Sword cavalry into The Cavalier

He actually joins as a Lv40 Bardinger. Improve Sword and Riding first, then move to master tier at Lv45. Divine progression follows chapter, item, and Sword S/Riding A requirements; no Part 1 training is invented.

Dismounted Shido into Swordmaster

then Swordmaster; Sword, Spd growth and the personal Avoid bonus when defending both support melee follow-ups. Recruited at level 40, start using Shido at the current level; follow the level 45 recommendation and the Promised One’s story class unlock for Swordmaster.

Master Bardinger, then stay in Shido

In section 12 of Akino’s “Units Used to Clear Parts 1 and 2 of Dietrich’s Story”: master Bardinger late in Part 2 for Aegis, then switch to Shido, finishing at level 51; Whirlwind Blade+2 and Cross Slash’s Dex stacking are components explicitly named in the original text. Creek’s fast sword cavalry and The Cavalier route

After joining, keep Creek in Bardinger to train Sword and Riding, then move into Orichaldia and The Cavalier. This turns high Strength, Speed, and Dexterity into reliable mobile sword damage. His personal skill adds Attack Speed and Avoid when defending, supporting counters against physical enemies. Resistance is a clear weakness, so avoid enemy mages.

Continue from his level-40 Bardinger

ClassTraining milestoneRequirements and benefits
BardingerActually joins at level 40; already meets the original table’s recommended level 35Riding C, Sword or Spear B; built-in mount/dismount and Combat Arts +2; master Aegis.
OrichaldiaRecommended change at level 45Riding B, Sword or Spear A; built-in mount/dismount and Combat Arts +3, Movement 7; master Fierce Spear.
The CavalierChange after obtaining Divine certificationRiding A and Sword, Spear, or Axe S; built-in mount/dismount, Combat Arts +3, and Golden Ride, Movement 8, immunity to cavalry effectiveness; master Divine Dexterity.

Sword and Riding are his two strengths, so this mounted sword route needs no separate weak weapon proficiency. During Bardinger, raise Riding to B and prepare Sword A. After becoming an Orichaldia, continue toward Sword S and Riding A to prepare for The Cavalier.

He joins in Part 2, so develop directly from his current Bardinger. Bardinger’s recommended level is 35, which level 40 Creek already exceeds. Do not retrain lower tiers. Divine classes still require chapter progress, qualification items, and proficiency.

Four physical stats establish his role

Focus on whether Strength, Speed, Dexterity, and HP exceed this route’s expected values. Strength at 50% supports sword damage, Speed at 60% supports follow-ups and Avoid, and Dexterity at 50% affects both accuracy and criticals. These three form his strongest foundation compared with ordinary physical cavalry. More HP lets him use his second-strike ability to turn enemy phase into damage opportunities too.

Below-expected Magic, Resistance, Luck, and Charm do not invalidate the whole build. Sword cavalry does not depend on Magic, and Charm is not the main goal. Luck affects Critical and Dodge. Resistance growth is only 20%, requiring target selection and positioning; the physical route will not naturally fix it.

He needs HP to survive incoming attacks. If Defense is only average, check how many enemies can attack him at once. High Speed enables follow-ups but does not erase guaranteed damage.

His personal Attack Speed applies when fighting second

His personal growths are HP 45%, Strength 50%, Magic 15%, Dexterity 50%, Speed 60%, Luck 30%, Defense 35%, Resistance 20%, and Charm 35%, totaling 340%. He excels in Sword and Riding with no proficiency weaknesses.

Steady Hands grants Attack Speed +3 and Avoid +10 when defending. Alongside initiating follow-ups, he can counter on enemy phase with more Attack Speed and Avoid. These bonuses require defending and cannot be copied into initiation calculations. HP growth 45% and Defense 35% are only average, with Resistance 20% lower still. Take suitable physical enemies rather than tanking everything.

His overall rating is A. Strength, Speed, and Dexterity combine for both follow-ups and Hit, with strong advanced performance in The Cavalier. His drawback is joining only in Part 2: he cannot deploy in Part 1 or receive its full early manual development.

Sword arts bring Attack Speed and Dexterity into combat

Train the following skills and arts individually. Check which he already knows on joining.

AbilityEffect
Knightly SensesAvoid +10 against spear-wielding enemies.
Knight’s VanguardProtection +2 when initiating combat as cavalry.
Rein+Adjacent enemies’ Avoid −3.
Combat ArtDurability / Might / Hit / RangeAdditional effect
Haze Slice2 / +3 / 0 / 1Avoid +10 for this combat.
Crosswise Cut4 / +5 / 0 / 1Dexterity +2 after combat, up to +10 for this map.
Lunging Gale5 / +1 / 0 / 1Attack Speed +5 for this combat.
Flowing Spear2 / +3 / 0 / 1Avoid +10 for this combat.
Stinger3 / +7 / -20 / 1Trades accuracy for Might.
Half Spike2 / +3 / 0 / 1Avoid +10 for this combat.

Dexterity gained through Crosswise Cut-style arts accumulates for the current map and requires actual use first. Attack Speed arts strengthen only the current combat, rather than permanently speeding up normal attacks. Compare the current target’s accuracy, follow-up potential, and durability costs together. Do not add every art’s bonus to the same attack.

Complete his sister’s request in Part 1

Recruitment requires the Part 1 side quest “My Late Sister’s Accessory.” It can be completed in Dietrich’s or Leda’s story. Finish it in one of those before entering the War story. He joins after Part 2, Chapter 2 is completed and becomes usable from the next chapter.

Finish the request beforehand rather than waiting until Part 2 to look for a Part 1 task.

