During preparation, handle city weeklies and Renown quests first, then combine requests, dungeons, and encounters in the same direction. After recruitment, plan training for the target class and weapons.

Start on Normal/Casual and plan the calendar

If this is your first Fire Emblem, Normal Casual is a good starting point. Fallen allies return later, reducing pressure. Follow objective icons, consult the menu guide for unfamiliar functions, and use the adventure handbook during free time.

Each week, remember meals, training, Temple Service, theater, baths, gifts, and Pale Raven interactions. Cai’s route also has animal care. Training is half-price on weekends, and Temple Service has a shared Sunday bonus. Grouping the activities you need saves money and effort.

Before battle, check enemy attack ranges. Lure with a unit whose Defense, Resistance, or Avoid suits the enemy, then check forecasts and Range. Do not leave fragile units isolated. Manage HP alongside Blaze Arts.

Early allies and roles across four routes

On Cai’s route, train Peter and Tialla first, then consider Guzran, Yang Jie, and Noctula. Bows, magic, healing, and a physical front line come together easily. Peter extends bow combat art Range, while Tialla combines damage and healing.

On Dietrich’s route, begin with Fabio and Esmeralda, then add Mikaela, Kiroc, Io, or Nydine as needed. Theodora’s route has Bonaventure supporting Hit, Tobias providing Strength, Sofia healing, and Lilian and Lysander adding bows and mobility.

On Leda’s route, rely first on Buccar and Sirocco, with help from Mu and Olympia. Prioritize Catania if mobility is lacking. Guzran is worth recruiting too. Choose according to missing healing, Movement, or damage, rather than training everyone just to complete a list.

Prioritize Renown requests in free time

Accept and complete requests that raise Renown. It affects recruitment, map access, training benefits, and Certification Exams. During preparation, do zero-turn activities before leaving town to level and gather materials. Combine destinations in the same direction and clear encounters along the way.

Each protagonist also has individual income and Renown sources. Cai captures and raises mounts and helps people. Dietrich starts battles through assignments. Theodora strengthens war preparations and uses battalions. Leda tours to perform. Advancing these unique activities alongside side quests is more rewarding than focusing only on the main story.

Match leveling methods to three experience types

Unlock the Boons of Salvation experience bonus first. Dungeon Clashes develop the team together, while encounters also earn Renown. Final blows and MVP awards grant more experience, and healing grants experience too. Give the characters you want to train more participation.

Choose inn assignments carefully: exploration gives gold and materials, training gives skill and class experience, and combat practice raises character levels.

Casual mode also lets you retain experience and retry after losing a main story battle. Classic does not offer this method.

Train toward class and weapon requirements

Prioritize Grand Arena training and match viewing because they cost no turns. Training is half-price on Saturday and Sunday. Send two units each time; their support also rises.

Training courseProficiencies raised
Infantry trainingSword, Bow, Infantry
Fighter trainingSword, Axe, Brawling
Magic-unit trainingBlack Magic, White Magic, Authority
Mounted and flying trainingLance, Authority, Riding, Flying

Check the calendar for match-viewing dates. Benefits depend on the participants’ weapons, and the whole team gains skill experience. Before deciding how far to train, check the target class and weapon requirements, then invest toward those goals. Raising exam success to 100% is simpler.

Build recruitment support and train Blessings through service

Give favorite gifts, share inn meals, and watch theater together before recruitment. After joining, paired Temple Service, performances, baths, conversations, adjacent combat, and linked attacks in Clashes continue raising support.

Support is more than a recruitment requirement. It brings combat modifiers, conversations, and changes to linked attacks. Remember weekly Pale Raven interactions too. A single Temple Service grants both contribution and support between two characters. Participants suited to the activity earn more contribution. Accumulate enough to upgrade Blessings.

Recheck recruitment after Renown increases

Talk to the character first, then inspect each requirement in character information. Some need support; others need Renown, negotiation, or a specific request. Once requirements are met, talk again and choose recruitment. If the invitation menu is missing, check whether you have given a gift first.

Recheck targets immediately after Renown rises instead of leaving eligible recruits waiting. Side quests, encounters, and protagonist activities all raise Renown. Audiences can also be scheduled through the calendar. Do not skip an entire preparation period just to push consecutive main quests.

Fund training through activities and valuables

Advance protagonist activities, world-map exploration, and side quests together. Paralogues often pay well, and valuables can be sold. Identify the valuables icon first so you do not sell request or upgrade materials with them.

Training and meals are regular expenses, while gifts grow more expensive. Decide whom to recruit before concentrating spending. Reserve money for weapons, forging, and repairs too. Anna temporarily joins certain paralogues and has a night shop in the capital’s highest district selling stat-boosting items.

Class qualifications and mastery rewards

Find the Certification Exam official on the capital’s upper approach. Choose a class, check character level, skills, Renown, and success rate, then prepare the license for that tier. Licenses are sold nearby. After passing, switch to the qualified class in the menu.

Divine classes need special qualification items; ordinary exam licenses cannot replace them.

Look beyond current stats when changing class. Abilities learned through class mastery remain usable after switching. If mastery is the goal, finish it before leaving. If you mainly want the new class’s stat modifiers, take the exam once higher qualifications become available.
