Give a gift to unlock meals, then use chapter restarts to build Support in batches. Save and reroll weapon crates for equipment, or clear high-level dungeons each chapter for levels. Update abilities, Combat Arts, and weapons after training too.
1. Chapter restarts retain support
For more recruits and support conversations, use Restart Chapter. Money spent, turns, and acquired items return to the chapter-opening state, but support gains remain. Give each target one gift in the previous chapter to unlock nonparty meal invitations, prepare several thousand gold, and choose a chapter with early free time and many preparation turns.
- 1At the inn, eat each dish once with the target character.
- 2When meals are exhausted, assign everyone to auto-exploration until Sunday. Dining uses reset on Sunday, allowing another round.
- 3Advance 28 turns to each following Sunday and repeat. When fewer than 28 turns remain, select Restart Chapter in the system menu.
Repeated meals take fewer operations than traveling around for gifts and theater visits.
Exploration information for question-mark tiles remains too. Investigate the locations you want, then restart to keep knowledge of what is where while reclaiming the scouting turns.
2. Unlock invitations with cheap gifts
You do not need expensive gifts merely to unlock meals.
Saraminian Sweets is cheap and repeatedly purchasable at facilities in southern settlements.
When using gifts to raise support, choose valuable favorites instead. Save sparkling rare gifts for people who like them. Unlock shopping discounts before buying gifts for substantial long-term savings.
3. Save before buying weapon crates to reroll
Quality Weapon Crates already offer
Killing Edge,
Zanbato, and effective bows.
Luxury Weapon Crate also offers
Levin Sword,
Greatsword, and more. Open crates in the item menu after obtaining them; they do not turn into equipment automatically.
Save before buying, buy and open, then return to the title screen and reload if dissatisfied. Leave an empty protagonist inventory slot so the crate goes directly into carried items, faster to open than storage. Prioritize
Killing Edge,
Zanbato,
Ridersbane,
Horsekiller Bow, and
Hunter's Bow from Quality crates. Look for
Levin Sword,
Tempest Bow, and
Cleansing Blade from Luxury crates.
4. Forging also restores durability
Do not wait for high-tier weapons before upgrading. Common gear such as
Iron Sword improves noticeably through forging, and gauntlet upgrades add Avoid. Gather materials through dungeon mining and world-map exploration, prioritizing favorable mining days.
Use Combat Arts freely on weapons you plan to upgrade, then forge once worn. Repairing to full first means paying an unnecessary repair bill.
5. Update equipped skills and Combat Arts
Proficiency and class mastery add more abilities. Check skills and Combat Arts in formation and adapt them to the current character and class instead of keeping the opening setup. If unsure, press plus in the relevant category to auto-equip, then adjust. Remember Combat Art upgrades in
Dietrich’s story too.
6. Level in higher-level dungeons
Claim Notable Deeds rewards and buy increased EXP in Boons of Salvation first, then find dungeons above the party’s level. The map’s dungeon category lists discovered locations. My twenties-level party gained EXP quickly in a recommended level-35 dungeon. Its many armored enemies made magic users valuable. On Normal, try enemies 5 to 10 levels above you.
Clash resolves quickly; press plus to skip slow animations. For low HP or spell uses, find a recovery point or leave to resupply, which costs extra turns. Dungeon enemies do not return within the same chapter, refreshing next chapter. Clear dungeons chapter by chapter early rather than leaving everything for later.
Encounters train levels too, but do not stretch the level gap too far. Prioritize high-EXP enemies and give the final blow to your trainee. Attacking and healing also earn EXP.
7. Earn money through quests and auto-exploration
Prioritize side quests and protagonist-specific activities:
Cai’s Requests,
Leda’s Touring Performances,
Theodora’s military preparation requests, and
Dietrich’s challenges. Do not let encounter enemies dropping
Bullion escape. Explore tiles producing valuables too.
Include a
Rogue for better exploration results. Theater performances offer gold, gifts, and Renown. Choose skilled performers and fitting story choices; special performance days allow 5 participants.
After other business, assign everyone to explore. My party earned 2852 gold in 4 turns, around twenty thousand over 28. With more companions, these accumulating returns become substantial.
