The twelve preparations cover weapons, manuals, materials, licenses, support, mounts, Blessings, classes, recruitment prerequisites, paralogues, party roles, and Boons of Salvation. Shopping, upgrades, and recruitment stop during the war story, so prepare before entering.
1. Upgrade effective weapons early
Forging and upgrades are unavailable in Part 2, so visit the blacksmith before Part 1 ends. Prioritize effective weapons;
Levin Sword is especially useful, so upgrade as many as you have. Upgraded basic iron weapons,
Short Axe, and
Short Spear are supplied later, letting you save that money. Check new recruits' weapons too.
2. Use manuals for proficiency in Part 1
Use manuals during Part 1. They raise proficiency but cannot be used in Part 2. Higher magic proficiency also teaches new spells directly. Buy them with spare money; shops restock next chapter.
3. Store ingredients for Part 3
Keep collecting fish, vegetables, and other ingredients;
Cai can cultivate them too. Part 2 temporarily has no use for them, but Part 3 consumes plenty. Do not sell everything for the immediate stretch.
4. Use exam licenses to unlock classes now
Buy and use licenses to unlock needed classes. Remaining Part 1 licenses cannot be used in Part 2, which supplies its own.
5. Build support across protagonists
Support is shared across protagonists. After handling current recruitment, have future protagonists dine with their targets. To build support in bulk, repeatedly dine from chapter start, advance to next week, and dine again. Restart afterward to retain support.
Cai’s Chapters 7 and 10 offer early free time and plenty of turns.
6. Capture mounts and care for them daily
Give mounted characters on
Cai’s route mounts early. They improve stats, skills, and growths, so earlier investment pays more. Animal care is once daily and available again the next day. Part 2 limits care and feed, so develop frequent combinations in Part 1.
7. Train needed blessings through Sunday Temple Service
Perform Divine Service beforehand. Every temple gets a Sunday bonus. Start with Kalla's Blessing level one and Aurora's Blessing level three: Kalla’s Avoid and Movement suit offense; Aurora's Blessing’s damage reduction handles accurate enemies and Underworld Boons. Select Facilities when fast-traveling to arrive near the service attendant.

8. Unlock route-specific classes
Each protagonist unlocks advanced classes through unique systems. Continue
Cai’s practice,
Dietrich’s challenges,
Theodora’s military preparation, and
Leda’s performances. Once unlocked, a class is available to other protagonists. Replay chapters for missed unlocks; you need not finish the route again to share them.
9. Complete Chapter 9 recruitment prerequisites
Chapter 9 of
Dietrich's and
Leda's routes has the side quest “My Late Sister's Accessory.” It affects a later recruit, so do not skip it as an ordinary reward quest.
10. Finish timed paralogues promptly
Paralogues have short availability windows, especially in Chapters 9 through 11. Check the calendar, set reminders, and finish them promptly.
11. Cover roles across about thirteen units
A few aces are insufficient: deployment will force you to add untrained units. Aim for about thirteen including the protagonist, covering these roles:
- Two ranged healers. Part 2 maps are large, and healers should avoid the front line.
Sofia offers the best healing and range; add
Olympia,
Tialla, or
Yang Jie. - Two archers. Flying enemies are common.
Gaitz and
Peter are worth training; upgrade strong bows beforehand. - Two physical frontliners.
Esmeralda and
Goliath offer reliable Defense. The former better maintains Attack Speed; the latter counters with high Strength. Armor fears magic, so have others remove mages first. - Two or three fliers. Rooftops and impassable ground are common. Fliers detour, reach high ground, and skirmish.
Catania,
Alexandra, and
Loretta each have suitable roles. - Magic damage. Handle armor with offensive spells or
Levin Sword.
Ultand,
Olympia, and
Dante can contribute. Fill remaining slots with physical damage and missing utility.
Evasion frontliners work too, but accurate enemies make them unreliable. Keep armor that can truly take physical hits.

12. Complete bonuses after clearing
Finishing Part 1 adds new Boons of Salvation and higher tiers. Claim Notable Deeds rewards, then buy EXP bonuses. For more Kalla and Aurora's Blessing uses, buy cost reductions. Shopping discounts do nothing in Part 2, so prioritize them later.
Update records chapter by chapter through replay
Do not choose replay if you want to preserve the route currently in progress. Replaying Part 1’s final chapter also replaces Part 2’s starting data.
Chapter replay restores the party and items from that point. Clearing a chapter updates the next chapter’s data. To bring retraining into Part 2, finish Part 1’s final chapter. Clearing that final chapter for any reason replaces Part 2’s starting data with this result.
For full map and quest carryover, finish the previous protagonist before starting the next from Chapter 1. Advancing one protagonist at a time is simpler.
War-story equipment and army actions
Part 2 carries in weapons and equipment held by characters. Stored items are inaccessible during it. Even units you will not deploy can carry supplies.
Distribute the effective weapons you need among character inventories. Items left behind return in Part 3.
You get one army action per chapter, choosing from three options. Increasing troop strength brings lagging units closer to the party’s level but does not improve proficiency. Try to use it once when it brings everyone to level thirty-five, then spend other opportunities on Army-wide Skill Training. Training basic Blessing levels in Part 1 leaves more actions free here.
Part 2 still permits exams, class changes, support conversations, Blessing selection, and next-battle advice. Shopping, upgrades, recruitment, and free world-map movement stop. The base is available only through Part 2, Chapter 4, so finish preparations before Chapter 5.

Chapter supplies and the cost of skipping
Weapon durability fully recovers each chapter, so use Combat Arts actively. Licenses at each tier refill to five and cannot accumulate beyond that. Medicine and some basic weapons are supplied too; do not hoard them unnecessarily.
Skipping the war story awards EXP and levels, but also skips army actions, combat proficiency, map drops, and some recruitment opportunities. Play it yourself to develop full strength. Consider skipping for a third or fourth protagonist once you no longer need those resources.
