Bertrand’s Paralogue: Friendly Match with Brigid’s KingMajor spoilers

Race to defeat four giants. Feed them at the end of your turn to deny enemy finishing blows, and preserve Dietrich’s one-day window on September 17.

Draft · Updated 2026-10-16

Return to the nine-paralogue walkthrough; available route walkthroughs: Cai, Dietrich, and Theodora.

  • The first side to defeat 4 giants wins. Attacking Peppe and disruptors buys time but does not replace scoring.
  • Save feed until the end of your turn. Giants temporarily become immune to damage. Attack first and feed afterward to deny the opponent finishing blows and reduce incoming damage.
  • On Dietrich’s route, do this first on September 17. Gaitz’s recruitment comes later, but missing this prerequisite blocks it.

Victory conditions and map

Win by defeating 4 giants before the opponent; lose if they reach 4 first. Reaching zero HP here does not cause the permanent death of a normal battle, but it disrupts your actions. Do not throw units away.

Visit the front of Dagsion’s Grand Arena during the day to accept Bertrand’s paralogue.

Enemies and boss

NameClassSkills or behavior to watch
GiantMonster; specific class unconfirmedTemporarily immune to damage after being fed
Opposing disruptorClass in this battle unconfirmedFeeds targets and may revive after defeat

Boss listed separately: Peppe. She is your competitor, but you win by scoring against giants. Do not chase her. Opponents may revive.

Use main attackers to score and leave someone to limit feeding. Divide roles among your current route's available units.

Opening: choose a giant you can reliably defeat and use terrain to engage. Bertrand’s Blaze Art grants Avoid and defensive buffs, allows him to act afterward, and lasts until the start of your next turn. Use it to sustain incoming damage, then concentrate effective attacks on scoring targets.

Scoring phase: attack before feeding. Feed makes a giant immune to damage and temporarily stops it attacking your side until your next turn begins. Feeding at the end of your turn avoids blocking your own later attacks while stopping the opponent from taking a weakened target during their phase. Do not waste attacks on a protected giant; choose another target.

Check available targets and coverage before feeding. Do not feed first and then have teammates keep attacking the same giant.

During disruption, block opponents instead of farming kills. Positioning can limit feeding, but check whether they can still reach their target after blocking the path. If defeating a disruptor secures your fourth point this turn, do so. Otherwise, protect the scoring team first.

Use terrain to reduce damage. Favor Physical Defense Circles and Healing Circles for your units. When a giant occupies several tiles, attack a part outside a Physical Defense Circle rather than hitting a protected section.

Check who benefits from a buff tile. Use it to absorb damage, and attack giant sections without Physical Defense Circle protection.

If damage is low, use feed to slow the opponent. High-level teams can ignore the low-level Peppe and focus attacks on giants. Low-damage teams should concentrate on scoring rather than spreading out for kills that do not help.

Do not miss September 17 on Dietrich's route

September 17 is Dietrich’s one-day paralogue window, not Gaitz’s permanent recruitment date. Do not auto-advance to the 18th for support or other requests before finding the entry. Talimun’s request is available the same day, but its battle can be scheduled later. Handle this one first.

Accept the cargo battle after victory, then check recruits

Accept Talimun's Paralogue: Secret of the Vanished Carriage, which opens the same day, before checking Peppe's recruitment. Reserve travel time for the cargo battle separately. Continue Gaitz's progression on Dietrich's route; see Difficult recruits for conditions. Check paralogue completion, original-team elimination, and Renown/bond thresholds separately to avoid spending on gifts while a story prerequisite still blocks recruitment.