8. Break through Underworld Boons
Underworld Boons halve normal attack damage. Sword users with
Cleansing Blade ignore that reduction. It has 8 might and comes through the story or a Wandal Trading Company exchange for 3
Ladon Pike. Holy magic also handles these enemies.
Ultand learns
Seraphim, with few uses but high might.
Leda’s
Song of Abjuring grants allies in range effectiveness against netherfiends until the next player phase. Without these tools, exploit other weaknesses: anti-cavalry weapons against riders and bows against fliers. Avoid slowly grinding them down with untargeted attacks.
9. Travel the full three tiles before exploring
One world-map turn permits up to 3 tiles of movement. The cost comes from choosing an action afterward, not tiles traveled. Move as far as possible before stopping on long journeys. Walking only one or two tiles before continuing still spends a turn.
Once on the target tile, Explore, Wait, Continue Moving, and Call Companions each cost the same one turn. Explore when possible: choosing it does not add another turn. Ignoring tiles along the way can leave you short of materials.
10. Reenter dungeons to restore Linked Attack points
Linked Attacks in Clash spend points. In a strong dungeon, return to the world map and reenter to refill them. Reentry costs an extra turn.
11. Switch back to initial outfits
If you dislike a new class’s appearance, press plus on the class-change screen to restore the initial outfit while retaining class effects. Companions can do this too.
12. Light sword follow-ups and effective weapons
Sword follow-ups gain a 1.2 damage multiplier. Fast units with light swords deal damage easily.
| Weapon | Might | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | 4 | |
| 12 | 8 |
Killing Edge combines good might and weight with 40 durability for repeated high-critical Combat Arts.
Flyssa offers 10 might, 4 weight, and anti-armor coverage.
Zanbato is heavier and less accurate but strong against cavalry.
Levin Sword has 12 might, 8 weight, and range 1 to 2, using magical attack. It suits sword users with good Magic such as
Sirocco. Lances can include
Ji for cavalry and armor. Axes can use
Hammer against armor at a weight and accuracy cost.
At Axe A, you can also use
Velheit: Might 13, Weight 5, and Hit 95, making it light and accurate. Upgrading to +3 raises Might to 18. Once an axe user is trained, it is worth preparing one.
Switch bows between
Hunter's Bow and
Horsekiller Bow for the target.
Tempest Bow is light and adds Avoid +10 for follow-ups and dodging. Da Mina weapons add 10 Hit to Combat Arts. Misses do no damage, so reliable accuracy merits spending.
13. Frontline mainstays on Cai’s route
Guzran joins early with 45 Strength growth and good Speed, Dexterity, and Luck. His personal ability adds Hit, Avoid, or Critical each combat. Following
Gladiator,
Myrmidon, and
Shido gives frontline offense and evasive survival.
Goliath favors Strength and Defense through armor for physical tanking, but has low Resistance and cannot mount.
Sirocco has 40 Strength and Magic growth with good Speed and Dexterity for hybrid offense. His 5 HP recovery after combat also helps after taking hits, making repeated combat comfortable, especially with
Levin Sword.
Esmeralda holds the line with Strength, Defense, and reduced equipment weight.
Pilum benefits from her specialty, making armor reliable. Equip
Armored Move once learned to fix low mobility.
Loretta offers a Speed-and-Avoid front line. Above half HP she gains Avoid +10, and at full HP
Peak Form adds 3 Attack. Do not treat evasion frontliners as unconditional heavy-armor tanks.
14. Archers need both Strength and accuracy
For archer Strength, recruit
Nuzzuo. His Strength, Speed, and Dexterity are good, with extra benefits against effective or super-effective targets. Starting
Rogue helps exploration, then switch to
Sniper.
Lilian emphasizes reliable hits.
Peter can train from the opening on
Cai’s route, but joins late elsewhere, where I would consider the first two sooner.
15. Healers and magic users
Ultand has high Magic and Resistance, stands beside tanks with
Patch Up, and uses
Seraphim against netherfiends. Short healing range is the drawback.
Sofia has bonus healing and later extended healing-spell range for comfortable dedicated support.
Tialla has
Physic and offensive
Bolganone, but low HP and Defense. Keep her away from physical enemies.
