonists. Secure Gaitz’s and Kunlun’s windows first, then build Support, Renown, and materials.

Spread recruitment across routes while meeting every requirement
You do not need to recruit everyone on one route, and cannot do so. The four protagonists and their starting companions gather after their respective routes are completed. Spread everyone else across the four routes and successfully recruit each at least once. Remember recruitment windows first, especially
Gaitz and the Kunlun faction. Missing them means replaying earlier content.
Recruitment checks Support, Renown, and additional conditions together. Maxed Support cannot bypass Renown. Prepare money, weapons, items, and searches too.
Olympia and
Jester also have successive collection or encounter requests, so do not begin just before the deadline.
Chapter restarts retain Support progress
- 1Dine and give gifts to the target after the chapter begins. Choose good dishes they like; three meals usually build substantial Support.
- 2Choose Restart Chapter at Raven’s Perch. Character strength and supplies return to the chapter’s start, while Support remains.
Prioritize requests and Paralogues within recruitment windows
Complete both shared and protagonist-specific requests each chapter. Around September, Paralogues can give 20,000 gold and 150 Renown, helping both funds and recruitment. Their acceptance windows are short, so distant travel can prevent a timely return.
Anatolia’s Paralogue determines whether the Kunlun faction remains in town afterward. Without completing it, you cannot keep visiting them for Support or recruitment.
Cai’s and
Theodora’s stories lack this Paralogue, so the faction leaves after mid-October. Recruit them beforehand.
Deputies are often gated by Paralogues too:
Talimun’s unlocks
Ursula, and
Anatolia’s unlocks
Sha Lan. Check this requirement if Support and Renown are sufficient but recruitment remains unavailable.
Complete the Paralogue and win the final for Gaitz
Gaitz accepts recruitment only from
Dietrich, requiring Support 3, Renown 10, completion of Bertrand's Paralogue: Friendly Match with Brigid's King, and victory over
Bertrand in the final.
The easiest condition to miss is the Paralogue acceptance date. The two routes have very different windows:
| Route | Bertrand’s Paralogue acceptance window | Available turns |
|---|---|---|
Cai’s story | September 17 through late night September 25 | 35 |
Dietrich’s story | Midnight through late night on September 17 | 3 |
Plan the return to town on September 17 in advance and accept the paralogue first.
After finishing the Paralogue, continue the main story and win the final to meet the second condition. If you miss the Paralogue, return to chapter nine, complete it, then finish through chapter twelve to update clear data before he can appear in later parts.
Collecting
Giants' Meat and
Sandworm Meat
Goliath needs 3
Giants' Meat. Defeating the giant in the desert giant encounter drops 1, and you can fight again after the weekly reset. Do it once a week along the way for three. The journey is long, so do not let meat gathering delay other requests or Paralogues.
Cai’s story cannot reach the desert, making
Giants' Meat much harder to obtain. Gather
Luxury Meat Crate and try opening it. Accessible gathering spots exist near
Aurora’s temple. Do not assume this can be finished in one outing.
For another recruit requiring 3
Sandworm Meat, the 6 sandworms in the desert cave can supply them in one visit. Fight them on the way to
Anatolia’s Paralogue for convenience. In
Cai’s story, you can instead buy 5 in the village near
Aurora’s temple.
Recruit the two knights in sequence
Around August, accept
Creek’s request to defeat Rogues and recover his sister’s keepsake. Defeat him in Part 2 chapter two, and he joins in the next chapter.
NathanOnce these two have joined once, the other three protagonists need not repeat the same process. Secure the easiest-to-miss recruits first, then assign the others to make the four routes much easier.