Preferences and support partners

He likes the green armor granted by the king and beautiful women.

His listed Support partners are Tialla, Olympia, and Nathan. His Japanese voice actor is Toshiki Iwasawa, whose notable roles include Rokusuke Koenji in Classroom of the Elite, young Slayer in GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-, and Chen Jianshou in Sword Dynasty.

Continue from his existing mounted strength

Creek can continue from his current mounted class into Orichaldia, using high Strength and Speed immediately. Switch to Shido if you want sword mastery.

Even with late recruitment, his existing high Strength and Speed make him ready to fight. Judge readiness from his joining stats; there is no need to retrain lower tiers. His Attack Speed and Avoid bonuses require the enemy to initiate, so they are not permanent benefits when attacking.

Level 49 Bardinger Creek’s action menu shows his class, Whirlwind Blade+2, and current combat stats in the upper left, with Dismount on the right. Choose destinations from current equipment and enemy positions when continuing mounted combat.

Class progression by stage

Part 1: Complete the accessory side quest

Complete “My Late Sister’s Accessory” on Dietrich’s or Leda’s route first. Creek only joins in Part 2. Let existing allies cover cavalry in Part 1.

Train current cavalry on their own paths. Once Creek joins, check his class and proficiencies before continuing.

Part 2: Defeat him, then wait for recruitment

After completing the prerequisite, defeat him in Part 2 Chapter 2; he joins in Chapter 3. Check current level, class, Sword, Spear, and Riding before continuing the target route.

For mounted mobility, prepare for Bardinger: level 35, Renown 8, Riding C, and either Sword B or Spear B. If his existing mounted class works, keep deploying while training the next certification. Bardinger mastery Aegis has only a 20% chance to halve magic damage. Calculate mage encounters without a proc.

Alternative: change to the same-tier Shido. It needs level 35, Renown 8, and Sword B, trading mounted mobility for sword criticals and mastery. Ever Vigilant restores a little HP only after a critical kill. Without the critical or kill, that sustain does not occur.

Steady Hands: when the enemy initiates, Attack Speed +3 and Avoid +10 for that combat.
Steady Hands: when the enemy initiates, Attack Speed +3 and Avoid +10 for that combat.

Part 3: Reclass for team needs

Mounted mobility or a sword focus
Switch to Orichaldia
  • Qualification: Level 45, Riding B, either Sword A or Spear A; unlocked after clearing segment 1.
  • Purpose: Continue mounted physical combat, keeping pace with the team and making mobile attacks.
Switch to Swordmaster
  • Qualification: Level 45, Sword A, and the Mars temple side quest.
  • Trade-off: Focus on swords and accept fighting on foot. Astra requires full class mastery.

Against Underworld Boon targets, check Cleansing Blade access first. Switching to a heavy weapon affects Attack Speed. Check the preview’s follow-up count before attacking.

Alternative: Fill a Part 3 gap with bows, or Guardian → Sentinel. His high Strength and Speed suit these roles too. The spear/White Magic branch needs separate White Magic training, with Physic learned at B. Sentinel also needs level 45, Spear A, and clearing segment 1. This branch costs extra White Magic training and separate healing equipment.

Start with an already-trained mount, rechecking the bond if you change riders.

Creek’s Orichaldia status page shows the current class at upper left, Sword A and Riding B below, and mounted and equipped abilities on the right. This continues existing Sword and Riding training. Movement 9 is the current value in this save.

Keep mobile attack destinations out of concentrated magic fire

Steady Hands grants Attack Speed +3 and Avoid +10 when the enemy initiates. It does not apply when he attacks. Strong Strength, Speed, and Dexterity make him useful despite joining late, but both defenses—especially Resistance—are low. Avoid ending near accurate enemies or several attackers.

On the mounted route, choose a safe ending tile before a kill target. On swords, check whether a critical kill is realistic. For combat-art follow-ups, confirm the art is learned and equippable before checking this engagement's attack count.

General class rules: Shido has Sword Crit +5 and Combat Arts +2 while in the class. Ever Vigilant is listed under mastery and must be earned separately (Simplified Chinese interface).

Recruitment details

Complete “My Late Sister’s Accessory” in Part 1 on Dietrich’s or Leda’s route. Defeat Creek in that route’s war story Chapter 2; he joins in Chapter 3. If recruiting Nathan too, plan the following battle’s finishing-blow requirement. See Creek’s recruitment details.

Enemy-initiation bonuses and sword masteries have conditions

  • Continue from his joining state. Deploy existing strength and train only missing proficiencies.
  • Attack Speed +3 and Avoid +10 require attacking second. Use normal values when initiating.
  • Calculate total magic damage first. Low Resistance makes Hit, follow-ups, and concentrated fire important.
  • Ever Vigilant and Astra require full mastery. Ever Vigilant also needs a critical kill to heal.
  • Finish the accessory side quest in Part 1. Waiting until Part 2 may miss the prerequisite.
General class rules: Shido requires Sword B and recommends level 35 and Renown 8. The 1% shown is only this demonstration save's current pass rate (Simplified Chinese interface).

Part I: A general alongside Nathan

Creek excels in intellect and strategy, serving the Kingdom of Arago alongside Nathan. His green armor, bestowed by the king, contrasts sharply with his partner's red armor.

After Part III: Individual endingSpoilers

After repeated wars, Creek remains sarcastic, though others find him a little gentler. Years later, he falls ill while patrolling the border and dies before returning to the royal capital. Because he keeps joking until the end, those around him fail to recognize the severity of his illness in time.

Trivia
